We've made progress toward gay equality in the U.S., John Oliver says in his latest Last Week Tonight report. But that doesn't mean we've come far enough. The host cites a "genuinely encouraging sign" from the recent Republican presidential debate, where the idea of attending a gay wedding earned applause from the audience. But these symbolic steps mean nothing when the reality doesn't match. "While the idea of a gay wedding is increasingly widely accepted," Oliver says, "it's worth nothing there are still a number of surprising ways to ruin a gay honeymoon.

Streaming service acquires global rights to the Duplass Brothers production, written and directed by Hannah Fidell.
Netflix has acquired global distibution rights to 6 Years.
Written and directed Hannah Fidell, the drama premiered at SXSW on Saturday [March 14] and explores the struggles of young love as it begins to face the next steps into adulthood.
6 Years was produced by Duplass Brothers Productions, Kelly Williams, Jonathan Duffy and Andrew Logan in association with Arts & Labor, and stars Taissa Farmiga and Ben Rosenfield.
The deal was negotiated by ICM partners and Submarine Entertainment.
It continues the relationship between the Duplass Brothers and Netflix, following their recent four-film deal.
Netflix will debut the film later this year.
