The major figures in the murder of Hae Min Lee have largely refrained from commenting publicly on "Serial," but on Thursday, CBS This Morning got Adnan Syed's family to talk about the podcast for the first time. Adnan's brother Yusef Syed told CBS's Jan Crawford that it's difficult to listen to: "I wake up as soon as they put it on ... Some days I'll be like, This is a really great episode, and some days I'll feel down and depressed." Syed says he's glad the show is helping his brother's case, but reminds the obsessed "Serial" fan base that "there's a real girl who died." Hae Min Lee's family has not spoken publicly since "Serial" premiered; the only clue about their thoughts comes in a Reddit post from someone purporting to be Hae's brother: "You weren't there to see your mom crying every night, having a heart attack when...

The family of the convicted murderer around whom the popular podcast Serial is based gave their first television interview since 1999 to CBS This Morning, which aired on Thursday. Rahman Syed and Yusuf Syed, the mother and younger brother of Adnan Syed, sat down with CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford to assert Syed's innocence and discuss the real-life crime series based on his story. Serial is the brainchild of journalist Sarah Koehnig and attracts 1.26 million listeners every Thursday, as The Hollywood Reporter has noted, including Syed's mother and brother. Yusuf Syed said his reactions to the series so far

Earlier today, Newsbusters outclassed most of the mainstream media by being honest about Obamacare, and now, The Washington Post's Eric Wemple points out that Fox News has actually outclassed CBS News by partially correcting Jan Crawford's misleading report about a Florida woman who is unhappy about the new plan she's being offered under Obamacare, at ten times the price of her old plan. Slow clap for conservative media today.

The mainstream media has continued to broadcast misleading, deliberately incomplete, and one-sided reports on the effects of the Affordable Care Act on consumers. The latest champion of the form is CBS News' Jan Crawford, whose report on 56 year-old Dianne Barrette of Florida has become a North Star for those seeking to undercut the health care law by claiming that her premium increased tenfold under Obamacare, without disclosing that what Ms. Barrette was paying $54 a month for barely qualifies as insurance.

There were few flubs in the TV news organizations’ coverage of the Supreme Court’s decisions on the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s anti-gay-marriage Proposition 8. Broadcast networks broke into regular morning programming a few minutes after 10 a.m. Et when the high court handed down its first decision, declaring Doma unconstitutional in a 5-4 opinion. CBS had correspondent Jan Crawford in front of the Supreme Court in Washington while CBS This Morning anchors Charlie Rose and Norah O’Donnell were in the New York studio. George Stephanopoulos anchored ABC’s coverage from the Good Morning America studio in

Just as you should be informed about your presidential nominees, you should be informed about your election night coverage options. Check out the candidates below:

CBS News' Jan Crawford joined Bob Schieffer on Face the Nation this morning to give some more insight into the behind-the-scenes deliberations leading up to the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision upholding the Affordable Care Act. Crawford said the "discord" in the Supreme Court is "deep and personal," and Roberts joining the liberals brought out much "tension and bitterness" between the justices that may take some time to heal.
