Colin Kaepernick didn’t hold back on Monday night when asked about Espn analyst Trent Dilfer, who criticized the San Francisco 49ers quarterback over the weekend for his protest of taking a knee during the national anthem. Kaepernick is famously protesting the national anthem out of refusal to “show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people.” He said Dilfer should speak with the families of people that have been murdered by police and see if he still disagrees with the anthem protest. “The big thing that hit me through all this was this is a backup...

Ray Lewis, Super Bowl Mvp linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, announced he will retire at the end of the 2012-2013 NFL season. On the heels of that announcement comes a report that Lewis is set to sign a deal to become an on-air personality for Espn.
Sports Illustrated reports no official announcement should be expected until the close of the Ravens season. Baltimore plays the Indiana Colts in a Wild Card game Dec. 6, so the season ending date is yet to be determined.
Lewis reportedly met with several broadcast networks regarding a post-retirement NFL gig, but the role offered by Espn gave the linebacker the scheduling flexibility he was looking for to be able to attend his son Ray Lewis III's University of Miami football games.
While Espn has declined to comment on the reported deal, they would be taking on a controversial figure if the story is true. Lewis...

New York -- The biggest of stars is off to a slow start this season.
"American Idol," that reliable ratings juggernaut, had a drop in viewership of more than 15 percent for its first two episodes back, underscoring how rough it is to attract and keep a devoted following when there are so many entertainment options.
Not so for the NFL.
Last month, its conference championship games were the most watched in 30 years, and it soars into Sunday's Super Bowl defying the ratings drag that plague much of TV.
"Every once in a while on TV, these events galvanize the nation, like `Who shot J.R.?'" said Kelly Kahl, the senior executive vice president for CBS Primetime. "These things come along once every five, 10 years. The Super Bowl is every year."
In 2006, NFL games on CBS, Fox and NBC averaged 16.3 million viewers. By 2011, that number had climbed to 19.8 million (down...
