In 2019, rumors circulated that Shia Labeouf and Mel Gibson would be featured in a new movie about the affluent Ashkenazi Jewish noble banking Rothschild family. The project, which was said to delve into the mysterious and secretive world of one of the wealthiest families in history, was met with excitement by fans.
However, since the initial announcement, there have been few or no updates regarding the status of the film, causing many to wonder: What happened to Gibson’s Rothschild movie? The project was supposed to be helmed by Tetris director Jon S. Baird.
Mel Gibson in the John Wick spin-off, The Continental
Speculation has been rife concerning the causes of the apparent delay or possible demise of the project. The movie’s title and subject matter caused controversy then, and Gibson was forced to deny any link between Rothchild and the wealthy Jewish banking dynasty of the same name.

Bunk’d, which is currently the Disney Channel’s longest running sitcom, is to conclude after the seventh series.
From early 2000s classics like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire to The Suite Life franchise, That’s So Raven and the hugely succesful Hannah Montana (which was spun off into feature film Hannah Montana: The Movie in 2009), Disney’s formula of well cast, high concept sitcoms has put it at the top of the tween sitcom tree for several decades.
One of its more recent successes was Jessie, which provided a star vehicle for Debby Ryan after several years in The Suite Life On Deck.
The show saw Ryan play the titular character, who acted as a nanny for three kids – Zuri, Ravi, Luke and Emma, played by Skai Jackson, Karen Brar, Cameron Boyce and Peyton List, respectively. Jessie grew into one of Dusney’s most popular shows and eventually ran from 2011 to 2015.

Actor Michael Douglas felt British stars were getting more cinema roles than their American counterparts. According to Douglas, social media and sexuality played a part in stagnating many American performers’ careers.

One particular actor who has had a rather complicated, but fascinating career is Shia Labeouf. He was once a beloved child star who started out on the Disney channel, then made a great transition to 2003’s Holes for his film debut. Heck, I’ve been watching him since his days on the Even Stevens show. His breakout role in Holes was my introduction to his film career and I’ve been paying attention to him ever since. Eventually, the man would become a great leading man in some big movies. The year of 2007 was pretty much his year, as he landed

Christy Carlson Romano is sending a tearful message to her younger self. In a video uploaded to her TikTok captioned, "Let the healing begin," the Even Stevens alum envisioned what it would be like having a conversation with her 16-year-old self about the fate of her future. After her childhood self—which would be around the time she starred on the Disney Channel—asks if they're "totally rich + famous," she responded with writing, "No. We're mostly doing online content, but we're happy." Further reassuring that her happy place in life was destined, she tearfully added, "Everything that happened lead [sic] us to where we meant to be."...

Ever wanted to be a Disney star? Well, Christy Carlson Romano is giving lessons. On Wednesday, March 24, the Even Stevens actress teamed up with TikTok comedians Syd and Olivia in an attempt to recreate the iconic Disney Channel Mickey Mouse ears promo commercial from her days on the network. With bulging eyes, Syd asked, "Can you show us first?" Reluctantly, the star said, "Okay but this is the last time," before adding in her classic excited voice, "Hi! The actress impersonated her Even Stevens co-star in a new episode of her comedy cooking series, Celebrity Kitchen, out on YouTube on Tuesday, Sept. 22. For the 12-minute video, she dressed as Labeouf with a goatee and blue hoodie worn under a red hibiscus Hawaiian print shirt. She decided to make "Côte de Shia Labeouf" as a take on the French rib steak dish, côte de boeuf, while poking fun at Labeouf's method acting. She joked that when Labeouf was cast in Peanut Butter Falcon, "I really wanted to immerse myself in the character," adding, "I was so excited that I...

Shia Labeouf may have risen to fame in Disney Channel’s Even Stevens before becoming one of the most promising actors of his generation thanks to a string of hits like Holes, I, Robot, Eagle Eye, Disturbia, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the first three Transformers movies, but it wasn’t long before he took a turn down a troubled path that saw him quickly fall out of favor with Hollywood, leading to him walking away from blockbuster filmmaking and focusing more on indies.
There’s no denying that Labeouf’s behavior is often more than a little eccentric, but with the right material he can still be an incredibly magnetic and enjoyable screen presence. He’s well known for fully throwing himself into his characters and his next role looks to be no different in that regard, with the actor already turning heads for...

Shia Labeouf has been resurfacing on the pop culture radar lately, shedding single teardrops on Hot Ones and eating a ghost pepper for charity on Ellen. Following his slice-of-life movie The Peanut Butter Falcon, the actor's latest project, Honey Boy, takes a personal turn. Penned by Labeouf, the Amazon Studios film draws on stories from his childhood and his fraught relationship with his father. But just how much of the story is true?
In the fictionalized film version, Labeouf's stand-in is Otis, a troubled movie star. The story alternates between Otis's childhood as his father pushes him to pursue an acting career and his adult life, once he's achieved success. Lucas Hedges (Boy Erased) portrays Otis as an unhinged adult, arrested after a night of drinking. Once put into rehab, Otis reflects upon his childhood with his abusive alcoholic father James. We see flashbacks of him as a kid,...

Now 16 years after the Disney Channel series ended, Romano has revealed she struggled with self-destructive behavior, depression and alcohol abuse after finding “early-onset fame.”
In an essay published Tuesday by Teen Vogue titled “Christy Carlson Romano: My Private Breakdown,” the actress said the image she projected as “pulled together” was far from the truth.
“I have never been perfect or pulled together as my reputation or the successes of my young adulthood might suggest,” Romano, 35, wrote.

My small screen delights were “Sesame Street” (of course), “Wishbone,” “Arthur” and — my favorite — “The Magic School Bus.” It’s no surprise “Magic School Bus” captivated my imagination. The UK’s ITV over the weekend posted both halves of its “Text Santa” charity spoof, in which Lord Grantham discovers what life at the abbey would be like had he never been born — courtesy of a Fabulous angelic tour guide — and it turns out, it would be a lot boozier.
In addition to Clooney, the dual videos — watch Part 1 above, Part 2 below — also include a cameo from Entourage‘s Jeremy Piven.

Actors, to make a sweeping generalisation, enjoy the spotlight. That’s at least part of the reason they go in for the acting lark in the first place; to be seen by millions of people across the world, to be adored by strangers, to have their ego fed, to have people pay attention to them. So it stands to reason that when they decide to quit their chosen profession they go and make a big song and dance about it, too. Just look at the recent shenanigans of the kid from Even Stevens.
There are exceptions to that rule, though. Actors who quietly disappeared, fading into obscurity rather than burning out in a blaze of self-promotion for whatever other field they’re devoting their time to (which usually culminates in them returning to acting after all; I call this “Jay-z retirement”). There are actors who don’t necessarily intend to stop working,...

Prompted by who-knows-what reasoning, Alec Baldwin recently decided to bid farewell once more to the public spotlight via a long and meandering essay. Published in the February 24, 2014 print edition of New York Magazine and then online at Vulture yesterday evening, the missive seems to have no catalyst. Instead Baldwin is simply 'fed up' with how the media machine works in the 21st century. So now he's going to take his ball and home..this time for super serious you guys. You can read his rant in its entirety over here but I've saved you the trouble by pulling out the choicest bits. Can you live-blog a written article? Well if you couldn't before today, you can now. Here we go! 'Alec Baldwin: Good-bye, Public Life' Off to a great start. This title sets the tone for the essay. And that tone is a letter scrawled in a notebook,...

Christy Romano's wedding pics are here! Just days after the Even Stevens star married her producer hubby Brendan Rooney in Alberta, Canada, E! News has obtained some pics from the newlyweds' gorgeous winter ceremony. In one photo, the happy couple pose arm-in-arm, Romano in her beautiful strapless Lazaro gown and Rooney in his black and white Hugo Boss tux. The duo stands on the aisle where they wed as the actress holds her bouquet of white flowers. Christmas decorations can be seen glistening in the background. In the other photo, the lovebirds pose on a snow-covered mountaintop in front of the majestic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (the venue where they got married). The breathtaking forest and...

It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.

Fact: After you watch Eden Sher’s Pop Culture Personality Test, you’ll want to be her best friend.
Why? Because The Middle star loves Mean Girls (she used to say biting lines from the movie on her own boyfriend!) and Even Stevens and admits to weird childhood crushes.
Sue Heck has recently found love on The Middle, which airs Wednesdays on ABC, but we’re officially crushing on Eden. Watch below:

Oh sweet mother of mercy what a show. Sorry that this is late coming, but I was busy yesterday catching up on the earlier-than-expected third season of Game of Thrones - I'm proud to report that the 3,284 dueling clans of that dirty-haired epic have nothing on the destructive power of the Gallagher family. I'm in it for the laung haul!
Let's begin.
Fiona (Emmy Rossum) tells Jimmy (Justin Chatwin) that he looks like a baby rabbit when he sleeps. She's still maneuvering the whole "moving to Ann Arbor" thing, and her latest solution involves her getting a job there and moving with all the kids. Jimmy is So into the idea.
Downstairs, Mandy (Emma Greenwell) wakes up Lip (Jeremy Allen White), who slept on the couch, to tell him she wants to get to school early so she can steal tater tots from the cafeteria for Mickey's wedding. There are...

Aside from the time he showed the entire world his penis, Shia LeBeouf has kept relatively quiet since the Transformers franchise dropped its last flick, resorting to getting in nasty bar fights for press and not much movie whorin'. But rest assured, Even Stevens fans, The Beouf is back and ready to rumble with Hollywood's biggest heavy hitters. Political saga The Company You Keep--previously released overseas but making its way stateside come April--stacks him with Robert Redford, Susan Sarandon, Nick Nolte, Stanley Tucci, Terrence Howard, Anna Kendrick, and many more extremely talented people. But is he good enough to share the screen with people who aren't angry car robots? Decide for yourself, the trailer for The Company You Keep is below:
The Company You Keep begins a limited release rollout in New York and Los Angeles beginning on April 5th. Will you be checking out the film? Let us know in the comments!

Since Disney Channel announced that it’s developing a spinoff to ABC’s 1990s classic Boy Meets World, fans of the series have been jumping at any information they can get.
The spinoff, called Girl Meets World, will be told through the eyes of 13-year-old Riley, the daughter of former teen lovebirds Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel).
The initial announcement left viewers excited yet hesitant — and asking a lot of questions. Would Savage and Fishel reprise their roles? Would the series capture the feel of the original? Would other beloved characters, such as Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong), Eric Matthews (Will Friedle) and Mr. Feeny (William Daniels), make triumphant returns?
It’s since been reported that Savage and Fishel will return, and Boy Meets World co-creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs will oversee the spinoff. In a thank-you note to fans,...

Lawless is not the gritty, realistic, slice-of-America’s-criminal-history for which you might have been hoping; instead it is gloriously overdone, cheesy, trite, and completely meaningless.
I’m beginning to think Shia LeBoeuf is not a very good actor. I really liked him the first time I saw him in anything, which I think was that Nickelodeon show Even Stevens (don’t ask), and I said, “that kid is pretty good.” Then he ended up making really huge blockbustery type films with absolutely no meaning and really horrible dialogue like Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Stupid Alien Crystal Skull Things. I thought, before I saw Lawless, that maybe he just picks really shitty movies that don’t show how good of an actor he is.

Recently retitled Lawless from The Wettest County in the World, the title it originally took from the source novel by Matt Bondurant, the latest from John Hillcoat and Nick Cave is a solidly told tale of moonshiners in depression-era Franklin County and is based on the real life (mis)adventures of the Bondurant brothers. Here played by Tom Hardy, Shia LeBouf and Jason Clarke, the brothers become conduits for writer Nick Cave to explore a number of ideas surrounding masculinity and the idea of ‘becoming a man’. At the centre is LeBouf as Jack Bondurant, described by the deliciously villainous Special Agent Rakes (Guy Pearce) as the “runt of the litter”, and Jack’s efforts to move out from behind the shadow of his older brother Forrest (Hardy). He also begins take over the moonshining business in the process, just as the law begins to crack down on illegal distilleries.

Despite all evidence to the contrary (her acting roles, her famous father, her sensationally sardonic personality), Zelda Williams doesn't consider herself funny. But as more and more people catch wind of her delightfully dry and wonderfully offbeat webseries, Checked Out, Zelda will have a tougher time convincing people she funny doesn't run in her family.
Insider.com: What appealed to you about this project?
Zelda Williams: Checked Out used to be called Heinous People and the script was these awful people who work in a Trader Joe's – that just really made me smile. I love this kind of filmmaking because it's ultra-low budget and brings creative people, that didn't have a venue, to the table and gives them a platform for their voice. We shot it in the downstairs of a closed mortuary – it was ridiculous, but it was a blast. I couldn't have asked for a better comedy experience because I've pretty much stayed away so...

When we came across this picture of Shia LeBeouf hanging out with comedians Jim Gaffigan and Thomas Lennon, our minds came to a screeching halt. No, it wasn’t just because of the sheer randomness of the people gathered in the photo. It’s something much bigger, scragglier and grizzlier. We are of course talking about Shia’s beard, which has now officially reached epic proportions. Is he trying out for a part in Young Santa, the St. Nick biopic that we just made up right now? We hope, because we bet it would be Oscar bait. But truly the best part of his facial hair explosion is how he appears to have waxed the tip of his mustache. It definitely adds to that whole “dastardly but debonair villain” look. We get it, Shia, you’re not a kid anymore! But we’ll still always love Even Stevens.

After last week's Worst Sleepover Ever, Shameless picked up the pace a bit this week with an episode filled with surprise reveals, misunderstandings, and of course the requisite levels of booze, vomit and sex. All in a day's work!
We start things off on a yacht, momentarily confusing my Sunday night Showtime-watching self into thinking that this is actually Dexter. My confusion is doubled when the group of seafaring revelers snag the catch of the week: a corpse! Ah, but this isn't the work of the Lake Michigan Butcher - it's the thawed-out remains of Eddie Jackson.

Back at Gallagher House, Carl (Ethan Cutosky) has rented Frank's room to a hooker known as Double-Bag Bev - a name she didn't get from working at the grocery store. We also get a flash nightmare of Carl as a drug mule about to swallow a condom full of some kind of narcotic.

What is it about Shia LeBeouf that makes him a target for testosterone fueled bar fights? Is it the name Shia? Does the "Even Stevens" thing remind folks of their terrible childhoods? Do Decepticons walk among us, constantly beating Shia up in an attempt to find the all-spark? Whatever it is, Shia's found himself in another boozy brawl.
TMZ has obtained video of a portly shirtless man giving Shia the business right to the head on the sidewalk in front of a Vancouver bar; LeBeouf is in town shooting "The Company You Keep." The rest of the video features Shia's bro-squad talking him down. We give two thumbs up to his boys for doing their job pretty well; Shia doesn't look happy.

Krista is the next Cannonballer to have reached 52 books! Congratulations Krista! Congratulations also go out to Even Stevens who has met her original goal of a Half Cannonball! (She's going to continue on to see if she can now complete the full Cannonball.) You both are fabulous! You know me, I'm not overly fond of cute animal links unless they're dinosaur related. But Friday's aren't about me, they're about you, dear readers. And as much as I try to fight it, I can't deny that you love your cute animal things. So here, interspersed amongst talk of live crabs in vending machines and Right Said Fred, is a heavy dusting of Pajiba Loves Animals links. Enjoy! We'll start with this link from the lovely Mrs. Julien which lists 15 Cute Animals That Could Kill You. Why don't I know anyone named Loris? I would call her "Slow Loris" every damn day. (Mother Nature Network)
Another thing I don't get? Nutella. Why not just eat chocolate? It's chocolate-y-er! For those of you who love Nutella and want to smother a slow loris in it, this Food Pyramid, courtesy of Lainey, is for you. (Skull Swap)

Happy Friday! Before I get to linking, one quick bit of business. Dearest, darling jubilat. Yesterday you sweetly asked for a reminder not to read this column. This is your gentle reminder, my dove. Don't keep reading! Get out while you can! Is he/she/it gone? Okay, good, we've done our good deed for the day. Happy Crowdsourced Friday! One of my favorite things about It Takes A Village People Pajiba Loves is that I get to find out what sites you, my rapacious readers, enjoy. Today we start with two Mental Floss links. The first one from paultera lists several words you may not know are trademarked. Really, Jacuzzi? I guess I'll go back to calling them Roiling Watery Stew Pots Of Human Filth And Contagion. Oh, or hot tubs. That works too. (Mental Floss)

If you notice, my dears, that today's Pajiba Love is a little slapdash, well that's because I'm moving my entire life today. In my car. The links are grade-a koala-tea, but the descriptors might maybe be a little lacking. Apologies, my little packing peanuts. I'll make it up to you somehow. First of all, my rapacious red envelopes, we were discussing earlier this week whether it was prudent to make a switch when the new Netflix pricing system goes into effect. Here's a handy little tool that will analyze your account and tell you which option is best-suited for your particular habits. Thanks, Even Stevens! (Reuters)

Oh, Shia. You're all grown up.
One minute you're the goofy kid from "Even Stevens," the next you're smoking weed and shooting music videos for "it" hip-hop stars. Keeping us on our toes, that's for sure.
Labeouf has directed, shot and edited a new music video for Kid Cudi's 2010 single "Marijuana," starring the rapper as he goes on a smoke-filled adventure through the streets of Amsterdam. From a technical standpoint, it's not terribly high-tech -- Labeouf appears partway through in a shot of a mirror where we see he's shooting most of the video on a digital camera and mini-tripod -- but the assemblage of footage is a unique look behind the curtain at Kid Cudi's career.
This isn't Labeouf's first foray into directing. Two years ago he directed a snazzy, sharp video for rapper Cage's "I Never Knew You," but "Marijuana" takes a severe departure in its...
