Prince-Bythewood will receive RainmakHER award; Deadwyler will be recognized with the Black Woman Rising Award; Brown with the InfluenceHER Award; Gillespie with the Beacon Award; Sigers-Beedles with the StorytellHER Award; and Williams with the TrailblazHER Award.
This year’s theme is “Her Mic is On: Black Women Owning the Moment,” which, according to the organization, will pay tribute to the “high-profile moments of powerful speeches and words of wisdom that Black women have given to the world in recent years.”

Hallmark has begun production on its first movie under the new Mahogany banner, titled “Unthinkably Good Things.” The film will star Karen Pittman.
The film, set to debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, sees a woman named Allison (Pittman) at a crossroads in her career and love life, in need of the love and support of her two friends Melina (Joyful Drake) and Reesa (Erica Ash). When they visit her in Tuscany, the reunion causes each woman to reexamine the state of her own life and relationships. While they have different personalities and perspectives, they know each other’s truths and help to make life-changing decisions. Jermaine Love and Lance Gross also star.

Exclusive: Insecure and The Steve Harvey Show alum Terri J. Vaughn has signed with Buchwald in all areas.
Vaughn made her debut as a small screen lead in Season 2 of The Steve Harvey Show in the role of Alizay Jenkins, which earned her three NAACP Image Awards.
Vaughn followed that up with appearances on ER, Soulfood, and Girlfriends before boarding All Of Us, executive produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in 2003 where she starred as Jonelle Abrahams for three seasons.
In 2020, she landed the role of investigative reporter and podcaster Rose Cranberry, host of the true-crime series Looking for Latoya on HBO’s Insecure.
She currently stars as a series regular of Ava Duverney’s Cherish the Day for OWN. Vaughn also recently directed her first episodic drama, Tales for BET.

Exclusive: Twenty women of color from the film and TV sectors have formed The Reel Divas, a group that aims to promote black writers, producers and directors and increase awareness of Atlanta as a production hub.
Among the women spearheading the group are actresses Jasmine Guy (A Different World) and Terri J. Vaughn (The Steve Harvey Show), writer-producer Cas Sigers-Beedles (Hamlet & Hutch), producers Tamra Simmons (Surviving R.
