When Guster took the stage at Red Rocks Amphitheater in July 2021, it was a triumphant return after months of lockdown amid a pandemic that forced live music into hiatus. As the opening bars of “Do You Love Me” rang out, fans started to sing along in a pure expression of joy, knowing that they were taking part in history.
That Guster show was the first climate-positive concert to be held at the venue. It was a small step towards helping to remedy a swiftly heating planet and an excellent example...

Richard Swift, a producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist who played with groups including the Black Keys and the Shins, died today. He was 41.
The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach confirmed the news on social media:
A California native born on March 16, 1977, Swift made a handful of solo records in the 2000s and produced albums for such acts as Gardens & Villa, Sylvie Lewis, Damien Jurado and later Guster.
He went on to play keyboards and percussion from 2011-16 with the Shins, James Mercer’s group whose beautifully infectious “New Slang” had been featured in Zach Braff’s Garden State, and was the bassist and sang backup on the Black Keys’ 2014-15 arena tour. He also drummed with Auerbach’s other band the Arcs.
Swift, who also was a short-film maker, had his music featured in films including 2013’s Drinking Buddies and such TV shows as HBO’s Eastbound & Down and Tim and...

Psych is a warm and engaging and frequently hilarious show, and having spoken to the cast and crew at Sdcc, I can attest that they are just as much of a blast to talk to as the show is to watch. I got to sit down with James Roday, Dulé Hill, Cary Elwes, Timothy Omundson, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson, Corbin Bernsen, Steve Franks, Chris Henze, and Kelly Kulchak and dish about the show. Here’s what I learned.
The Psych cast sings around the set a lot, and loved doing Psych: The Musical (which will air in December), and actually singing for the cameras.
Kirsten Nelson: “It was exciting to do! It was a whole lot of fun to go into a recording studio to record the songs and play it back for the crew, who were excited to hear us sing. They hear us singing, goofing around all the time,...

We’ve come a long way from the days of candybar phones pre-programmed with monophonic versions of “The Entertainer.” These days, anything can be a ringtone — which comes in handy when you’re as pop culture-obsessed as EW’s staff.
Assistant News Director Denise Warner has her phone play the Downton Abbey theme song whenever she gets a call; before that, her cell rang to the tune of Warren G’s “Regulate.” EW.com producer Nika Vagner uses Ryan Gosling reading “Hey girl” memes aloud as her ringtone. (And you can too!) My own ringtone isn’t particularly pop culture-y...

"Safety Not Guaranteed" isn't your typical indie romance. For starters, it's about the possibility of time travel: The film is loosely based on a 2005 classified ad-turned-internet meme posted by a man (played by Mark Duplass) looking for a time travel companion.
"Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke," reads the ad. "You'll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before."
The plot isn't the only unusual thing about "Safety Not Guaranteed." The indie film's budget was small, but the score, which director Colin Trevorrow compares to one you might find in a blockbuster like "E.T." or "Superman," is full of big sound.
"There are some amazing indie scores, but usually the big themes go to movies that are budgeted at $100 million or more," Trevorrow told HuffPost Entertainment. "'Safety Not Guaranteed...

For someone whose sort of job it is to be aware of all the new TV that's on each weeknight, it's really a little embarrassing how frequently I just put on some reruns while doing other things around my apartment. This means that I barely pay attention to TV anymore unless it's something I really want to watch, it's sort of like a flickering box of lights that makes my apartment feel not so boring for a little while at a time. Is that weird? Actually, don't tell me, I really don't care. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "Antiques Roadshow" on PBS
"The Bachelor" on ABC
"Enough Already with Peter Walsh" on Own. Okay, so use an anonymous name if you must, but can someone tell me if they're actually watching anything on Own? Because if I don't have to list this shit I won't. I figured for...
