The Free Nationals are back with their first new music in almost four years, and they’ve rallied an all-star collaboration for the occasion: The members of Anderson .Paak’s live band have recruited the singer and drummer himself for “Gangsta,” which also boasts a feature from A$AP Rocky. Stream it below.
The retro-soul track is a celebration of the funk sound that helped the four members of The Free Nationals establish a name for themselves. The accompanying visual marks the band as the latest to embrace AI in music videos — they’ve also shared an AI-based photo generator that turns interested users into similarly styled avatars to match the video’s aesthetic. The video was directed by Francois Rousselet, who has worked with The Rolling Stones, Jack White, and Pharrell in the past.
This April, The Free Nationals are set to return to the stage with .Paak during the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

Music video director François Rousselet had to fake nearly 40 billboards on the Sunset Strip to create the Rolling Stones’ new clip for “Angry,” the first single off their upcoming Hackney Diamonds album.
Inspired by photographer Robert Landau’s 2016 book Rock ‘n’ Roll Billboards of the Sunset Strip — which documented the proliferation of ads for rock bands in West Hollywood between the Sixties and Eighties — Rousselet sought to pay homage to the heyday of the rock billboard for the clip. He culled footage from the Stones’ archives and digitally replaced ads...

The Rolling Stones release Blue & Lonesome, their first album in eleven years, today, and this occasion is marked well: with a music video in which Kristen Stewart barrels a Mustang Gt down Los Angeles’ abandoned streets and waterways while rocking out to “Ride ‘Em on Down,” the band’s cover of an Eddie Taylor tune. The shot-in-two-days, François Rousselet-directed effort is quick, sunny, sexy, a bit dumb in a way that’s plenty affable, and wisely favors immediacy over coherency.

Kristen Stewart rocks out hard in the music video for the Rolling Stones’ new single, “Ride ‘Em on Down.” In the video, which was directed by François Rousselet, we see Stewart tearing down the streets of Los Angeles in a vintage blue Mustang, weaving between lanes as the hard-driving blues-rock song plays in the background. The song is the latest single off of”Blue & Lonesome,” the Stones first studio album in over ten years. Recorded in just three days in London, the album was produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins for Interscope Records. Also Read: Rolling Stones Set Release Date.
