Britney Spears's memoir, "The Woman in Me," is one of the year's most highly anticipated book releases. Few public figures have been more scrutinized than Spears over the years. In spite of that, she's inspired much devotion from fans and fascination from the world at large.
"The Woman in Me" is a sad story, detailing how other people have controlled Spears's life since she was young. Most of us know the individual fragments of her story from tabloids - from the time she shaved her head to her release from her 13-year conservatorship in 2021 - but seeing it all laid out together makes her journey much more clear and still a bit disturbing.
In the book, Britney paints the picture of a hard-working woman who loves to sing and dance and just wants to be good, but was heavily taken advantage of throughout her life, even as she raked in millions of dollars.

By the time Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me dropped Tuesday morning, much had already been said — by critics, by the tabloids and by Spears herself, often railing against the former — about the contents of the highly anticipated book. In an excerpt and People cover story, Spears spoke about effects of her decade-plus conservatorship and revealed that she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake. When The New York Times managed to get a copy from a bookstore ahead of publication, key facts about the couple’s breakup were revealed: He did it via text message, and an ensuing interview with Diane Sawyer was one of several “breaking points” for Spears. The Daily Mail even dug up a previously unreleased audition tape for The Notebook — a role that famously went to Rachel McAdams. Throughout these prepublication reveals, Spears took to her Instagram (which she has often used...

Flo Rida agreed to an extensive child-support package for his son during a Family Court hearing in New York City last week. It involves a combination of monthly and annual payments that add up to nearly half a million dollars per year.
The rapper was told to pay $14,000 a month in support and $2,212 a month in health insurance for Zohar Dillard, his six-year-old son who has autism and a neurological disorder called hydrocephalus. He was also made to create a $300,000 escrow account for Zohar’s needs that would need to be restored annually. Israeli film producer Yoav Roeh spoke passionately at the Berlin Film Festival on Sunday about the threat to freedom of speech in Israel under a proposed overhaul of the country’s judiciary by Benjamin Netanyahu’s hard-right government.
“We’re here to celebrate our film and it is also a celebration of Israeli cinema. But when we go back to Israel in a few days, it will not be the same Israel we left,” he told the audience at the end of the screening for Asaf Saban’s Delegation (Ha’Mishlahat).
“The Israeli parliament is about to destroy the Israeli democratic system. The new far-right government that is in power is pushing fascist and racist laws. Israel is committing suicide after 75 years of existence.”
Netanyahu swept to victory in elections last November and went on to create Israel’s most far-right, religious and conservative government in its nearly 75-year history.

Israel’s newly appointed Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar has lashed out against Israeli filmmaker David Wachsmann’s award-winning documentary Two Kids A Day, probing the country’s detention of Palestinian children in the West Bank, and is threatening to take back its state funding.
The minister, who took up office in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new hard-right government at the end of December, has criticized the work for presenting Israeli Defence Forces (Idf) soldiers “as those who harm children, while terrorists are presented as innocent victims”.
Zohar said he had requested Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to investigate whether it would be possible to retroactively take back state money given to the film for its production.
“The Ministry of Culture and Sports under my leadership will not finance works that harm the good name of the State of Israel, both in Israel and in the world,” he was...

Azrael: Everything We Know So Far About The Samara Weaving Action Horror From The You're Next Writer
The reign of Samara Weaving in the horror genre is far from over. Deadline exclusively revealed that the "Ready or Not" actress will be starring in a mysterious new movie from screenwriter Simon Barrett, who wrote "You're Next" and "The Guest." Simply titled "Azrael," this film is billed as an action-horror, an intriguing genre mashup that can be associated with movies like "Predator" and "Overlord."
While little is known about the movie, we do know that it will likely be Barrett's last horror movie for an indefinite amount of time. The screenwriter, a longtime collaborator of director Adam Wingard, revealed this in a Twitter post.
"Azrael is the reason I've spent the last month in Estonia working with my friends E.L. Katz and Dan Kagan. This will also be my last horror project for a long while, because we're putting everything scary we've got into this one. Very excited, but...
