Amber Riley, who starred as Mercedes in “Glee,” revealed on the “And That’s What You Really Missed” podcast that she refused to film a sex scene with Chord Overstreet’s character Sam.
“I told [‘Glee’ co-creator] Brad [Falchuk], ‘Absolutely not,’” Riley shared with her former co-stars and podcast hosts Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale. “He gave me the blue pages or whatever. It was written. I said, ‘No.’”
Riley said there was a planned “full-blown” sex scene where Mercedes loses her virginity to her boyfriend, Sam. After Riley rejected the idea, Falchuk pitched a more toned down angle for the scene.
“He said, ‘Well what if we just, you know, have you guys hold hands and walk to the room and then like close the door,’” she said. “And I was just like, ‘No, I’m not doing it.’”
Riley continued, “I don’t tell y’all, no. I don’t fight on anything.

Glee alums Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz have revealed how the cast’s “bratty” behavior resulted in show co-creator Ryan Murphy refusing to come to set after the third season. Before he was known as the prolific producer-writer-director behind American Horror Story, Pose, American Crime Story, 9-1-1, Dahmer, and more, Murphy found one of his first major successes with Glee, the musical comedy-drama he co-created with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan that aired for six seasons on Fox between 2009 and 2015. However, the show was often the center of controversy and behind-the-scenes drama between its cast and crew. Things are said to have gotten so bad that Murphy walked out after a particularly tense shoot during the making of Season 3 – and didn’t return. McHale and Ushkowitz detailed what happened on a recent episode of their Glee-based podcast series, And That’s What You Really Missed. The pair, who played Artie Abrams and Tina Cohen-Chang,...

Barbie is the biggest movie of 2023, and some Gleeks are noticing a connection between the pink-hued masterpiece and the hit musical TV show.
It’s been eight years since the final episode of Glee aired, but this connection has spurred the belief that, if the two projects exist in the same universe, one of the characters is thriving in Hollywood.
There’s also a pretty good chance that you missed the connection!

Thanasi Kokkinakis shared one of his best tennis moments with Nick Kyrgios, and he spoke about the possibility of doing that again.
Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios are known as the Special K's. It's pretty self-explanatory why they are called that, as their surnames start with a K, but they're all called that also because of the magic they produced.
Last year in Australia, the two native players combined in the doubles to play an amazing event and win the trophy. It was a huge celebration of tennis because the crowd went wild in every match and both Kyrgios and Kokkinakis enjoyed it a lot.
That's how the Special K's were born, and they would prove a formidable doubles pairing later that year, even playing at the Atp Finals. This year, we saw the same thing happen as two native Australians, Rinky Hijikata and Jason Kubler, won the doubles trophy as well,...

Who doesn’t love watching a series that tells the true-life (or at least somewhat true-life) stories of real people? That’s what HBO’s hit series “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” provides for NBA fans, Angelenos and TV viewers alike.
“Winning Time” doesn’t feature any of the real-life people that the series depicts, though some of the actors bear striking resemblances to their counterparts.
The show has a massive cast, with Quincy Isaiah (Earvin “Magic” Johnson”), John C. Reilly (Jerry Buss), Adrien Brody (Pat Riley) and others taking center stage as leads. There were also newcomers who stepped onto the court as guest stars for the second season, included Joel Allen as Kurt Rambis, Jay Davis as Byron Scott, Quentin Shropshire as James Worthy, Matthew Barnes as Mitch Kupchak, Darryl Reynolds as Robert Parish, Andrew Stephens as Kevin McHale and Larry C. Fields III as Eddie Jordan.

The "Glee" cast and crew recently reunited in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. On Aug. 23, stars including Heather Morris, Darren Criss, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Kevin McHale, as well as writers, producers, and choreographers for the hit television series joined the picket line in Burbank, CA. Marching alongside former coworkers, the group made sure to include a special shoutout to the late Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez on the show and died after a tragic boating accident in July 2020.
At the protests, a few of the picketers carried signage displaying famous one-liners from "Glee." Morris's sign featured Santana and her quote, "The only straight I am is straight-up broke," while former crew member Meg Doyle held up another screen grab of Santana saying, "I'm about to go all Lima Heights." Ushkowitz's sign also showed a snap of her character Tina Cohen-Chang saying, "I'm dehydrated from all the striking.

“We’re not allowed to talk about Scrubs.” That was the consensus that co-stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison reached almost immediately during the Aug. 1 episode of their Scrubs rewatch podcast, Fake Doctors, Real Friends. The pair, like many actors with thriving audio platforms, had been unsure of how to approach their side gig during the SAG-AFTRA strike and initially segued into repeats. Not only is there the obvious fear of speaking out of turn during Hollywood’s labor crisis — see recent foot-in-mouth comments from Stephen Amell, Jamie Lee Curtis and Zachary Levi, each of whom immediately backpedaled — podcasting is proving to be a strike gray area despite the union clearing up guidelines. Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis will play doubles together again and it will happen at the 2023 Wimbledon.
The Special K's, as the Australian duo is referred to on the doubles court, had a really superb 2022 season. It all started with the Australian Open triumph, and they also continued their successful run in Atlanta, capturing another title and eventually securing their spot in the Atp Finals.
Although they won only one match in the competition that gathers the eight best doubles teams, Special K's proved that they are really special. Fans are yet to see Kyrgios and Kokkinakis on the tennis court together since their appearance in Turin, but that will change soon.
The two were set to compete together at the Australian Open, but since Kyrgios was forced to withdraw, their premiere in 2023 was postponed. Now, the Australian withdrew also from the Roland Garros, but he should be ready for Wimbledon.

Bob Saget’s tragic death in January 2022 was a key to healing a rift between John Stamos and the Olsen Twins.
The sequel to ’80s sitcom classic Full House was the Netflix series Fuller House, which ran for five seasons. The series featured all of Full House‘s original main characters except for the Olsens, who split the role in the earlier series.
Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz‘s And That’s What You Really Missed podcast saw Stamos reveal that he was angry initially at the perceived snub by the twins. He said he heard “rumors” that the twins hated being on the original show and felt it marred their childhood.
“When I did Fuller House, they didn’t want to come back and I was angry for a minute and that got out,” Stamos said.
But the Olsens and Stamos reconnected at Saget’s funeral, where the twins dispelled the rumors.

Cory Monteith’s Glee co-stars are remembering the late actor almost 10 years after his death and praising his acting skills.
Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale remembered the actor on the latest episode of their podcast And That’s What You Really Missed. The Glee alums recalled the Season 1 finale of the series with McHale saying he was “floored” by Monteith’s acting throughout “this whole episode.”

“The Price of Glee”, a three-part limited documentary, is pulling back the curtain on the cultural phenomenon that was “Glee”.
When the high school musical series from Ryan Murphy first debuted in 2009, it quickly broke down barriers, set records and changed the music and TV industry. It also made super stars out of its ensemble cast, including Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Naya Rivera, whose lives were eventually cut short in very different, very tragic ways, leaving a dark cloud looming over the series that became rocked by scandals, gossip and more.
In the series, which premieres Monday, Jan. 16 on ID and discovery+, relatives and friends of the “Glee” cast, including Rivera’s father George and Monteith’s roommate Justin Neill, as well as those who were on set or covered the production during its six-season run, are speaking out.

A holiday as conspicuous as Christmas will undoubtedly attract the most thrills and chills at this time of year. In the past, TV’s genre anthologies have been a remarkable and plentiful source of wintry terror, be that of the Christmas variety or otherwise. The original Twilight Zone submitted the strangest of strange holiday stories, Tales from the Darkside provided the macabre classics “Seasons of Belief” and “The Yattering and Jack,” and Tales from the Crypt put a new spin on the EC-era slasher “And All Through the House.”
Christmas horror only became more weird and wild as the century changed. And as these five festive frighteners from more recent anthology series suggest, there’s never a better season for horror than winter.

A new series titled "The Price of Glee" will soon return to the halls of William McKinley High School - though things will look a bit different this time around. A forthcoming docuseries from Discovery+ and Ample Entertainment will explore the various tragedies and controversies that have plagued Ryan Murphy's smash hit "Glee," both while it aired from 2009 to 2015 and in the years since.
"In May 2009, 10 young actors made their TV debut on 'Glee.' By 2020, all of them would be famous, and three would be dead," the trailer, which dropped on Dec. 8, states.

The tale of two “Glee”s is examined in an upcoming docuseries.

Heather Morris is opening up about her eating disorder, and how her late “Glee” co-star, Naya Rivera, came to her aid.
In a new appearance on the “And That’s What You Really Missed” podcast Thursday, hosted by her former co-stars Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale, Morris recalled a particular occasion in which Rivera followed her into her dressing room to confront her.
“I had developed an eating disorder. I stopped getting my period. I was so in my head about food and what it was doing for me,” Morris shared, noting that things escalated when the success of the Fox musical comedy led to a concert tour in 2010. While she didn’t specify her eating order, Morris said that she would often look at the food being served to her cast on tour but not eat — something Rivera noticed.
“I can’t remember exactly what she was saying, but...
