Amazon Prime Video’s new documentary series “Good Rivals” will investigate the social and political roots of the rivalry between the Mexican and American international soccer teams, from Mexico’s historic domination of the game to Donald Trump’s election in 2016.
The three-part docuseries, premiering Nov. 24 on Prime Video, tracks the rivalry that has never ceased to pack the stadiums with fans over its 30-year span — including the American team’s inability to beat Mexico in 24 straight games from 1937 to 1980.
Launched by Prime Video Sports, the series will spotlight some of the most memorable careers of the pairing, including Landon Donovan, a striker hailing from Southern California, and Rafa Márquez, a player whose grandfather abandoned the family to move to the U.S., who represented their countries as iconic players in the early to mid 2000s.

Jo Koy can be hilarious, riotously so at times. He has no trouble filling auditoriums with his spot-on standup act. Much of what makes him so funny are his observations about his Filipino American family: his aunts, his uncles, his cousins, his sisters and, most of all, his mom. Koy’s gift for deft comedy is too easily forgotten watching the well-intentioned but underwhelming “Easter Sunday,” his first starring vehicle.
Koy plays actor Joe Valencia. Living in Los Angeles, Joe is starting to feel he’s dancing on the razor’s edge between success or failure. He’s got an agent, portrayed by the movie’s director Jay Chandrasekhar. He’s got a beer commercial with a sticky tagline — “Let’s get this party started, baybay!” — that long ago became an albatross. Strangers in stores and family members quote it at him.

Jimmy Kimmel's latest edition of Lie Witness News is priceless! In the hilarious clip, Kimmel exposes fake soccer fans who clearly know nothing about the 2014 U.S. World Cup team. "It seems like pretty much everyone has been talking about soccer this week," the 46-year-old host says. "So much so, we decided to conduct an experiment. We went out to Hollywood Boulevard and we found people who claim to be big fans of U.S. soccer and we asked those people how they think Landon Donovan has been playing so far. Now, if you follow soccer, you know Landon Donovan was cut from the team in May before the World Cup even started." Cut to Hollywood Boulevard. A producer asks one man his favorite play...

Yikes . . . In a special World Cup edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live's "Lie Witness News," the show asked a bunch of self-proclaimed Us soccer fans what they thought of Landon Donovan's performance - and more than a few "fans" were happy to weigh in. Well, despite World Cup ratings reaching high numbers in America, it looks like there were still plenty of people who didn't tune in, because as any true fan of the Us men's national team knows, Donovan didn't make the team this year. Apparently these fans missed the memo. Watch these people's hilarious responses to what, exactly, it was like to watch Donovan play.

For the past few weeks, World Cup addicts across the globe – and even players – have been chomping at the bit for more soccer. On the other hand, annoying fairweather fans have been feigning their loyalty to the sport, clogging the Facebook news feeds of the disinterested. Enter Jimmy Kimmel Live's popular interview segment, "Lie Witness News," for some ethical justice. On Tuesday night's installment, the show hit the street and asked supposed soccer fans for their World Cup evaluations of American player Landon Donovan – who was cut from the team before the tournament even started.

Just as you suspected, all those crazy World Cup fans in your office and Twitter feed really were full of it. Jimmy Kimmel, who (very justifiably) has very little faith in the human race, proved that most American soccer fans are fake soccer fans with the latest edition of his patented “Lie Witness News,” by asking people on the street what they thought about Landon Donovan's performance for the Us Men's team at the World Cup. Here's a look at some of the late-night chatter you may have missed Tuesday night.
It was a pretty quiet night on the late-night circuit. Only Jimmy Kimmel seemed awake and active. Jimmy sat down with Dane Cook, who is apparently trying online dating, including a visit to Ancestry.com, which just didn't turn out right. Jimmy also dug up an embarrassing old photo of Dane with slicked-back hair and a hilariously earnest quote, and Dane shared his plans for the Fourth of July. Apparently he was a very high-strung kid, worried about high wind advisories with the fireworks. Jimmy also pointed out that Dane is getting a big "muscular." Is that a good thing?
Jimmy also sat down with Mark Duplass of "Tammy" (everyone from Melissa McCarthy's movie has been all over the circuit) and Mark talked about sex scenes. Usually actors say a sex scene is the...

A series of headlines stated that Landon Donovan has been rooting against the Us ever since he didn't make the team roster, but the soccer star took to Facebook to clear the air on Monday. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Landon was asked about what it was like to watch the Us men's national team play their first warmup game without him. He said, "I'll be completely honest, watching them play Azerbaijan, inside, part of me was thinking, 'I hope the game doesn't go very well today.'" The quote quickly picked up steam, but there was a second part of it that didn't make all the rounds. As a follow-up, Landon said, "The next day I woke up and said to myself, 'That's a really crappy way to feel. That's a bad way to live your life, it doesn't help me, it doesn't help the team,...

Landon Donovan took his World Cup snub hard. Really hard. So hard, in fact, that after he was left off the U.S. team roster in late May, he briefly hoped they wouldn't do well without him. "I'll be completely honest, watching them play Azerbaijan, inside, part of me was thinking, 'I hope the game doesn't go very well today,'" the soccer stud told the Los Angeles Times on Friday, June 27. "In my heart of hearts, I thought, 'If we get a 1-0 win and the team [...]...

Landon Donovan is opening up about the lowest moment in his career. In a candid interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 32-year-old soccer stud admitted that he was so upset after being cut from the 2014 U.S. World Cup squad, that he briefly rooted against his former teammates. "I'll be completely honest, watching them play Azerbaijan, inside, part of me was thinking, I hope the game doesn't go very well today," Donovan revealed. "In my heart of hearts, I thought, if we get a 1-0 win and the team doesn't perform well, that would feel good." Landon Donovan took the news he wouldn’t be heading to Brazil with the U.S. Men’s National team so badly he’d wanted the team to do poorly in his absence.
Landon Donovan Rooted Against Us Team
Donovan, likely the most recognizable face in men’s soccer in the Us, was stunned to learn that coach Jurgen Klinsmann was leaving him off the 23-man roster for the 2014 World Cup. The perceived slight caused Donovan to want to see the team struggle without him. The first game they played without him was versus inferior European opponent Azerbaijian.

Luis Suarez memes have taken over Twitter after the Uruguayan soccer player appeared to bite the shoulder of Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in their 2014 World Cup face-off Tuesday afternoon.
Luis Suarez Biting Memes Go Viral
Suarez has been nicknamed the Hannibal Lecter of international soccer, having bitten at least two other opponents prior to Chiellini. Last year, while playing for his current club team – the English Premiere League’s Liverpool Fc – Suarez bit the arm of Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic. FIFA subsequently banned him for 10 games. In 2010, Suarez received a seven-match ban for biting Otman Bakkal in the Dutch Eredivisie.
In addition to drawing comparison’s to Hannibal, Suarez has now inspired memes that make him into a vampire, a zombie, Jaws and more.

Uruguayan soccer star Luis Suarez appeared to bite the shoulder of Giorgio Chiellini in his squad’s match against the Italian national team in their World Cup game Tuesday afternoon.
Luis Suarez Bites Giorgio Chiellini
In the 79th minute of play, with the game tied 0-0, Uruguay was given a set piece after a foul by Italy. Chiellini was tasked with marking Suarez in the penalty box. Before the ball was served, Suarez appeared to bite into the back of Chiellini’s shoulder.
Immediately after digging his teeth into his opponent, who fell to the ground, Suarez reached up to his mouth, acting as though Chiellini had delivered an elbow to his nose and jaw. An outraged Chiellini got up and pulled the collar of his shirt to show the ref the teeth marks, but Uruguay’s Gaston Ramirez ran over to pull the defender’s shirt over the wound.
