The BBC has reordered the series, which plays on Hulu in the U.S. and is from Various Artists Ltd and A24.
Such Brave Girls follows Josie (Kat Sadler), her sister Billie (Lizzie Davidson) and their mum Deb (Louise Brealey), as they attempt to claw their way towards a better life. Per the synopsis: “Armed only with an ability to see the line and boldly step over it, these very brave girls finally have a chance to explore themselves.”

Simon Carlyle, the co-creator of hit BBC sitcom Two Doors Down, has died aged 48.
Carlyle’s manager Amanda Davis confirmed the news in a statement to Pa Media.
“I am immensely sorry to confirm that Simon Carlyle has died at the age of 48,” Davis said.
“Simon was a wonderful person and a major comedic talent. He was much respected across the industry both for the quality of his writing and for being a kind, funny, supportive and nurturing collaborator. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go to his family, friends and colleagues.”
With Gregor Sharp, Carlyle was the co-creator of Scottish BBC sitcom Two Doors Down, which stars the likes of Arabella Weir and Alex Norton as neighbours in a suburban street in Scotland, who are “all a bit nuts,” according to an interview with Carlyle several years ago.

BBC Three and HBO Max have commissioned a third season of Rose Matafeo’s critically-acclaimed comedy Starstruck.
The show, in which Matafeo plays millennial Londoner Jessie as she navigates the complications of becoming romantically involved with famous movie star Tom (Nikesh Patel), will once again be co-produced by the UK and U.S. networks, having proved popular on both sides of the Atlantic.

Dylan Moran, who wrote and starred in cult show “Black Books” alongside Bill Bailey, is returning to television with a new comedy series “Stuck,” starring Morgana Robinson (“The Windsors”).
The series, which will begin shooting in Belfast this month, is described as “sometimes dark, sometimes surreal.” It is produced by Hat Trick Productions with Ian FitzGibbon (“Hullraisers”) set to direct.
“Stuck” explores the relationship between Dan (played by Moran) and Carla (Robinson) a couple with an age gap who are at a cross-roads. Dan has been made redundant; Carla is dissatisfied with her life. When Carla’s ex-girlfriend Maya re-appears, things start to get even more tricky.
As well as “Black Books,” Moran has appeared in “Shaun of the Dead,” “Notting Hill” and TV series “Uncle.” He can currently be seen as Uthrok One-Nut in “The Witcher: Blood Origin.”

Following Jon Petrie’s appointment as the BBC’s director of comedy in July, he has now revealed his commissioning team, including the newly-created role of head of comedy talent development.
Tanya Qureshi (“I May Destroy You”) stays on as head of BBC comedy alongside commissioning editor Gregor Sharp (“Starstruck”) and assistant commissioner in the norther Hannah Rose.
They will be joined by two new commissioning editors, Emma Lawson (“Trying”) and Ben Caudell (“Mandy”) as well as acting commissioning editor Seb Barwell (“Hattie”), who is joining in a temporary capacity from November until April 2022.
Lawson brings over 20 years’ experience in scripted television. She produced Apple Plus’s first scripted comedy, “Trying” and has developed a sitcom for Sky One. She also counts Objective, Fremantle and Roughcut TV on her resume.
Caudell moves into his role after executive producing two series of “Mandy” and “Famalam” as well as a number of other shows.

BBC Comedy has commissioned new comedy-thriller series Black Ops created by Famalam actors Gbemisola Ikumelo and Akemnji Ndifornyen and writing duo Joe Tucker and Lloyd Woof (Click and Collect). The six-part (6×30) series, which will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2022, follows the story of Dom and Kay, who join the Met Police in the hope of cleaning up their community but are unwittingly thrust into the murky world of deep cover infiltration as they become part of a powerful criminal enterprise. But for the duo, it quickly becomes more of a fiasco than Donnie Brasco. Series was commissioned by BBC head of comedy Tanya Qureshi and is produced by Ndifornyen and Josh Cole, the exec producer for BBC Studios Productions. Gregor Sharp is the commissioning editor for the BBC and BBC Studios will distribute the series internationally. Casting details are expected to be announced shortly.

Game of Thrones star Jamie Sives and Catastrophe star Mark Bonnar are to front a four-part dark crime caper for the BBC.
Guilt, written by Eric, Ernie And Me writer Neil Forsyth, will be the first drama for BBC Scotland’s new digital channel and will then air on BBC Two.
Sives, who starred as Jory Cassel in the HBO drama, and Bonnar play two disparate Scottish brothers Max and Jake who, while driving home from a wedding together one night, accidentally run over and kill an old man on a darkened street. After making the panicked decision to cover their tracks, the brothers seem to get away with their crime. However, as neighbours and relatives of the dead man begin to suspect his death wasn’t as innocent as it initially seemed, the brothers find their lives rapidly falling apart, as their actions begin to catch up with them.

TV newcomer Elliot Sprakes from Sheffield has landed the title role in Billionaire Boy, the latest adaptation of one of David Walliams' childrens books, which will be screened at Christmas.
The hour-long special is the fourth BBC adaptation of a Walliams novel, and follows the successes of Gangsta Granny, Mr Stink and The Boy In The Dress.
Filming begins next week in Sheffield and Rotherham for broadcast this Christmas on BBC One. Local school children from Oakwood High School, Rotherham, have also been cast to appear in the production as Joe’s class mates.
Elliot (represented by Cieka Bailey Associates) plays 12 year old Joe, the son of Len (played by John Thomson) who has made a billion by invented a new toilet roll. Joe appears to have everything he could want but what he really needs is a friend. This is Elliot's first major TV role, he recently filmed a Cbbc pilot Scraps.
The hour-long special is the fourth BBC adaptation of a Walliams novel, and follows the successes of Gangsta Granny, Mr Stink and The Boy In The Dress.
Filming begins next week in Sheffield and Rotherham for broadcast this Christmas on BBC One. Local school children from Oakwood High School, Rotherham, have also been cast to appear in the production as Joe’s class mates.
Elliot (represented by Cieka Bailey Associates) plays 12 year old Joe, the son of Len (played by John Thomson) who has made a billion by invented a new toilet roll. Joe appears to have everything he could want but what he really needs is a friend. This is Elliot's first major TV role, he recently filmed a Cbbc pilot Scraps.

Outnumbered will return this month for what has been confirmed as its fifth and final series.
The award-winning sitcom will have a six-episode run starting on Wednesday, January 29 at 9pm.
Creators Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin have decided to end the sitcom after this series but both they and the cast have expressed the desire to reunite for occasional one-off specials.
Outnumbered series five stars regulars Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez, along with Samantha Bond, Rebecca Front and Harry Shearer.
The final series of the show will see Dad "besieged by unreliable technologies" while Mum has a new office job, Jake wears a new tattoo and learns to drive, Ben is cast in his school's musical version of Spartacus, and Karen starts secondary school.
