Beyoncé just made history when she took home the Grammy for best dance/electronic music album for "Renaissance," netting her 32nd Grammy - the most of any artist ever. From the start, Beyoncé's "Renaissance" era has been a celebration of house music, beginning with its lead single, "Break My Soul," which was released in June 2022.
"Break My Soul" features a sample of Robin S.'s house hit "Show Me Love." Before she was sampled on the song, Robin S. was a major hitmaker in the house-music world. Her 1993 track "Show Me Love" was a hit in the early '90s, and her singles "Luv 4 Luv" and "What I Do Best" also topped the charts and helped establish the house genre around the world.

Sarah Cassidy, Alys Williams, Mitchel Emms and Leanne Jarvis have departed from The Voice UK, leaving the remaining eight contestants to progress to the semi-final.
Sarah - who had sung 'Love Sensation' by Loleatta Holloway - lost out in the public vote to Matt Henry, with Jessie J having put Ash Morgan through earlier with her Fast Pass.
Tom Jones sent through Joseph Apostol, leaving Alys to fight it out against Mike Ward.
On learning that she was leaving, she told her coach that it had been "such a pleasure working with him", with Jones saying that she had the "warmest, sexiest tone" on the show.
Mitchel, despite his performance of "tremendous... energy", lost out to Karl Michael, with Andrea Begley having gone through previously via Danny O'Donoghue's pass. The coach insisted of the departing contestant that a record company would "snap him up".
Finally, Team Will saw Leah McFall...

With six simple words, Kree Harrison summed up what most American Idol fans have been feeling for the last fortnight. I mean, seriously, once we got down to what Loleatta Holloway once referred to as “the reeeeeallll nitty gritty” of the competition — by which I mean a righteous Top 3 of Candice Glover, Kree and third-place finisher Angie Miller — how could you really be too upset about where the chips ended up falling?

Chicago — Disco singer Loleatta Holloway, known for the 1980 hit "Love Sensation," has died.
Her manager, Ron Richardson, says Holloway died of heart failure Monday night at a suburban Chicago hospital. She was 64.
Holloway recorded several disco singles, including "Hit and Run" and "Runaway." But she's best known for "Love Sensation."
Her vocals were sampled by Black Box for the 1989 hit "Ride on Time" and by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch for the song "Good Vibrations" in 1991.
Holloway was born in Chicago in 1946. She began singing gospel with the Holloway Community Singers and later with The Caravans. Her solo career began in the 1970s.
Richardson said funeral arrangements were pending, but that her family planned to hold a public memorial.

Dance music legend Loleatta Holloway passed away yesterday at the age of 64. Among her disco classics are "Hit and Run" and "Love Sensation," the latter of which was used in Marky Mark's 90's smash "Good Vibrations." My favorite was her collaboration with Dan Hartman on "Relight My Fire." She will be missed. The news we've been anxiously waiting for has arrived. TNT has officially renewed Southland for a ten-episode fourth season. This Kylie flash mob at the Sydney Opera House is incredible. it builds slowly until it hits a crescendo of utter joy.
Swedish TV is set to air a new series based on It Gets Better, and their inspiration was Fort Worth Councilman Joel Burns. One person can make a difference. Matthew Morrison has revealed that he and Gwyneth Paltrow will duet on "Over the Rainbow" for his upcoming solo album. This is what it sounds like when the bluebirds cry.
