Kazuchika Kise is one of the best-known and acclaimed anime character designers in history. Best known for his work on the Ghost in the Shell series, he has also worked on the xxxHolic and Blood series, and is currently the principal character designer for the popular fantasy series Made in Abyss.

The 1995 'neo-noir cyberpunk' animated feature "Ghost in the Shell", directed by Mamoru Oshii, based on manga comics by Masamune Shirow, starring Atsuko Tanaka, Akio Ōtsuka, and Iemasa Kayumi, will be re-released November 8, 2023 in theaters:

Yoko Higuchi turns in another impressive project with his latest short film, “Synthetic Love.” Besides directing, Higuchi wrote the screenplay along with Michael Evans, and while the shooting took place at Oguchi Dam, located in the Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan. Making her acting debut is Myuri, an established model and dancer, and she performs opposite Takumi Matsumoto, who some viewers may remember for appearing in Takashi Murakami's “Jellyfish Eyes.” “Synthetic Love” premiered at the One Art Space in New York in a double feature showing with one of Yoko's previous shorts, “Everydayman: A Fantasy Tokusatsu Parody.”
One rainy day, a female robot named Motoko awaits her boyfriend, Shinji, to arrive while standing atop a dam overlooking the river below. Upon arrival, he cheerfully gives her a present to celebrate their three-month anniversary. Yet, much to his dismay, the humanoid machinery announces she's breaking up with him, claiming their time together has expired.

"The Matrix," like all great stories, was built on some great inspirations. Its basal foundations can be daunting, involving some deep dives into Buddhist theology, philosophy, and the development of AI. The Wachowski sisters drew from three non-fiction grimoires, if you'll pardon the term, to build their world of machine and man. "Out of Control," by Kevin Kelly, is a look at the potential of mechanical evolution. "Introducing Evolutionary Psychology" by Dylan Evans shaped the id of Neo's life. And "Simulacra and Simulation" by Jean Baudrillard is a well-known philosophical treatise that birthed Morpheus' "desert of the real."
These are tough books, but they provide terrific insight into the thought process behind the Matrix itself. Readers who would prefer to take the blue pill instead and jaunt through imaginary worlds in search of a similar fix to Neo's journey through ones and zeros toward his personal nirvana will find plenty of science fiction to enjoy,...

Considering how bad the first season was, the only question regarding the second one was if it would continue in the dumped-down, blind-action oriented style of the first one, or if a space for improvement actually existed in the last installment of the iconic franchise. The answer is that the new season is better, but not better enough. Let us take things from the beginning though.
PSS9 hears of a Russian cyberbrain engineer named Kukushkin claiming to have knowledge about the Posthumans’ code while seeking asylum in India. Kukushkin is poisoned with polonium by a Russian assassin before the group can save him, but the autopsy shows the corpse was a robotic body double. Motoko tasks Batou and Purin with finding the real Kukushkin. As the two search his room, they stumble upon a Posthuman woman named Suzuka Mizukane, who becomes one of the main villains in this season. A bit later,...
