Sivan Ilamathi is a producer, writer and director with nearly a decade
of industry experience and over 250 hours of non-fiction programming
under his belt.
After obtaining his B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University, he ventured down to our nation's capital where he began his career working on Miramax's award-winning feature documentary "Paper Clips" before transitioning to television at Discovery Communications.
Over the next two years he worked in production on nearly 80 high-profile series and specials for Discovery, TLC, Science, Military and Discovery Health. His titles include "Planet Earth," "Inside the Twin Towers" and "Secrets of Egypt's Lost Queen."
In 2007 Sivan returned to Boston where he produced interactive media for publishers like Houghton Mifflin before joining Powderhouse Productions. There he produced for a variety of hit series including Science Channel's "Build It Bigger." While these adventurous shows brought him to some of the world's most fascinating places (his favorites include Brazil and Azerbaijan), he also enjoyed working on programs like Animal Planet's "Dogs 101" that were a bit closer to home.
In an industry with no shortage of surprises, Sivan maintains his Zen-like calm by adhering to a few simple tenets: tell stories, be open to meeting new people and make a mess in the kitchen.
