- Josef Krips was born on April 8, 1902 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. He was an actor, known for A Cure for Wellness (2016), The Code (2002) and The Cousins (1959). He died on October 13, 1974 in Geneva, Switzerland.

- Led the Vienna Symphony Orchestra from 1970 until 1973.
- Principal conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra from 1950 to 1954.
