Very recently, the music of Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana was launched. Spearheaded by the leading men of the film, Vivaan Shah and Gurmeet Choudhary, the event was also graced by singers Ankit Tiwari, Sukhwinder Singh and Palak Mucchal. However the focal point of the film, Akshara Haasan (who plays Laali), was missing from the event.
“That was because her uncle Chandrahasan (elder brother of Kamal Haasan) passed away in London. The 82-year-old producer-lawyer was at the residence of his daughter Anu Hasan, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. It was a tragic moment for Akshara due to which she could not make it for the event,” informs our source.
However, as the adage goes, the show must go on, and hence the makers decided to proceed with the event and none of the fun-n-frolic stopped either in the spirit of the film’s celebratory narrative. As for Akshara...

Mumbai, July 8: Manyata Dutt hopes "Lootera", which released on the same day as her husband Sanjay Dutt's "Policegiri", also does well at the box office as it is like a family film for her.
While Vikramaditya Motwane-directed "Lootera" has been co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and and Phantom Films, "Policegiri" was T.P. Aggarwal and Rahul Aggarwal's production venture. Both the films came out Friday.
"I hope it ('Policegiri') does well and 'Lootera' also does well. Ekta (Kapoor) calls me 'bhabhi' and of course, Sonakshi calls me 'bhabhi' and bhaiya to Sanju. So that is also my family film. It's good there is no competition,.

Sonakshi Sinha is in for some real interesting weekend ahead. After working in five back to back hero-centric films (Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Son of Sardaar, Dabangg 2), four of which crossed the 100 crore mark, she would now be seen in her first ever outing which has both her and hero in equal measures. Even for Ranveer, this is an acid test of sorts since after being seen as a flamboyant personality in Band Baaja Baraat followed by Ladies v/s Ricky Behl, he would be seen in a much sober avatar on screen. What has caught attention so far is the simplicity factor in this Vikramaditya Motwane affair. If the promos are any indication, this one appears to be a classy outing in the offering. This also means that the film would find maximum patronage, at least to begin with, in premium multiplexes at major cities with all India opening in the 50% range.

Despite being jailed, Sanjay Dutt is trying to do his bit for the Uttarakhand victims. While the makers of Policegiri were keen on promoting the film in Dubai, Dutt took this as an opportunity to help the ones in pain. The actor, who was recently imprisoned, wrote a letter to wife Maanyata saying that instead of spending the money on promotions, they should organize a charity event and collect funds for the Uttarakhand flood victims. Policegiri producer Rahul Aggarwal, who is impressed with Sanjay's big-heartedness, says, "It's very touching that Sanjay actually decided to collect funds for these victims rather than promoting the movie in Dubai." Adding further, Aggarwal, who is also involved with the Write2Sanjay initiative says, "This is not the first time he has been involved in charity. During Tsunami too, Sanjay had raised about Rs. 2 crores for the victims." Also being the well wishers of Sanjay Dutt,...

Mumbai, May 29: Rahul Aggarwal, producer of Sanjay Dutt-starrer "Policegiri", asserts he is against 'frivolous publicity' and will not use 'sympathy card' to promote his movie.
Sanjay is currently serving his three-and-a-half year jail sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case in the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune. He surrendered May 16.
"That's one card, which I don't want to play because people should not be feeling that I am playing the sympathy card. What is happening is unfortunate. Nevertheless, the film has to be released. But I am not going to be doing any frivolous publicity," Rahul told reporters Tuesday at the first.

The Indian Supreme Court has approved of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt’s request for more time before returning to jail. Dutt has been granted four more weeks of freedom under “humanitarian grounds.” He made this request in order to fulfil his film commitments before returning to jail on the grounds of illegally possessing weapons back in 1993 during the Mumbai blasts.
Dutt was initially told to surrender himself by 18 April in order to complete his five year sentence, 18 months of which he spent back in 2006.
