Los Angeles-based Premiere Entertainment Group (Peg) has acquired international sales rights heading into AFM on to murder mystery thriller What Remains starring Kellan Lutz, Cress Williams and Anne Heche in one of her final roles.
The story follows a recently paroled convict who returns to the small town where he committed a murder as the local sheriff investigates another mysterious homicide which may be related.

Cress Williams, Kellan Lutz and Anne Heche are starring in “What Remains,” a murder mystery that is shooting in Texas.
The film centers on a small town pastor (Williams) forced to contend with an act of forgiveness when the convict (Lutz) he forgave for murdering his wife returns to town five years later. At the same time, the town sheriff (Heche) is investigating another murder that may be related.
The indie film is written and directed by Nathan Scoggins, who previously wrote, produced and directed “The Least of These” and “The Perfect Summer.” Ralph Winter and Korey Pollard (“Chicago Fire”) serve as executive producers. The film is being co-financed by Sharpened Iron Studios. Sean Doherty, founder and CEO of Sharpened Iron, is also on board as an executive producer.
Other notable cast members include Marcus Gladney Jr and Stelio Savante. Grammy-winning composer Mateo Messina is providing the score.

“Black Mirror” creator Charlie Brooker and his collaborator Annabel Jones have set their next Netflix project: a comedy special about Hollywood clichés, hosted by Rob Lowe.
Launching on the streaming service on Sept. 28, “Attack of the Hollywood Clichés!” is described as “a one-off special featuring some of the most famous films in cinematic history along with a plethora of Hollywood A-Listers, Screenwriters, Academics and Critics as they guide us through the funny, weird and controversial clichés which appear on our cinema screens.”
“Attack of the Hollywood Clichés!” will be led by former Brat Pack member, movie star and “handsome devil” Lowe, who will be wearing a “classic crisp suit” while inviting “viewers to examine the Hollywood clichés filmmakers can’t help but use, time and time again.”

Sharpened Iron Studios has acquired the original musical screenplay “Amarillo” and has enlisted European filmmaker Ate de Jong to direct the film.
“Amarillo,” written by Variety’s executive VP of global content Steven Gaydos, is set behind the scenes of a reality TV music competition series and tells the story of two young singer-songwriters who pretend to be lovers for the camera and end up becoming a real-life couple.
“Amarillo” will feature 16 original songs written by a team that includes singer-musician Rob Kolar, who most recently scored the TV comedy series “The Detour,” along with the Nashville-based Michael Kosser, Gregg Stewart and Terrance Dwyer.
Production is slated to begin in Amarillo, Texas, this fall and the project will be filmed on a sound stage at Sharpened Iron Studios.
