When a bunch of all-stars get together to record a song for a cause, the result can often be cringey. But “Tennessee Rise,” featuring the pulpit-ready voices of Brittany Howard, Allison Russell, Katie Pruitt, Amanda Shires, Fancy Hagood, Emmylou Harris, and more, hits all the marks.
The heavenly choir anthem was recorded to encourage Tennesseans to register and vote for Gloria Johnson, who is challenging Republican incumbent U.S. senator — and the state’s Darth Vader — Marsha Blackburn in the November election. Johnson is one of the lawmakers known as “The Tennessee Three,...

Jonah Hill is a dad! The 39-year-old actor and Olivia Millar, whom he was first linked to last summer, welcomed their first child, his rep confirmed to People. Et has reached out for comment.
Hill and Millar never announced their baby on the way, but reports to that effect surfaced in March when Daily Mail published pics of Millar with what appeared to be a baby bump.
Millar, the daughter of famed model Esmé Marshall, also sparked engagement rumours at the time, but neither Hill nor Millar has confirmed as much.
Before his relationship with Millar, who owns an online clothing store, Hill was engaged to Gianna Santos. The pair called it quits in 2020 after two years together.
Hill, who largely keeps his personal life private, was next romantically linked to environmental activist Sarah Brady, though he denied that they were engaged in February 2022.

John Osborne is about to be a dad — times two! At the 2022 CMA Awards on Wednesday, Brothers Osborne took home the trophy for Vocal Duo of the Year, and John used his and brother T.J. Osborne’s acceptance to announce that his wife, Lucie Silvas, is pregnant with twins.
“My wife Lucie’s pregnant, we got twins on the way,” John excitedly said to cheers from the crowd. “I love you, babe. You’re gonna be an amazing mom.”
After the big win, Et’s Rachel Smith spoke to the duo backstage, and John opened up about his and Lucie’s journey to start a family.

During the second of her six sold-out concerts at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Brandi Carlile joined Lucie Silvas — the British-born, Nashville-based singer whose vocal ferocity and incisive songwriting are akin to her own — for a thundering cover of Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Dusky and soulful, Silvas’ potent pipes, like Carlile’s extraordinary instrument, are suited to an array of styles, but there’s nothing quite like hearing either singer soar to the heavens on a dramatic power ballad. Trisha Yearwood is enjoying her biggest hit in years with the lead single and title track from her new album, Every Girl, recently debuting at Number 21 on the country airplay chart. But there’s another song on the album, out Friday, that proves Yearwood’s creative instincts are still just as keen as her ability to deliver a hit song.
Written by Gretchen Peters (“Independence Day”), “The Matador” paints a picture of a woman forced to share her love for a bullfighter with the adoring crowd and the pull of the arena.

Randy Houser remembers exactly where he was when he decided to throw it all away. Following a string of populist country radio hits, he became fed up with how he was expected to perform them live: shored up with various computerized bells and whistles that were meant to help him compete with his peers and their outsized live shows.
“We were playing along to all these tracks,” Houser says. “I walked out there one day and felt like I was a freaking puppet. I called my manager and said, ‘Take all these damn machines back.

Radio has largely abandoned Houser since then, which is unfortunate, but maybe that’s freed him up — his music is even better. In 2013, when aggressive genre hybrids ruled country, the singer had to roar...

In the same way her instantly charming accent reflects her upbringing in both New Zealand and the southwest London area of Kingston-Upon-Thames, the latest album by Lucie Silvas, E.G.O., mixes its share of musical cultures and sonic influences. Randy Houser has announced plans to release his new album Magnolia this fall, and with the news comes another song from the singer-songwriter, the thoughtful ballad “No Stone Unturned.”
The 12-track album, which was produced by Keith Gattis and recorded at his studio in East Nashville, derives its title from the nickname of Houser’s home state, Mississippi. Houser, who began his career penning hits like Trace Adkins’ “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” co-wrote all the songs on Magnolia, with “No Stone Unturned” following “What Whiskey Does” as the second release from the album.

“Road to Happiness,” the recently released single from “Burning House” singer Cam, is an acoustic-based meditation on life’s uncertain journey. But for anyone who has seen the California-born spitfire on stage, her upcoming Road to Happiness Tour will almost certainly not echo the song’s gentle restraint.
With her month-long supporting role on British pop-soul artist Sam Smith’s The Thrill of It All Tour coming to a close with a pair of shows in Mexico this week, Cam revealed via Twitter on Monday that her Road to Happiness...

Kinda. Sorta. Well, not really. But for a few brief, shining moments on Dec. 9 and 10, a gaggle of alumni from NBC’s failed musical experiment banded together to put on a show: a concert version of Hit List, the hip downtown musical that tried to wrest our attention from Bombshell in season 2.
