- Ashley George trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
- Aged just 18 years old, based on his performance of Alan Strang in Equus at the Edinburgh Festival, Ashley was asked to audition for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, for which he would be awarded a full scholarship on receipt of a place. At the time, Ashley had already committed himself to a three year degree course studying English and Drama at the University of Manchester, and had to decline the remarkable offer.
- The following year, aged 19, after his performance as Donald in Blue Remembered Hills at Edinburgh which then transferred to London with Matt Horne (Gavin and Stacey), Ben Cavey (Tiger Aspect Producer, Benidorm) and Tom Harper (Director, This is England '86), Ashley was encouraged again to apply for RADA. Ashley stuck to his guns and stayed to complete his course at Manchester University.
- Ashley graduated from the University of Manchester in 2003 with First Class Joint Honours in English with Drama.
- Ashley was a car-salesman for the year between university and gaining a full scholarship award to the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
- Met his first agent out of drama school, Sherina from BWH, on the 185 bus from Victoria. They got chatting; the next day, she signed him.

- In 2009, for the advert campaign for the 'Saw Ride' at Thorpe Park, Ashley went on the Saw Ride roller-coaster 30 times in one day. This was an unofficial world record for the amount of rides on one roller-coaster in 12 hours.
