Walt Disney Pictures has promoted distribution executives Ken Caldwell and Jeff Forman, the company announced Monday. Caldwell, who spent the past dozen years as VP sales, will become senior VP of theatrical sales for North America. Forman has been senior VP, sales and marketing for Asia Pacific and Sony joint ventures in that region. He becomes senior VP of theatrical sales for international. Disney is promoting Ken Caldwell to senior vice president of theatrical sales for North America, while Jeff Forman has been named to the same position on the international side.
Promotions come as Disney prepares for the exit of longtime president of distribution Chuck Viane, who will retire from the top post on July 1, but stay on as a consultant for a year.
David Hollis will be assuming all of Viane's duties; Forman and Caldwell will be his top deputies.
Forman, who has been with the studio since 1991, is taking over Hollis' previous position.
For the past 12 years, Forman has been focused on the Asia Pacific region, helping Disney gain entry into development markets such as India, China and Vietnam.
Caldwell will assume the position held by Chris LeRoy, who also is departing the studio in July.
Caldwell has been with Disney's distribution operation for 30 years. Most recently, he oversaw the Eastern region of the U.
