Danny Trejo has boarded the vengeance train. First, he will soon kick some serious ass in "Machete." But there's more! He will also shoot bad guys in "Vengeance," an upcoming film by Gil Medina.
A red band trailer for "Vengeance" has now hit the Web, and it looks pretty intense. The film has that amateurish look and feel to it, but it's got a butt-kicking Trejo all over it, and that's cool, right?
Essentially, Trejo plays a dude who's seen violence destroy his world. He then heads to the streets to battle crime all by himself. 50 Cent and Dallas Page co-star, and the flick hits theaters Nov. 11, 2010.

Danny Trejo is at Comic-Con this afternoon with director (and cousin) Robert Rodriguez to pump up interest in Machete, the film Fox releases in early September. But Trejo has more on his mind tonight than slinging free tacos to the geek contingent (which he is doing). Trejo is using the momentum from Machete, his recent appearance in Predators and the upcoming Spy Kids 4 to begin generating his own branded action vehicles. Might the reformed tough guy—who did hard prison time as a teenager before transforming himself into a drug counselor and finding his way accidentally into a movie career that spans nearly 200 films—be on the verge of a leading man career as the Latino Charles Bronson? Trejo has completed his first film, the Gil Medina-directed Vengeance. Trejo self-financed that action vehicle and when he couldn't get the deal he wanted at Afm, made a plan to give...

Danny Trejo’s Vengeance
Directed by: Gil Medina
Starring: Danny Trejo, Jason Mewes, Donal Logue
Rating: Nr
Release Date: November 11, 2010
Trailer Score: 3/10
My Thoughts: I honestly spent the majority of this trailer wondering if this was a joke. After wasting two and a half minutes of my life on it, I can’t honestly say that I’m any closer to an answer. There’s a purposeful grindhouse feel to it which may attract fans of Tarantino and Roriguez’s collaboration Grindhouse or even fans of the upcoming Rodriguez flick Machete. The thing that those movies have that Vengeance doesn’t is a sense of itself. I can’t tell if it’s making fun of this type of movie or if the aesthetic is intentional, which doesn’t do wonders for me. Trejo’s always been one of those actors you can count on for some trashy fun, but even then,...

Danny Trejo has bought the rights to Paul Millsap's inspirational true story, of rags-to-riches-hardship-over-coming-from-the-depths-of-poverty-with-a-cherry-on-top and will be making a film of it called Ambition. Really? If you heard that Danny Trejo was making a film and you had to guess the genre, would inspirational true sports story be your first guess? In the top five? My first four were all variations on "snuff" and the fifth was just "don't let Danny Trejo know where I live."
As for Paul Millsap's story? Here's the way Cinema Blend describes it:
Trejo and his financing partner Gil Medina are making Ambition, a basketball movie about NBA'er Paul Millsap and his uncle and agent DeAngelo Simmons. Millsap is a 25 year old forward for the Utah Jazz. Ambition will detail his relationship with Simmons after Millsap's family moved in with their uncle. Simmons helped raise Millsap, taught him basketball and eventually became his agent and representative.

It.s tough to look at Danny Trejo and think .feel good. story. Mostly because whenever I look at him my bowels turn to water out of fear. Dude just looks scary. Well he turned around from a criminal life and became a successful and crazy-recognizable actor. Now, according to Deadline, Trejo has acquired the rights to another inspirational story. Is there room for a basketball version of The Blind Side? Actor/producer Danny Trejo thinks he has found one in Utah Jazz player Paul Millsap and his uncle/sports agent DeAngelo Simmons. Trejo, star of Heat and the upcoming film Machete, has acquired rights to the player and agent. Trejo and his ITN partner Gil Medina are turning the story into Ambition, a film they'll shoot later this year. Just as Simmons' own jock dreams were ending, his sister moved back to Louisiana with four sons she needed to keep away from the streets. She asked Simmons to teach them basketball, [...]...
