Fans of horror anthologies like Creepshow or Tales from the Crypt will find plenty to love with The Penny Dreadful Picture Show. The film has some flaws, but they are easy to look past thanks to a great blend of horror and humor and the icon creating performance of Eliza Swenson as our tour guide Penny. Writers/Directors Nick Everhart, Leigh Scott and Eliza Swenson have put together an eclectic collection of horror shorts with Penny (who is just looking for love, even if she has to find it on the Internet), Wolfboy (Dillon Geyselaers) and Ned (Collin Galyean) introducing each as we watch in an abandoned movie theater that serves as Penny’s home and place where she is meeting...

When last seen around these parts, fiery haired actress Tara Cardinal was doing her superhero thang alongside Lou Ferrigno in Liberator. But now she's going back in time for a whole different brand of heroics in The Legend of the Red Reaper...and guess what — she's bringing Uwe Boll along for the ride!
Written and directed by Kristen Barron Stewart, Red Reaper is an action-packed tale filled with witches, demons, war and romance — in other words, everything that makes the world of fantasy go round.
Cardinal stars as the titular Reaper, a warrior born of a witch and destined to save mankind from the return of the exiled demon horde. (No, not the Tea Party. That battle has already been fought and won.) Also appearing are David Mackey, Eliza Swenson, Christian Boeving, Shayne Leighton and Troma founder, eminent bon vivant and madman Lloyd Kaufman.
Red Reaper has been Cardinal's passion project for years.

Legend of the Red Reaper had new life breathed into it after the producers jumped ship along with a large amount of the production budget.
The film, written and directed by Kristen Stewart (no relation to the Twilight actress), had a bumpy ride. It was rewritten, recast and the crew was shaken up. According to the most recent press release, “Houses were foreclosed, some body parts donated to science - but the money was raised to tell a story that I believe in with my heart soul (and some long lost body parts).”
Eventually Uwe Boll came on board as producer.
“Editor after editor jumped ship, holding up the project even further. Finally, Uwe Boll came to the rescue. The project was brought to his attention by lead actress Tara Cardinal, who also appears in two of his other projects, (Zombie Massacre and the Profane Exhibit with Clint Howard). Uwe,...

Whether you love him or hate him, Uwe Boll is back with his latest indie film, “Legend of the Red Reaper.” The film, based on the comic series that shares its name, was directed by Kristen Stewart (not the “Twilight” Kristen Stewart) and stars Tara Cardinal, David Mackey, Ray Eddy and Eliza Swenson. The screenplay was also written by Stewart; other writing credits go to Basha Barron, Arielle Jayme, Tessie Jayme, Kim Pritekel and Ricky Roxburgh. Boll acted as the film’s executive producer. Like I said, the “Twilight” Stewart isn’t behind this film, but the subject matter doesn’t seem to far outside her wheelhouse of sci-fi/horror/action. The film follows a [ Read More ]

Welcome to Elliotsville. It’s like your typical American small town, except the residents are kinda robots. Okay, they’re not so much kinda, they’re pretty much robots. So what happens when you take that set-up and add a gang of sexy female bikers (cause if they were fat and ugly, it just wouldn’t be any fun) and some gun-toting redneck types (I know what you’re thinking: what, there are other types of rednecks?) into the mix? Hopefully lots of blood, gunplay, and exploding robots. Check out a trailer for Leigh Scott’s “Chrome Angels” below, which features some nifty gunplay and lots and lots of exploding squibs.
