Sadly, Season 14 will say auf wiedersehen on Thursday, November 5th, so now seems like a good time to take stock and rank the previous 13 seasons, with the expectation that the 2015 season will probably fall somewhere in the middle of the pack once it's done. (Tim Gunn "hated" Season 14, but there have been worse.) Every season of PR is a precious, unique little rhinestone, but, like the judges, we have our favorites -- and now it's Our turn to be biased.
So here's our very subjective but still definitive worst-to-best ranking, which may only be challenged by a glare from Nina Garcia, an eye roll from Michael Kors, a "make it work" from Tim Gunn, or an "out" from Heidi Klum.

RuPaul's Drag Race is finally returning to the UK.
truTV has brightened our day by announcing that the reality show will kick off its fourth season on June 1.
This is the first time that these episodes have been shown on free to air UK TV - and as if that wasn't enough, each episode will be followed by sister show RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked.
The show sees legendary star RuPaul Charles guiding a group of hopeful drag queens through the competition, as they face styling, personality and performance challenges in an attempt to win the season.
And to make things even better, the bottom two contestants in each episode lip sync for their lives before RuPaul decides which one of them hasn't made the cut.
RuPaul is joined by judges Michelle Visage - who might just be familiar to Celebrity Big Brother fans - and Santino Rice and Billy B,...

In HitFix's new feature "Waxing Episodic," we reflect on an episode of television we'll never forget. I don't know a single person who believes "Project Runway" is at its best now, but the decade-old reality competition is still chugging along, and that's a remarkable feat for a show that peaked in terms of sheer entertainment value at the end of its first season. Yes, season one. Say what you will about the subsequent cycles, which have included some of the most hilarious contestants (Santino Rice, Laura Bennett, the loopy, lovable puppetrix Elisa Jimenez) and undeniable talents (Christian Siriano, Mondo Guerra, Leanne Marshall) in reality history, but "Project Runway" has almost always required trumped-up workroom drama to keep us coming back. Season three succeeded with the Jeffrey Sebelia cheating allegations and season eight offered up an irritating, intriguing teacher's pet in the form of winner Gretchen Jones, but the duller seasons...

"RuPaul's Drag Race" is coming back March 2 with a judging panel consisting of veterans RuPaul and Michelle Visage and newcomers Carson Kressley and Ross Mathews. Exciting! Personally I will miss Santino Rice's snarly angst, but he's had a good run. More exciting: The announced guest judges this season are pretty thrilling. Kathy Griffin is back along with Olivia Newton-John, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, and John Waters. Pretty damn smashing. But before season seven gets under way, let's make sure to proclaim which celebrities Still need to join RuPaul and criticize the fabulous dames of his runway. 1. Tim Gunn Here's my problem with Tim Gunn on "Project Runway": I truly believe he is holding back. He comes from a distinguished academic background and taught at Parsons for years. He knows biting, incisive criticism. Not that he goes easy on "Project Runway" contestants, but he could certainly be grimmer and more subversive.

Once again Logo and RuPaul’s Drag Race hears our prayers by giving us more from episode 8 with an extended scene Drag Queens of Comedy. As usual the show generally gives us the best of each contestant. A lot of what was cut out in last night’s show was the dirtier stuff from Darienne Lake that didn’t seem to go over well. We also missed even more digs at Michelle Visage and Santino Rice in Bianca Del Rio’s standup. Surprisingly it looks like we saw most of BenDeLaCreme’s and Laganja’s performance last night. Today we continue the second round of Vulture’s ultimate Reality Rumble, a bracket to determine the greatest season of the greatest reality-tv shows, from The Real World on. Each day, a different writer will be charged with determining the winner of a round of the bracket, until Vulture's Margaret Lyons judges the finals on March 25. Today, in the second quarterfinals matchup, the first season of The Osbournes, in which we meet the bickering family of a famous metal superstar, goes up against the second season of Project Runway, which introduced us to the salacious antics of Santino Rice.In one corner: a show about a poorly behaved but ultimately loving celebrity family. In the other: a fashion competition putting skill on a pedestal above personality. Both The Osbournes and Project Runway were trendsetters in their own rights, and they have come to represent opposing sides of the same reality...

RuPaul’s Drag Race kicked off its sixth season with seven contestants battling it out for six available spots in part one of the premiere.
Next week, the premiere will conclude with seven more contestants being put to the test, and finally in week three the surviving 12 will come together for the competition. The two-part premiere is not the only trick RuPaul had up her sleeve. Another big change this season is there will be absolutely no immunity from eliminations.
First things first, RuPaul opened the show with her usual flair and introduced us to the Queens:
Adore Delano, aka Danny Noriega, is perhaps one of the less experienced of the contestants, but she has enough sass to fill any room. Noriega is no stranger to reality tv competition. He was a contestant on Season 7 of American Idol.

We’re celebrating 31 Days of Jinkx Monsoon here at Logoland, and that seems justified considering she’s the most talented queen in the history of RuPaul’s Drag Race. The season five champion can sing, act, make jokes, imitate people, and captivate with that naughty, effete voice of hers. As far as I’m concerned, the only complaint you can level at Jinkx is that she seems like a really, genuinely nice person, and maybe some people think that detracts from her “nerve” quotient. We don’t!
Let’s help kick off her month-long celebration with a tribute. Here are seven fabulous facts about the Seattle drag queen born Jerick Hoffer.
1. She is a huge fan of Addams Family Values. (She starts quoting Debbie Jellinsky [Joan Cusack] at 1:38.)
2. She has a crush on Santino Rice.

When Emmy nominations come out, I can’t stop ranking and re-ranking which nominees deserve to win most — which is not the same thing as a prediction. This practice is a compulsion and a gift (or something), and today I’m cementing my personal picks for one of my favorite categories: Outstanding Reality Competition. I’m so passionate about this hokey topic, I’ve even added a seventh nominee out of pure frustration. The actual nominees are The Amazing Race (ugh, sigh), The Voice, Top Chef, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, and Dancing with the Stars. We’ll rank those in a second, but for argument’s sake, here’s my pick for a seventh-place show.

I’ve always shown a propensity for watching scripted television shows. Mostly, I believe that has a lot to do with the fact that I’m a storyteller and, in being one, that means that I am interested in how other people tell stories. I want to see how characters are developed, how backstories are revealed (or not), and how disparate threads come together into a cohesive plot. Messy stories certainly happen and, sometimes, they just get made worse. A story that falls apart can be just as informative as one that doesn’t.
I keep hoping that even though it’s very cheap to produce, that reality TV will finally shrivel up and just go away already. It isn’t fun to watch and it’s becoming even more contived than it already was. Readers of this column know that I have absolutely no issues admitting to the fact that I like escapist entertainment.

Dear CBS and Cackling CBS Czar Les Moonves: Can we please fast-track a Survivor spinoff starring Malcolm and Denise of the dilapidated Matsing tribe? I think it could benefit society, which is more than I can say for anything Abi-Maria will achieve in her lifetime. I've already picked out some titles: Russell's Refugees; Post-Probst; Anything But Roxy; Awake and Matsing! (Clifford Odets fans in the house? Anyone?)
Thing is, we need that spinoff because Jeff Probst forced Malcolm and Denise to split up and join the two thriving tribes. Now that Malcolm's on Tandang and Denise is on Kalabaw, we may never see them team up in quite the same way again, though they're sharing an immunity idol at the moment. And just as I feared most, we got plenty more acquainted with the heretofore unseen Tandang and Kalabaw players this week, and they are... un-thrilling humanoid specimens.

In last night’s shocking episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, one of the season’s most beloved queens went home, in a sad — and truly unexpected — elimination. (It goes without saying that it was not Phi Phi O’Hara.) The queen that RuPaul told to “sashay away” was…
…Latrice Royale. The correct sentiment to feel at this point is: It should have been Phi Phi O’Hara.
Yes, Phi Phi has been a fierce competitor throughout the season, but as Sharon Needles (who won the challenge again) pointed out on the runway, she’s sort of a pill to handle.

Reality TV judging: It’s important. I can only commit to a TV talent show if I believe there are tough, fair-minded judges keeping the circus under control. Since we’re headlong into enticing seasons of The Voice and American Idol, the time is right to reflect upon the best judges in reality TV history – the ones who boast authority, smarts, sass, and fearsomeness. But apparently the best queen was to come, and she appeared last night in the show’s season 4 premiere: Sharon Needles.
