Good morning!
Both Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King will be among the first inductees into the Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame. As they should be!
The Village Voice thinks lesbians don't date online. Tell that to all the women I know on OkCupid.
Tomboy was nice enough to release this behind-the-scenes video of their Spring/Summer campaign starring Harmony Boucher.
The Rumpus talked with partners Wendy MacNaughton and Caroline Paul about collaborating on Lost Cat.
Katee Sackhoff may not be playing gay in Riddick, but she's playing straight pretending to be gay, so that counts for something, right? She tells Collider of her character, Dahl:
Well, the fun little tidbit of Dahl is that she just pretends that she’s a lesbian so [the men she's around] don’t do anything.

Having been born and raised in New York you’d think I’d have tapped into the gay scene by now. I haven’t. Where is it?
There are a few bars that have been around forever, but I find them dated and unwelcoming. My favorite gay nights in New York were spent at Confessions, a once a month dance party that was thrown by NY-based party promoter Emily Hall Smith at a straight bar in Park Slope called Mission Dolores. What I liked about it was that the bar drew in its regular Brooklyn crowd and the homos flocked in on top of that. The result was that it wasn’t a campy catered-to-the-ladies event, just a cool bar where your odds of getting laid were higher.
I don’t think I’m alone here when...

I can't believe it's already time for another season of America's Next Top Model. Last night's premiere picked up right where I remember it leaving off - which is to say, ridiculously.
Our fearless leader, Tyra Banks, tosses and turns in her bed as visions of RuPaul — no, wait — visions of herself emulating past contestants dance around her head.
She wakes to tell us it's not a nightmare; it's a reality. She went back through all the old cycles and brought back our favorites for a season of Antm All-Stars (or mostly the people who caused some kind of controversy)!
This season is gonna get cray because not only are the All-Stars coming, but a whole slew of B-d list celebrities will be giving the girls pointers, possibly trying to hit on them and definitely trying to pimp out their new clothing line (Kardashians, I am looking at you).

As 2009 comes to a close, we take a look back at some of the people and events that made this the Best. Lesbian. Decade. Ever. in pop culture.
Luckily for all of us, there was far more information to have mentioned from the last ten years than we could have included in this brief survey. That's why our lists for each year are not intended to be exhaustive, but are instead snapshots of different memorable moments that included the representation of lesbians and bisexual women in film, television, music, literature, comics, sports and the Internet since the year 2000.

Though Kings of Leon scored the prize for Woodie of the Year at the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards, the most popular kids in the room were most certainly bubbly Brooklynites Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino, better known to the music world as Matt and Kim. They stirred up a tremendous amount of fervor during their performance of "Lessons Learned," which opened up the show and featured Kim stage diving and a group of backup singers who gradually stripped down to their underwear as the song rolled on.
The performance was a nod to the video for "Lessons Learned," which features the pair running around nude in Times Square — a clip that took home the Woodie for Best Video. What with all the baring of skin in Matt and Kim's idiom, they must be naked all the time, right?
Not so, or so they told MTV backstage at the show. "I only...

New York — Last night, on a cold and blustery May evening, I boarded a boat with a few friends to check out Passion Pit’s release party for their new LP, Manners. Despite the weather, hundreds of hipsters and double the amount of leggings came out to dance, drink, smoke and enjoy the new sounds from the Boston based quintet.
First, though, we had to get past the sea-sickness. At the dock on West 41st Street and 12th Avenue, the wind was a bit stronger than we’d all hoped, and much of the early night conversation turned to advice like “just watch the horizon” or “maybe lay off the drinks till we get moving.” I even saw one or two dramatic haircuts leaning over the side of the ship.
Finally, the music picked up and the rocking of the boat turned to some of the most creative dancing I...

It's widely accepted that Green Day's American Idiot was "the George W. Bush album." So what, then, would you call 21st Century Breakdown, an album written during the final years of Bush's second term, recorded during the dog days of the 2008 election, and released into a world flush with hope, change and all manners of Obama-mania?
If you're Green Day, you call it an opportunity — to open eyes and minds, to question authority, and to make people realize that there's still plenty out there to be outraged about.
"I think, like, if you compare where we're at now to, like, five years ago, I think we're actually in a worse situation. We're fighting two wars. ... It kind of goes...

For 15 years now — ever since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong clutched that monkey in the "Longview" video — they've been credited (and sometimes cursed) for bringing power-punk to the mainstream. Thanks to three simple chords and plenty of snotty sneers, they've sold millions of albums, toured the globe more times that they can probably remember, taken on governments and tried to rebuild cities.
And they've done it all with one foot firmly entrenched in the East Bay punk scene that birthed them, stating their allegiance to gutter punks and Gilman Street at every possible chance. It's been both a blessing and a curse, eternally indebted to their past, but inching ever closer to the future. So you can't really blame them for wanting to...

While not performing duties as an MTV News correspondent, lesbian TV personality Kim Stolz has been keeping busy writing pieces for The Huffington Post, becoming a talking head on Fox's Strategy Room, and now, using her celebrity to get people on the dance floor.
Stolz is part of Bpeace's DanceGiving fundraiser this month, which raises awareness and funds for female entrepreneurs in countries emerging from war, such as Rwanda and Afghanistan. The event will be held on May 12 in NYC, where there will be performances and dance lessons in all kinds of musical genres.
And even though the press release says "One need not dance to attend and enjoy," I'd advise you to re-watch the danceathon episode from the last season of The L Word and remember how much fun they were having when not dancing.
Yeah, that's right — none.
Will you be asking Kim Stolz for a slow dance?...

It feels like just yesterday we were complaining about Elina's elimination. But yes, it's yet again time for a new batch of model hopefuls, competing for Tyra's affection. The CW has released the names and first photographs of the contestants for Cycle 12 of America's Next Top Model.
While none are confirmed gay as of now, we can still speculate. There's also a few that, judged on these pictures alone, look as if they're not up to par (*cough* Kortnie *cough*), but I'm willing to give them a chance along with the rest of the nation.
Allison, 20 — an artist from New Orleans, Louisiana
Aminat, 21 — a student from Union, New Jersey
Celia, 25 — a fashion sales designer from Cynthiana, Kentucky
Fo, 19 — a student from Albuquerque, New Mexico
Isabella, 19 — an aspiring model from Barboursville, Virginia
Jessica, 18 — a student from Bradenton, Florida
Kortnie, 24 — a non-profit organizer from Houston, Texas
London, 18 — a student from Arlington,...

Since the debut of America's Next Top Model in 2003, women of all sexualities have been included as part of the televised reality contest. Cycle 1's Ebony Haith had the pleasure of being the first out contestant, who dealt with some homophobia from her housemates when she wanted her girlfriend to visit. She was followed by Cycle 4's Michelle Deighton, who came out as a bisexual, open lesbian Kim Stolz on Cycle 5, and Cycle 7's Michelle Babin, who struggled with her sexuality while on the show.
By the time 18-year-old Elina Ivanova was cast as a competitor on the current cycle of Top Model, she had the pleasure of being known for her modeling ability instead of being known as "the lesbian." In fact, it seemed very much a non-issue in the editing of the cycle, which touched less on Elina's sexuality than on her crush on her fellow contestant,...

The Australian equivalent to America's Kim Stolz is Ruby Rose, an out lesbian MTV VJ. At close to 6' tall with dark brown hair and bangs that hang just above her sparkly green eyes, she is always smiling when in front of the camera.
The Sydney-based brunette became known outside of her homeland over the summer when she was spotted holding hands and kissing Jess Origliasso of the twin-pop band The Veronicas, which toured with Disney teens The Jonas Brothers.
Jess' bisexuality came into question and Ruby was dragged into the tabloids with her.

Most recently, Rose has been "spotted" kissing the “straight” Australia's Next Top Model contestant, Samantha Downie.
Rose (who is only 21) seems unfazed by it, though, and says she's dating someone who isn't Jess, but won't comment further on it.
She recently told Australia's The Daily Telegraph, "I'm sick of seeing...
