Author Note: This original editorial was written in 2011, and several of the references are clearly dated, and more than that, in the past six years, my perspective has altered, changed, been tweaked,…, been re-examined (Shrugs) something to that effect- needless to say that this is the article written by a then-still young(er), still unknowing film school undergrad who had a more wide-eyed and bushy-tailed view of the subculture than I do now. My perspective as an outsider was more curious and intriguing at the time, and I think it’s important to have those kinds of initial thoughts documented, as much if not moreso than one’s current more-refined thoughts. While I will update portions of this article at the bottom of the page, I ask that you keep in mind, the perspective in which it was written, and forgive what are obvious dated references to the time period.

Prince Charles apparently wasn't interested in following the selfie steps of Brad Pitt and Bradley Cooper, let alone The Simpsons and various Lego figures. Armed with a smart phone, Joan Collins rangled a number of fellow U.K.-born celebs into recreating Ellen DeGeneres' A-list-packed Oscars selfie today at the Prince's Trust and Samsung Celebrate Success Awards. But while the likes of Luke Evans, Sir Ben Kingsley, Dominic West and Jeremy Irons joined in, even Alexis Carrington herself couldn't seduce the Prince of Wales into participating. Charles posed for regular photos with the group, but an eyewitness told the Daily Mail that he appeared to...

Jumping onto the bandwagon to recreate Ellen DeGeneres' famous Oscar selfie, Lego introduced its very own re-imagined photograph on Twitter Tuesday (March 4).
The iconic toy company took to its account and tweeted the pic with the caption, "The real #Oscars #selfie…sort of #Oscars2014 @ellenDegeneres."
As previously reported by GossipCenter, the artists at the hit Fox show "The Simpsons" also created their own rendition of the adorable pic featuring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts and Kevin Spacey as Springfield residents.
The "Simpsonized" photo also features a hilarious add-on of Homer Simpson getting the shaft and not making it into the actual shot due to a deftly-placed foot by Cooper.
Ellen's original shot ended up garnering $3 million in charity donations from Samsung!

What if instead of getting all the retweets she wanted with that selfie, Ellen just got tons of faves? She would've been all like, "Just kidding. I'm Ellen." Luckily her shrewd mix of youth pandering and brand sponsorship totally worked, and the photo is at over 3.2 million retweets and counting. The Simpsons wanted to get in on the fun last night and posted the below image to their Facebook page. Relive the selfie-taking, but Simpsonized and with Bradley Cooper now pushing Homer down with his foot. We know it's a drawing, but we're still impressed by his multitasking.

Homer Simpson tried to photobomb the shot, but Simpsons Bradley Cooper accidentally kicked him in the head, much to the cartoon's chagrin.
