Venus Williams will keep playing after the US Open as she received a wild card entry into the 2023 Korea Open in Seoul.
The Wta 250 event in Seoul takes place from October 9th to the 15th, and we'll see Venus Williams at the event. The veteran had an excellent summer and followed that up with a more solid play on home soil. She's now going to take her talents to Asia.
She will take part in the Korea Open, hoping to close the year on a high note. The veteran is dead set on continuing to play the sport she loves, and after some solid performances lately, it's understandable.
She's not entirely done yet, and fans will gladly accept her if she has the will to keep the grind. Her most recent tennis outing was just a few days ago, as she took part in an exhibition match in Puerto Rico...

Coco Gauff has the potential to win multiple Grand Slams due to a level field at the top of the Wta , according to Andy Roddick .
Gauff's incredible recent form reached the pinnacle at the US Open when she came back from a set down to defeat world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the final. The win at Flushing Meadows, following successive title victories at the Citi Open and Cincinnati Masters, helped the 19-year-old break into the Wta top three , which has recently been occupied by Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina.
Ultimately, Gauff's rise has the potential to create a new era for the elite level of women's tennis, which could be ultra-competitive in the coming years. When talking to Betway and reflecting on Gauff's success, former US Open champion Roddick feels that the lack of one dominant player in the Wta opens the door for players like Gauff trying to break in.

Andy Roddick shared his thoughts on the recently concluded US Open , explaining how Coco Gauff 's US Open triumph was perfect.
Roddick was in New York during the US Open, and he followed the event's conclusion. A former champion of the US Open, he knows what it feels like to lift the home slam trophy surrounded by his friends and family and a packed Arthur Ashe Stadium cheering on.
It's certainly a great feeling, and Coco Gauff got the experience after coming back to win against Aryna Sabalenka . In his Betway column, Roddick explained how the timing of her win in New York was simply perfect.
I was one of the dummies who questioned whether there would be a vacuum in tennis post-Roger and Rafa and Serena, so the timing of Coco Gauff’s win couldn’t have been better, especially here in the US.
Venus and Serena were Coco’s idols,...

A spate of withdrawals at the 2023 Guadalajara Open has left tournament organizers anxious and tennis fans concerned, less than a week before main draw action begins.
The Guadalajara Open is the penultimate Wta 1000 on the calendar and will run from September 17th until the 23rd . World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka leads a host of top names on the absentees list , which includes Iga Swiatek , defending champion Jessica Pegula , and newly-crowned US Open champion Coco Gauff .
To put the absences in perspective, only three of the current Top 10 players appear in the revised entry list (who knows if that is even guaranteed to stay that way before the official draw ceremony), and 11 of the Top 20 overall chose to skip the event.
The particular cause resonates with the scheduling and logistical issues , with the Guadalajara Open occupying a peculiar spot for such a high-level category on the Wta calendar. Scheduled just a week...

Every awards season, pundits leave themselves open to late-year breakers. This is where a film not necessarily on anyone’s radar comes in and walks away with the industry’s most coveted prize for best picture. Past examples include Clint Eastwood’s 2004 winner “Million Dollar Baby.” Now, and coming only days after I declared “American Fiction” from Cord Jefferson my favorite film of TIFF so far, DuVernay cinematically states, “Hold my beer” with her emotional drama “Origin.”
Within the awards punditry world, it’s increasingly been agreed upon that director Christopher Nolan is in the pole position to win his first statuette for directing “Oppenheimer.” However, DuVernay emerges after bowing at Venice, and now at TIFF, as a viable challenger for the crown. In addition, her leading lady Anjanue Ellis-Taylor is a sure-fire contender for best actress.
While I wiped tears and snot away during the film’s end credits,...

Venus Williams is an iconic tennis player, and part of that is not just her tremendous resume, it's also a conscientious decision to 'serve' on the court.
While you don't automatically think of fashion when you think of tennis the two have been always quite linked. The sport was played differently many years ago, and outfits were a crucial part back then. Even today, kits garner a lot of interest from fans and when you have players that are keen on fashion like Venus Williams is, well then you have a spectacle.
The American legend has always been in tune with fashion and aims to bring fashion onto the courts when she plays. She's not the first one, nor is she the most daring one, but making a statement was always part of her on-court persona. Speaking with People Magazine , Venus talked about that part of her personality.

Venus Williams is another Canadian Open wild card recipient as she joins Caroline Wozniacki at the Wta 1000 event, running from August 4th till the 13th.
Venus Williams made her long-anticipated return to the Wta Tour recently by playing a few grass events. Her first match in 's-Hertogenbosch wasn't that great as she lost but she quickly found her game next week in Birmingham.
Wimbledon was supposed to be a great experience for her but ultimately she couldn't overcome Elina Svitolina who advanced all the way to the quarter-final in the meantime. It was a solid showing from Williams who q uite possibly wasn't even fully healthy for the event as she sustained an injury in Birmingham and another one in that match as well.
At this point in her career, she's likely never going to be fully healthy while competing but she's still out there and playing out of the love for tennis.

In the world of giant mecha and space opera, it’s hard to find anything genuinely new. The genre is so defined, there are few trails left to blaze, and so a new series will most likely develop along one of two routes: it can either ride the coat tails an already established franchise, and present itself as a sequel/prequel/reversioning (the new — and Excellent — Evangelion titles are great example of this), or a show can strive to be a parody, preferably a really Good one, such as Galaxy Angel or Martian Successor Nadesico.
Vandread is in this latter category, and it doesn’t take long (approximately five seconds) to find out that this is space mecha action with a twist — forget aliens or angels, this is boys vs. girls! Men are from Mars, and Women are from Venus, but after decades in deep space, the two don’t...

Fourteen months after its auspicious debut, we are now able to play "Dante's Inferno" in all of its glory. The wait has been unbearable. Who hasn't been chomping at the bit to get their hands on Visceral Games' grand reinterpretation of Dante Aligheri's seven-hundred-year-old poetry?
If "Dante" manages to capture an audience, we might be on the verge of a new gaming zeitgeist, wherein publishers across the land craft their blockbusters from the most traditional IPs in the public domain. Here are five games based on classic lit and the developers most suited to realizing them.
Don Quixote
Adapted by: Omega Force for Tecmo-Koei
An aged knight sits atop a wearied steed, his sad eyes betraying countless days of travel without rest. His armor creeks as he shifts his weight. The small, portly man riding a donkey beside him advises the knight to equip his weapon before entering battle. Rain...
