German distributor Tiberius Film has picked up James Franco’s upcoming post-apocalyptic action picture Future World starring Milla Jovovich alongside Lucy Liu, Suki Waterhouse as well as rappers Snoop Dogg and Method Man.
It is among a quartet of new acquisitions announced by the Munich-based distributor on the eve of the Afm.
The production, which wrapped this summer, takes place in a barren world where a young man and a robot leave a safe haven in a journey of self-discovery. Ambi Distribution handles global sales.

Munich-based distributor Tiberius Film has acquired four titles ahead of Cannes, including the Audrey Tautou-starring Open At Night.
Edouard Baer directs this racy comedy about a crazy trip through Paris at night. Michel Galabru, who passed away in January this year, also star in his final film role.
Tiberius has also picked up The Lady In The Car With Glasses And A Gun, a remake of the 1970 original of the same name.

German distributor Tiberius Film has confirmed two deals on the eve of Afm.
The company has acquired thriller Criminal Activities starring John Travolta [pictured] and horror Martyrs.
Criminal Activities is about four young men who get involved in a bad deal with a gangster boss played by John Travolta. The cast also includes Dan Stevens, Michael Pitt, Christopher Abbott, Edi Gathegi and Rob Brown.
Tiberius plans the German theatrical release for 2016.
Martyrs, produced by Blumhouse Productions, stars Troian Bellisario, Kate Burton and Bailey Noble. The story, based on Pascal Laugier’s cult classic, is about a young woman who takes revenge on her childhood torturers. Tiberius plans a home entertainment launch in 2016.
The company has also struck a deal with Sky Vision on a package of documentaries including The Secret Routes of Migratory Birds.

Tiberius Film has acquired German rights to action thriller Ares from Gaumont.
The French production is being produced by Louis Leterrier and choreographed by the team of The Raid. Currently shooting in Paris, it stars Ola Rapace (Skyfall).
Tiberius has also picked up Liv Corfixen’s documentary My Life Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and two genre outings: Wyrmwood from Altitude Film Sales and Will Canon’s Demonic, written by James Wan and starring Maria Bello and Frank Grillo, from The Weinstein Company.

German distributor Tiberius Film has acquired German distribution rights to Ryan Gosling’s feature directorial debut How To Catch A Monster, sold by Nick Meyer’s Sierra/Affinity.
Tiberius also released Gosling-starrer Only God Forgives earlier this year.
The thriller is set in a vanishing city where a single mother is drawn into a dark underworld, while her son discovers a secret underwater town.
Starring Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes and Matt Smith, the film is now in post for delivery in early 2014.

Aspect Film's genre label Chiller Films has pre-sold Xavier Gens' upcoming grindhouse feature The Farm to German distributor Tiberius Film, with other territories including North America and UK circling. The deal was brokered by Aspect's Hugh Edwards and Tiberius' Wolfgang Carl and David Marsh.
The first in a series of three grindhouse films from Blanc/Biehn Productions, The Farm will reunite Hitman director Xavier Gens with The Terminator star Michael Biehn, who worked together on The Divide. Also back from starring in The Divide is Michael Eklund, Courtney B. Vance, Ivan Gonzalez, Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, while Danielle Harris will also star.
