- Award winning concept/storyboard artist Dan Schaefer has contributed his skills to film and television productions for more than 30 years. His list of projects varies from animation (Teen-Age Mutant Turtles animated TV series), advertising campaigns (NBA, Microsoft, BMW, Adidas, Nike, Intel, HP, Clorox, Airwick, Cadillac, Four Seasons) and feature films/television (BBC, Disney, NBC/Universal, MGM, Lions Gate, Paramount, TNT, HBO, Netflix, Netflix UK).
He has worked as a pre-visualization artist with Gus Van Sant (Paranoid Park, To Each His Own Cinema, Milk), Guillermo Arriga (The Burning Plain), Jonathan Frakes and Frank Oz (Leverage), Rob Bowman(Staties), Tom McCarthy(Timmy Failure), and Peter Sollett (Metal Lords).
His diverse skill set has led him into art direction/Visual Consultant (Valley of Light, The Water Man), animation design(My Summer as a Goth, The Water Man) producing (associate producer on the film Deep Winter) and directing/producing a series of award winning documentaries(Mania, Kings of the Road, Figaro, and House By the Side of the Road) that have been aired on Comcast Sports Net and PBS.
Works include concept/storyboard/prop artist on Grimm(NBC), TNT's Leverage/Librarians, The Break(BBC), Here and Now(HBO), American Vandal, Metal Lords, The Last Bus(Netflix), The Girl in the Woods(Peacock) and The Split(BBC).

- In a 1995 performance of the play Love Letters(written by A.R Gurney) assisted director/star Barry Morse as a lighting stand in.
- Provided storyboards for FX's "The Americans" season 3 teaser, which presented a bear and eagle in primal conflict.
- Attended a preproduction meeting with Nour Wazzi and actor James Krishna Floyd during the production of episode 6 of BBC 3's The Break at Elstree studios.
- Part of the team(Storyboard artist) at Hinge Digital and CMD that brought you the, "Keep Portland Small" campaign for Alpenrose that won the Seattle 2022 Gold Addy for Animation. Alpenrose's "Keep Portland Small" campaign then won an ADDY at the National 2022 American Advertising Awards in the Animation, VFX & Motion Graphics category.
- Contributed to the 1996 Nissan spot called "Toys", produced by Will Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon. Supplied concept art for the "girl dolls" house and provided the dinosaur. The commercial would go on to win Ad Week's commercial of the year.
