- Shannon Lee Avnsoe is a Texas born American actress best known for her extensive stage work, and her role in the film festival favorite, "Morning Calm."
As a writer/producer, Shannon has developed multiple film projects with screenwriter/playwright Horton Foote (Pulitzer, Tony, and Academy Award winner) and Evolution Entertainment (Saw franchise, Dallas Buyers Club). She is developing several "true life" stories under her production company, Killer Dove Productions, many of which have received national exposure on Oprah and 48 Hours.
Shannon also works as an actress on both stage and screen. Based out of Los Angeles, she originated the role of Susan in the long-running, One West Wacker (Critics Choice), written by Wil Calhoun (Emmy nominated). She played Nancy Shedman in the West Coast Premiere of Holy Ghosts, written by Romulus Linney (Obie Award) and selected as a Los Angeles Times "Top Ten Pick of the Year."
As a longstanding member of the Company of Angels, Shannon has performed and originated numerous and wide-ranging roles. As Backstage wrote in one performance review, "Shannon Lee Avnsoe covers a remarkable range from whining child to lascivious woman, and does so with a great deal of subtlety." The award-winning and historical theater company is recognized as the original 99 Seat Theatre and the oldest Repertory Theatre Company in Los Angeles.
Prior to relocating to the West Coast, Shannon studied with and worked for Stella Adler in New York, eventually moving in to live with her as an assistant. Stella is quoted as saying,"Shannon is a jewel. She is the joy of everybody's life."
