The episodes preceding the finale show Owen’s first two weeks on the job thrown into chaos after he discovers a letter from former CIA asset Max (Laura Haddock), threatening to expose the agency if they don’t exonerate her.
The comedy-drama stars Centineo as Owen, a rookie CIA lawyer, who becomes dangerously entangled in a game of international politics.
After the recent release of its eight-episode debut season on 16 December, viewers are already begging for a second season, given the finale’s “brutal” cliffhanger.
“Everyone needs to watch The Recruit on Netflix craziest ending ever,” one Tweeted, with a second adding that it left them with “no words”.
“Holy f***, the ending of The Recruit Holy F*** F***... I need season two now!” a third wrote.
A fourth found the ending “brutal”, and it left another “shocked”.
Warning, major spoilers to follow!
The episodes preceding the finale show Owen’s first two weeks on the job thrown into chaos after he discovers a letter from former CIA asset Max (Laura Haddock), threatening to expose the agency if they don’t exonerate her.

Awards season is upon us, and if there's one thing we know for sure, it's that horror movies are about to get snubbed again. Because that's the norm for most major awards shows. In a world where Toni Collette can't get nominated for "Hereditary," Lupita Nyong'o can't get nominated for "Us," and Rebecca Hall can't get nominated for "The Night House," what hope is there for all the other awesome horror movie performances?
So if the Academy is going to ignore the vast majority of great horror genre performances — there are a few exceptions throughout history, but not terribly many — it falls to us to make sure the exceptional work this year doesn't get forgotten. And since it's been an unusually spectacular year for the horror genre, narrowing the great work down to a manageable size is itself a leviathan effort. We don't have space to celebrate every great horror actor,...

Review: It seems like a risky move for Netflix to premiere their new spy series just a week before Prime Video debuts the third season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. The Recruit and the John Krasinski-led thriller center on CIA employees with military backgrounds who get pulled from their regular duties to become field operatives. The most significant difference between the two series is The Recruit has a much lighter tone...

“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” breakout Noah Centineo takes a starring role in the new Netflix series “The Recruit,” but he’s far from the only familiar face in the show. The original series hails from “The Rookie” creator Alexi Hawley and follows a young CIA lawyer whose first week on the job goes topsy turvy when he’s contacted by a woman claiming to be a former asset who’s threatening to expose secrets. Oh, and she’s in prison for murder. Twists and turns abound in the eight-episode first season, but if you’re curious how you know the actors populating this new show, we’ve got you covered.

If anyone had any doubts about the power of Noah Centineo, Netflix’s “The Recruit” will put those to rest. The actor had a brief stint as the internet’s boyfriend when he starred as Peter Kazinsky in Netflix’s “To All the Boys” franchise, and recently appeared as a superhero in the Justice Society of America in “Black Adam,” but now, he gets the chance to prove that he’s a true leading man. In fact, he’s so charming in “The Recruit” that his charm is all the show really needs to be entertaining. Is this really what lawyers do at the CIA? I have no idea, and it kind of doesn’t matter. This show isn’t really about lawyers.

The Recruit is a new Netflix series starring Noah Centineo. It is written and created by Alexi Hawley.
Eight episodes of political intrigue and Geo-political machinations through which newbie CIA lawyer/agent has to navigate.
Premise The Recruit (2022-)
Owen Hendricks, a fledgling lawyer at the CIA that becomes enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime.
About the Series
One might be conned into thinking that this is a comedy series, despite having been advertised as a thriller, action and adventure series. The initial scenes in the first episode are more reminiscent of The Office (2005-2012) than any other more somber spy themed TV show. The score certainly assists in lightening the mood, with its Get Smart‘ish melodies – however more contemporary.
