Australian morning show host Natalie Barr called Meghan Markle a “tosser” live on air following the duchesses’ recent tell-all interview.
“I couldn't even stomach getting through the whole article,” Barr, who is reportedly known for her candour, told her cohost David Koch.
“I think in Australia we’d say she’s just full of it. She’s a tosser. She’s a total tosser,” she continued.
“That’s how we would describe her. I just can’t… the way she speaks.”
Another host on the show, Edwina Bartholomew, suggested more sympathetically: “I think she has a very different narrative, perhaps, in the US to what is being accepted in the UK.”
Barr responded: “Or just everywhere in the world!” as Koch interjected: “That’s Eddie’s code for tosser!”

Nine's 'True Story with Hamish and Andy'..
At the half-way point of the 2017 ratings year, the Seven, Nine and Ten networks all have something to crow about, and Australian-made dramas and reality shows continue to dominate.
Seven.s primary channel has won the prime-time ratings battle for 24 consecutive weeks, ranks at .No. 1 in total viewers and in the 16-39, 18-49s and 25-54 demographics, and has the year's top show, My Kitchen Rules.
Nine.s boast is that it is the only commercial network to grow its 6 pm-midnight share across total people and all demos for weeks 7 to 26, excluding Easter, while Seven and Ten have lost shares on those metrics.
Despite its corporate problems, Ten says it delivered three of the top seven Australian reality shows among 25 to 54s, the top three game/quiz shows and the top four Us drama series.

Apparently Today Show host Karl Stefanovic forgot for a second that he lived in Australian, where the spiders are as big as your head and giant sharks leap out of the water in an effort to keep you from going near any form of water ever again. After watching a terrifying segment on how the Discovery Channel now has better technology to study sharks, which ended with footage of the biggest shark we've ever seen leaping out of the water, Karl and his cohost Lisa Wilkinson's were scared speechless. And as Australians they're probably used to the weird, freaky stuff that happens in nature down under. (Again, have you seen their spiders?!) So when a video leaves them looking like this: You know...

This is one of those points people make where you say, “Well, duh.” But you’re also glad they made it because nothing has changed since the last time someone made it. Women working in the media have it harder than their male counterparts.
Karl Stefanovic, an Australian newscaster for Today, proved this by wearing the same suit on air for over a year. He wore the blue, "cheap Burberry knock-off" two days in a row, and when no one noticed, he kept wearing it. For a week, then a month, then a year.
Karl thought of the social experiment came after co-anchor Lisa Wilkinson talked about viewers spending more time critiquing her fashion sense than her journalistic work (fast forward to 27:00 in the lecture below).

Steady: “We’d prefer that the parties came to agreement for stability’s sake.”
Speculation that Nine Entertainment could be heading into receivership has left the country’s most influential media buyers unruffled.
Nine boss David Gyngell was reported to have said today that conflict between the hedge funds that control the network could send Nine into receivership, unless lenders find a way to shrink Nine’s debt mountain.
A story in the Herald Sun suggested that the networks major talent, such as Today presenter Karl Stefanovic and Big Brother host Sonia Kruger, would face pay cuts as a result.
But media buyers were unmoved by the news.
John Steedman, chairman of GroupM, Australia’s largest media buying group, said: “The big question for media buyers is, can the parties involved agree on a deal to keep Nine going as it stands? But in any case, we don’t see...

Nine’s breakfast show Today, which has been in the Us this week, registered a rare win over rival Sunrise on Seven yesterday.
The Karl Stefanovic-fronted program won the morning time slot by 13,000 viewers, bringing in 362,000 with wins over Sunrise in Sydney and Melbourne.
Sunrise rated with 349,000, edging the contest in Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide.
But Nine’s reality format Big Brother suffered a fall on last week’s ratings, down from 1.057m to 895,000 – although it was the top show in the 16-39 demographic.
The ABC’s performance on Wednesdays is looking healthier with the return of The Chaser and Gruen Planet. The latter rated with just shy of 1m last night, while The Chaser: Hamster Wheel brought in 843,000 – up from 791,000 last week and its return of 784,000 at the end of September.

Now if most TV shows accidentally aired a broadcast in which the interviewee was clearly slaughtered, people might be talking about it.
But with the ratings-allergic Breakfast on Ten, that duty falls to Dr Mumbo who happened to be watching this morning when the very merry man stumbled into their London studio to talk about Black Caviar.
During the course of the interview, Black Caviar’s barrier attendant Glen Darrington told Andrew Rochford that he had spent a nice day at the races, where happily it was Ladies Day. By the time he was on the air, it was well after 11pm in London.
Those looking online on Ten’s catch-up video service may notice there’s a gaping hole for what went out at 8.20 this morning.
When Dr Mumbo asked Ten’s press office for a copy of the video he was sternly told: “We won’t be sending it externally.

Carrie Bickmore has revealed that she still cannot believe that she has been nominated for a Gold Logie award. The Australian television presenter, who fronts The Project alongside Dave Hughes and Charlie Pickering, admitted that it feels "surreal" to receive a nod for the prestigious prize because she never thought she would be considered. Bickmore told the Sunday Herald Sun: "I used to sit next to [former colleague] Rove [McManus] and he would get up and get the Gold and I used to think that was such an honour. I never thought I'd ever get a nomination, so I'm just enjoying it." Other nominees for the Gold Logie include comedian Hamish Blake, breakfast TV presenter Karl Stefanovic, Spicks and Specks host Adam Hills, actress Asher Keddie and Home and Away's Esther Anderson. It was another dreary Sunday for Ten, with the first Sunday airing of Seven’s My Kitchen Rules putting a sizeable dent in the ratings of Ten’s top shows.
Although Ten’s New Girl and Modern Family both made the top five in the 16-39 demographics, an hour-long episode of Mkr in their time-slot hastened the decline of new comedy New Girl, which was down from 1.075m viewers last week to 783,000, according to preliminary reports from OzTam.
Modern Family fell from 1.079m last week to 872,000 last night.
Ten’s spy thriller Homeland, a first episode of which aired when Mkr had just finished at 8.30pm, was also down, from 901,000 to 810,000. A second episode drew 702,000.
Nine went well with Great Barrier Reef, which combined BBC footage with the narration of Karl Stefanovic to get ratings past the million mark. The show, on at 6.30pm, put a stop to the ratings...

The London Olympics will be available to free to air viewers in HD, Nine has revealed.
The announcement came as part of Nine’s launch event for its first coverage of the Games since winning the rights from Seven. The Olympics begin in late July and run into August.
In common with rivals Seven and Ten, Nine’s main channel is in standard definition only. But for the duration of the games, it will be simulcasting with Gem which is in high definition.
Meanwhile, partly because of the time difference with the UK, Nine’s Olympics will be on virtually around the clock.
This includes competition coverage from 6.30pm through the night to 9am. This will then be followed by a two hours highlights compilation which will also air again in the afternoon.
Although the Today show will not air during the Olympics, presenters Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson and Cameron Williams...

From the advertising dollars to the ratings rivalry – television’s earliest timeslot is big business. Brooke Hemphill sets her alarm and goes on set to find out the perfect recipe for making breakfast TV.
It’s after midnight on a Thursday evening in Sydney’s Cbd. The streets are largely deserted as the final day of the working week looms. While the nine to five set are safely tucked up in bed, in the heart of the city, Seven’s Martin Place studio is quiet, although never sleeping. Several journalists staff the newsroom on the first level and one flight of stairs above, two producers work the overnight shift for Seven’s market-leading breakfast program, Sunrise. Soon they will be joined by line producer David ‘Dougie’ Walters who is about to begin his day.
At a time when hospitality workers and university students contemplate calling it a night, Walters is at his desk.
