Tributes have been paid to Larry King, the legend of American television and radio, who died Saturday just weeks after being hospitalized with coronavirus. He was 87.
CNN President Jeff Zucker led respects to King, a towering figure in U.S. journalism following a six-decade career in which he interviewed the world’s most important and famous people. King put CNN on the map with his show Larry King Live, and Zucker said the news network was proud to have him as part of its history.
“The scrappy young man from Brooklyn had a history-making career spanning radio and television. His curiosity about the world propelled his award-winning career in broadcasting, but it was his generosity of spirit that drew the world to him,” Zucker said.
“We are so proud of the 25 years he spent with CNN, where his newsmaker interviews truly put the network on the international stage. From our CNN family to Larry’s,...

NBC is looking to explore the complicated relationship between journalism and Washington politics with The Hill, a drama in development from writer-executive producer Paul Grellong (Hawaii Five-0), executive producer Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva) and Sony Pictures TV where Berman’s Osprey Productions is based.

Notorious is not long for this world.
That much has been abundantly clear if you have been keeping track of the ratings for the show throughout the first few weeks of the 2016-2017 season.
The show is averaging just 4.4 million viewers and a 1.0 among adults 18-49.
It was revealed today that ABC made the decision to trim the episode order to 10 episodes.
That's far from good news for the show and it's clear ABC is ready to say goodbye to it.
Scandal is waiting in the wings for a January return.
The veteran hit was placed on hiatus due to series star, Kerry Washington's second pregnancy.
ABC Assures Fans: Scandal is Returning! We Swear!
Chances are, Notorious would never have made the fall schedule if Scandal was coming back in the fall.

Weddings can sometimes be rather predictable and boring – but not if you’re a Huang and really, really love the movie “Ghost.”
On the Season 3 premiere of “Fresh Off the Boat,” Gene (Ken Jeong) tied the knot with his fiancee Margaret (Ann Hsu) in Taiwan. During the reception, Gene presented the couple’s wedding video, introducing it with the sweet but rather prosaic words, “Please enjoy the story of how Margaret and I met and fell in love.”
And then this chyron appeared on the screen:
To the strains of “Unchained Melody,” a mini macabre melodrama unfolded that very loosely mimicked the Patrick Swayze/Demi Moore 1990 supernatural romance “Ghost.” But this time it was Gene and Margaret as the loving couple, and Gene who was the victim of a drive-by stabbing. All this was presented with shoddy, circa-1990s VHS video quality.

Minnie Driver yelling, “Oy! Oy!” at people she disapproves of is, quite simply, a thing of beauty. But more than that, it’s an act we need to support each and every opportunity we get. Sheer joy is experienced by all within earshot when she tosses her English colloquialism like a grenade at unsuspecting offenders, and simple pleasures like this are in such short supply how dare you, I or anyone deprive the world of even one?
It’s with this in mind that I throw my full endorsement behind “Speechless,” Driver’s new ABC comedy wedged between “The Goldbergs,” “Modern Family” and “Black-ish” as the missing piece of the network’s award-worthy (and award-winning) family night lineup. Yes, there are a few pacing issues in the 22-minute pilot, and recommending a series based on one episode of television is a risky gamble critics are asked to make far too often.

ABC is making a big bet on its new fall drama “Notorious,” breaking up its reliable Thursday night lineup to schedule the show between the Shondaland heavy-hitters “Grey’s Anatomy” and “How to Get Away With Murder.” Based on the real-life relationship between “Larry King Live” producer Wendy Walker and civil defense attorney Mark Geragos, the drama follows the ethically questionable partnership between a seasoned cable news producer (Piper Perabo of “Covert Affairs”) and a high-profile lawyer (“Graceland” alum Daniel Sunjata) who work.
