- Despite his directorial credit on Amelia's 25th (2013) Martín despised his involvement in the project, calling it "talk about a life lesson! This was the worst bad medicine of my career. I was young and eager to direct a project with a terrific cast but the script had lots of issues and from the get-go, all the producer's promises of creative integrity, directorial vision, and story corrections fell apart. Any kind of construction creative collaboration was erased. Since then, I have vowed to never accept a project of that kind and under those terms. It was one of the worst creative experiences of my life. The only good thing that came out of that project was working with the likes of Jennifer Tilly, Margaret Cho , Danny Trejo , and a set of great actors... but yeah... the experience still torments me till today.".
