Even with all the upsets at this year's Daytime Emmy Awards, Dan Kroll (Soap Central) got half of the 20 categories he predicted correct. As with all of our experts, Kroll missed out on "Days of Our Lives" winning Best Drama. However, he did predict the winners in five of the six acting races (Younger Actress tripped him up) and was the only expert to foresee that win by "The Dr. Oz Show" in Talk Show (Informative). Of our other experts who predicted 20 races, Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby) got seven right while Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps) predicted six winners and Tom O'Neil (Gold Derby) foresaw five champs. Richard Simms (Soaps in Depth) nailed four while both Michael Fairman (Michael Fairman Soaps) and Jamey Giddens (Daytime Confidential) got three. Stephanie Sloane (Soap Opera Digest) predicted 10 categories and got half of them right while Nelson Branco (Soap Ope...

Three-time champ "The Bold and the Beautiful" was snubbed in the Drama Series race at last year's Daytime Emmys. However, four of our experts -- Michael Fairman (Michael Fairman Soaps), Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps) and Gold Derby's Tom O'Neil and Paul Sheehan -- are predicting it to prevail this year with its seventh bid. One of our experts -- Dan Kroll (Soap Central) -- is backing reigning champ "General Hospital." Our experts are divided as to who will win Best Actor at the Daytime Emmy awards. Three of them -- Nelson Branco (Soap Opera Uncensored), Jamey Giddens (Daytime Confidential) and Dan Kroll (Soap Central) -- back the bid by Jason Thompson ("General Hospital") who contends in this category for the first time. He was a supporting actor nominee for the past two years for his performance as Dr. Patrick Drake. Related: Will Daytime Emmys darling Heather Tom win again? Two of them -- Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps) and Gold Derby executive editor Paul Sheehan -- expect Doug Davidson to finally prevail after playing Paul Williams on "The Young and the Restless" for 35 years. He contended in this category twice (2003, 2010) and tried his luck in the supporting race in 2011. And Gold Derby founder Tom O'Neil favors Maurice Benard who has ...

Four of our experts foresee Heather Tom ("The Bold and the Beautiful") repeating in the Best Actress race at this year's Daytime Emmys. Those backing the bid by this Daytime Emmy darling are: Dan Kroll (Soap Central), Roger Newcomb (We Love Soaps), Gold Derby founder Tom O'Neil and executive editor Paul Sheehan. Tom has appeared on "The Young and the Restless," "One Life to Live," and "The Bold and the Beautiful," and has been nominated for 14 Daytime Emmy Awards, winning four. NBC has picked up a new Michael J. Fox sitcom for 22 episodes for fall of next year. The show will be about Fox as a dad, battling the day to day, and also Parkinson's disease, which Fox has been living with for some time. Not only am I thrilled because I've had a crush on Alex P. Keaton since I was a teen, but I think it's a bold move to write his disease into the show.

When Kim Zimmer walked onto the set to tape an interview for the third season premiere of our web series, We Love Soaps TV, her first words were, "Plaxico!" Host Roger Newcomb and Jets fan Zimmer always start every conversation out with a little football trash talk. The interview itself was all about her career and new book, "I'm Just Sayin': Three Deaths, Seven Husbands, and a Clone! My Life as a Daytime Diva," which is earning rave reviews.
Along the way, Zimmer shares her thoughts on working for many years on the beloved Guiding Light, including dealing with budget cuts which forced the show into a new "in your face" production model during its last two seasons. She also weighs in on the Daytime Emmys, the future of One Life To Live, drinking during work, having to attend AA meetings and much more. You don't want to miss this!

In Part 1 of our interview with Julia Barr, the Emmy-winning actress shared memories of moving to New York City, landing roles on Ryan's Hope and All My Children, and her 30-year portrayal of Brooke English. In Part 2 below, Barr talks about leaving All My Children, returning in 2010, and tells us what she thinks of the show's move to the web.

Julia Barr: If you see nine seasons of Friends, they kept their writing pretty good. But I think it's difficult for a lot of shows. It's difficult because you have to have a central vision that's very strong that you can...

Emmy Award-winning actress Julia Barr grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she caught the acting bug at age 8 in a local youth theater group. She appeared in a production of "Peter Pan" when she was 13 and continued acting while attending high school and college, as a theater major on a regional campus of Purdue University.

We Love Soaps TV traveled to Las Vegas for the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards which aired Sunday night on CBS produced by Associated Television International. Our team of Damon L. Jacobs, Roger Newcomb and Kevin Mulcahy Jr. weigh in on this year's telecast below. Look for our interviews in the coming days from both the Creative Emmys on Friday and Sunday's televised event.
Kevin Mulcahy Jr.
My first trip to the Daytime Emmys was a sizzling celebration of rich, soulful, comfort-food TV. It was a gala affair with soap opera temptresses, perky game showmen, and glad-handing talk show hosts. Everyone was dressed to the nines and brimming with enthusiasm for one of the only American institutions we all truly share. It was, in fact, an uplifting event that made me feel good about the future of daytime TV.
Believe it or not, my first trip to the Emmys was just the other day.

In Part 2 below, Anderson discusses her last stint at Days, not cheating the audience, and making a living as a writer.
We Love Soaps TV: How much fun was it to write these novels without having to think about sets or actors?
Sheri Anderson: I developed an animated show at one point and it was the same thing where you'd say, "Wow, I can go anywhere!" I had some of The Powers That Be say after the first novel, "This would make a great movie. We should make this a movie." It has 600 foot yachts in the south of France, superstars, Maseratis and Aston Martins crashing.
