He and George W. Bush are the first pair of brothers to simultaneously serve
as governors of two different states since Nelson Rockefeller and Winthrop
Rockefeller were the governors of New York and Arkansas, respectively,
from 1967 to 1971.
His brother, George W. Bush, has two daughters but no sons, so the name George
Bush cannot be carried by their progeny. However, it is carried by
Jeb's progeny, as he named one of his sons George P. Bush.
First member of the Bush family to be born in Texas and, ironically,
the only office-holding member of the family who never held a
Texas-based elected office. His father was a Congressman from Houston
and his brother Governor of Texas.
