Amazon Studios has put into development Infinite Thread, described as a series that blends true crime and science fiction, from the Ramsay brothers (Into the Dark), Kingdom creator Byron Balasco, Justin Lin and his Perfect Storm Entertainment and Universal TV, where Lin is under a deal.
Infinite Thread began as a spec script written by Julius and Alston Ramsay, who also serve as co-showrunners alongside Balasco. In it, after a pair of twins are abducted, a determined sheriff deputy embarks on a quest into the unknown that will alter the course of human history. Infinite Thread blends true crime and science fiction in its depiction of one man’s epic investigation into a crime that breaks the boundaries of time and space.
The Ramsays executive produce with Belasco, along with Lin and Andrew Schneider for Perfect Storm. The project is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Universal TV, a division of Universal Television Group.

Having worked as a speechwriter at Washington, D.C., Alston Ramsay has unique insights into the world of politics under both the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations, making him the perfect person to write The Current Occupant, which follows a psychiatric ward patient who believes he's the President of the United States. The latest entry in Blumhouse and Hulu's Into the Dark series, and directed by Alston's brother Julius, The Current Occupant is now streaming on Hulu, and we caught up with Alston in our latest Q&a feature to discuss how his real world experience in politics (including a year spent in Afghanistan) shaped him as a writer, teaming up with his brothers to make movies, and the films and TV series that influenced the institutionalized horror of The Current Occupant.
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us, and congratulations on Into the Dark: The Current Occupant!

With Netflix currently going through a rare drought in terms of adding new content, competitors like Hulu and Disney Plus are continuing to put out fresh material to keep us busy. The former, in particular, are adding some great movies and series for July 13th to 19th, including The Weekend, Into the Dark and documentary Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love, on top of recently released critical favorites like Palm Springs.
From today, Hulu users can catch up on My Scientology Movie, the Louis Theroux-produced look at the controversial organization, as well as the Canadian drama The Rest of Us, Aisling Chin-Yee’s well-regarded directorial debut from 2019. On Wednesday the 15th, meanwhile, we’re getting The Weekend, wherein a comedian finds herself caught between her ex, his new girlfriend and another guest, leading to some predictably complicated farce.

Monday got you feeling down, readers? I can relate. And you know what is one of the things guaranteed to turn my mood around? Slasher movies. I love every subgenre of horror, but there’s something about slashers that takes me to my horrifically happy place. With that in mind, I’ve gone ahead and put together this list of 31 slasher movies that are streaming for free on a variety of platforms, including Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Shudder (whose selection of slashers was *chef’s kiss*), and Tubi TV. Oh, and I just had to include Scream 4 on here because it is one of my chosen hills of horror that I will die on until I take my very last breath.
So, if you’re looking to slice and dice your way through the month of October, these 31 movies might help. Slash on, everyone!

On The Purge, murder is still murder, even when it's for a good cause.

This review of The Purge contains spoilers.
The Purge Season 1 Episode 5
The New Founding Fathers, at least those high up enough in the organization, have granted themselves immunity from The Purge. I would assume that this doesn't cover the Stanton family, given their relatively small time status in the grand scheme of things, but I wonder. Purge night has a surprising amount of rules for a night that has no rules. What happens to those that break them? If you're an anti-nffa organization, like the roadblock set up in earlier episodes to keep Nffa tourists out of a poor neighborhood or an armed group of revolutionaries like the ones that smash their way into the Stanton compound in the very exciting finale of “Rise Up,” who exactly is going to stop you from doing whatever...

"Is there anything you've done that would make someone come after you?" IFC Midnight has debuted the official trailer for a Hitchcockian thriller titled Midnighters, the feature directorial debut of editor Julius Ramsay (of work on shows like "The Walking Dead", "Battlestar Galactica", "Flashforward"). Back in June, the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival took over Southern California, hosting screenings at numerous locations and featuring numerous genre films that horror and sci-fi fans should definitely keep on their radars in the coming months. Here are my thoughts on three of the movies that I had the opportunity to watch at the festival:
Replace: As far genre feature film debuts go, co-writer/director Norbert Keil has a lot to be proud of with Replace, a stunning and beautifully executed cinematic mystery that’s part body horror/part psychological thriller. Something of a hallucinatory fever dream at times, Keil has crafted an intriguing and chilling portrait of just how far some folks are willing to go in the name of vanity, and the whole affair is anchored by a trio of powerhouse performances by Rebecca Forsythe, Barbara Crampton, and Lucie Aron.

Julius Ramsay has made his living editing a number of the better genre television shows of the last couple decades, including “Battlestar Galactica,” “Alias,” and now “The Walking Dead.” With an eye toward making his own films, in 2008 he directed a 20-minute short, “Pivot,” that achieved some success on the film festival circuit.

It’s a shame that the adult mystery-thriller genre has largely gone out of fashion in Hollywood, as it’s been the source of some of the best dramas the town has had to offer over the decades. Thankfully, the independent world is there to pick up the slack. With Midnighters, the new film about a plan to cover up a dead body that slowly spins out of control, it looks like there might be a new addition to the realm of juicy pulp puzzlers. Directed by Julius Ramsay, a longtime editor in television who recently moved into directing with episodes of The Walking Dead, Outcast, and Scream, the movie follows a couple on their way home from celebrating New Year’s Eve who accidentally hit and kill a man, and decide to hide the body—only to discover he had their address in his pocket.

While there are a number of excellent television episodes that aired during the first half of the year, not all of them made our list, due to a number of reasons, chief among them the simple fact that there are too many episodes potentially worthy of inclusion for the entire panel to watch them all. This is where our individual picks come in. Each panelist was given one slot to fill with any episode that hadn’t made the list, but which they felt belonged there. Here are our individual picks, to complement our list of the Best Episodes of 2015 (so far):

The Walking Dead, Season 5, Episode 10: “Them”
Directed by Julius Ramsay
Written by Heather Bellson
Airs Sundays at 9pm Et on AMC
In “Four Walls and a Roof,” Gareth told Rick and co. “You’ve never really known what it is to starve.” As “Them” opens, we witness Maggie sitting and crying, and sipping her tears from her hand out of pure desperation. The group has seen lows, but now they’re realizing what it is to starve and to really go without anything to fend for and live on. The next scene pictures Daryl digging up grubs and eating them for lunch, completely oblivious to the group, who waits for something to swoop down and save them. Rick is the only individual certain of their abilities, but the time has come where even the militant Abraham is doubting how much further the group can go on.

The gang is feeling understandably morose in this week's episode. Can they trust a new arrival?
This review contains spoilers.
5.10 Them
The group is at a weird point in their journey. There's no food. There's no water. There's no gasoline. They're short two friends (and relatives). Everyone seems to be at a point where they're ready to die. As Rick says, “We are the walking dead,” and they definitely look it. Pushed to the point of exhaustion, the group is low on everything you need to survive, but especially the will to keep going. There's a reason Michonne wanted to hang out in a zombie-infested gated community.
This episode comes at the perfect time in the season. After the startling death of Beth followed closely by the startling death of Tyreese, it's not surprising that the show's cast of characters are feeling a little morose. Hungry and tired and slowly dying?...

Director: Julius Ramsay. Writer: Heather Bellson. Cast: Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Glenn Rhee and Lauren Cohan. "The Walking Dead" has returned from hiatus, with two episodes now. The second episode, in the latter part of Seas. 5, is titled "Them." Though, there was very little of "Them" is this showing. After the loss of two characters in two episodes (Beth and Tyreese), the filmmakers have slowed down the pacing, significantly with this entry. Very sombre and miserable in tone, "Them" introduced a new character and another trust test, or two. Are there any survivors out there that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) can trust and not kill? He is the butcher of Woodbury, afterall. Also, this weak entry in the apocalypse was delivered via an experienced duo of showrunners: Julius Ramsay and Heather Bellson, so this showing felt a little flat, overall. Rick and his crew are making their way through Richmond, at this point.

"The Walking Dead" continues its onslaught as one of the most amazing horror-themed television shows to ever hit the airwaves. Season 4 brought new characters, expanded some old favorites, evoked tears and cheers, and of course had its share of zombie action.
Tomorrow, August 26th, "The Walking Dead" Season 4 hit Blu-ray/DVD via Anchor Bay, and with that in mind we decided to look back at our favorite moments from this season. Characters coming and going, separation and reunion, death and new life... Season 4 brought us "The Walking Dead" like we'd never seen it before.
We've got our Top 13 here, but as always, we'll start with some honorable mentions. Bob's raging alcoholism leading to the complete destruction of the liquor store kicked off the action in Episode 1, and the discovery of David and Karen's murdered and burned bodies was the first real mysterious firecracker Season 4 gave us.
