Long before she became a famous talk show host, Kelly Ripa was a soap opera darling on All My Children. For 12 years, Ripa portrayed Hayley Vaughan on the ABC series. During the show, Ripa met her husband, Mark Consuelos. The couple has been married for 26 years and has three children.

Ripa’s acting career began when she debuted as Hayley on All My Children in November 1990. Hayley is the rebellious daughter of Adam Chandler (David Canary) and Arlene Vaughan (Olivia Birkelund). Ripa became a hit as Hayley, and in 1995, the producers decided to cast a new love interest for her character.
Consuelos debuted as Mateo Santos in February 1995. The onscreen chemistry between Hayley and Mateo turned into a real-life romance for Ria and Consuelos.

Heartthrob Jesse McCartney has already established himself as a singer-songwriter, with three solo albums under his belt. He's also stacked up quite the résumé as a television actor, with recurring roles on "All My Children" and "Greek"; and he's the voice of Dick Grayson/Nightwing on the animated series "Young Justice."
But as a film actor, McCartney remains relatively unknown. That's likely to change this Friday when McCartney headlines the cast of "Chernobyl Diaries," a radioative-mutant horror thriller from Oren Peli, the guy behind "Paranormal Activity." Cue the screams.
Age: 25
Hometown: Westchester, New York
What He's Done: More like, what hasn't he done? McCartney launched his musical career as a member of the boy band Dream Street. At 15, he went solo and hasn't looked back, releasing three pop albums and crooning on a slew of Disney soundtracks. He netted two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his performance as Adam Chandler Jr.

Two controversies greet a documentary's opening this weekend. Salon is best on the one you've probably heard about; Slate uncovers another you likely haven't. Let's start with Salon's Andrew O'Hehir: "With its unerring instinct for being on the wrong side of every major social and aesthetic issue, the Motion Picture Association of America's ratings board has refused to budge off its R rating for Bully, an earnest and moving documentary made for and about tormented preteens and teenagers." And "what's really perverse, of course — not to mention cruel and repellent — is a ratings decision that ensures that the kids who most need the succor that Bully has to offer are now the least likely to see it." Further in:
Without doubt, the MPAA has handed Bully director Lee Hirsch and Harvey Weinstein, whose company is releasing the film, a formidable marketing weapon and a tremendous amount of free publicity…. Mind you,...

All My Children‘s final broadcast on ABC is coming up fast, and with countless questions looming about how things will (temporarily) come to a close in Pine Valley, we’ve put together a photo gallery that chronicles the sad big day.
The images depict a joyous coming together of some of AMC’s most influential denizens — Erica Kane and Adam Chandler included! — but the tone drastically shifts as the end of the slideshow nears. Could it be a hint of what’s to come from the much talked about cliffhanger finale?

Actress Julia Barr returns to the television role she played for 30 years which earned her eight Emmy Award nominations, Brooke English on All My Children. The actress will tape a week of episodes in August, which will air in September -- the final shows of the daytime drama to be televised on the ABC Television Network.
Barr joined the show in 1976 and left in 2006. In 2010, by popular demand, she returned for a three month run, pairing Brooke with actor David Canary’s character Adam Chandler, one of her long-time loves.
In making the announcement Barr said, “I am thrilled to be back on the show personally and professionally for what will be an exciting and emotional time. I have no idea yet what brings Brooke back to Pine Valley, but trust that Lorraine Broderick -- AMC’s best head writer in the history of the show -- has something brilliant in the works.

The key to winning a Daytime Emmy is episode selection. "All My Children" star Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) has mad love for the man behind soap opera icon, Adam Chandler.
"I'm like an enormous fan of David Canary," Mathison tells Korbi TV. "Not only his work on TV [but] the man he is off-camera [as well]... He's brought such an enormous amount to the show that we should be eternally grateful."
Cameron, however, supports Canary's decision to retire and really enjoy his life. Still, he says, it's his understanding that "All My Children" will welcome Adam Chandler back to Pine Valley whenever Canary wants to make the cross-country trip to Los Angeles, where the series now shoots.
"Fans, just know, he could be back," Mathison explains. "To beat up Ryan again. By the way, he could totally beat up Ryan. He is so rock solid in shape. The man swims five days a week and he could kick-- I'll let you fill in the blanks.

There are a handful of faces that come to mind immediately when you think of “All My Children” and Julia Barr, better known to the world as Brooke English, is definitely one of them.
Korbi TV got some one-on-one time with the actress who, after a three-year hiatus, returned to the series a couple months back to aid in the departure of Adam Chandler (David Canary) from Pine Valley.
Canary, who announced his retirement in February, leaves the show Friday, April 23 and will likely go with Barr (as Brooke English) by his side.
In the video interview below, Barr talks about what Canary has meant to “AMC.”
“He’s been such a huge portion of this canvas,” she says. “You don’t think about ‘All My Children’ without David Canary. But he also has a legacy in terms of his family and his offspring — you know, I mean the ‘All My Children...
Korbi TV got some one-on-one time with the actress who, after a three-year hiatus, returned to the series a couple months back to aid in the departure of Adam Chandler (David Canary) from Pine Valley.

Early this year, ”All My Children” suffered a major loss with the passing of James Mitchell who played Palmer Courtlandt on the ABC soap opera for more than 30 years and this week, the series will lose another giant with the departure of David Canary.
Canary, better known to us as Adam Chandler, has been on the show for 27 years and, in many ways, is “All My Children.” The actor bids the show adieu (for now at least) on Friday’s April 23 farewell episode.
Korbi TV stopped by the new Los Angeles set of “AMC” and spoke to Michael E. Knight (Tad Martin) about Canary’s decision to retire.
“That’s a huge hit for us,” Knight says of David whom he shared a dressing room with when they were both newbies back in the early 80s.
“I’ve always been very proud to work with him… You know, everybody sort of has issues,...

Only yesterday, the word began circulating that David Canary was leaving 'All My Children,' exiting the soap after 27 years. He was saying goodbye to the dual role of Adam and Stuart Chandler, a part that had been very good to him, earning him five Daytime Emmy awards.
Today, ABC sent out a press release and issued the official story. David Canary was decided to retire from 'All My Children.' He will stop shooting in March, but will still be seen on the show through April 2010. And with David's departure, the character of Adam Chandler will be checking out, too. There will be a power struggle in Chandler Industries caused by his absence, likely with Jr, Scott and Annie going at it.

David Canary is leaving Pine Valley, while Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is making a stop.
Canary joined "All My Children" in 1983 as patriarch Adam Chandler, as well as his shy twin brother Stuart.
Canary's work garnered him Daytime Emmy awards for Lead Actor in 1988, 1989, 1993, 1995 and 2001. He will be on the air through the end of April 2010.
Fans can expect a dramatic end to Chandler's marriage to Annie (Melissa Claire Egan) and a reunion with one of his former wives. We wonder which one -- Althea, Erica, Brooke, Dixie, Natalie, Gloria, Liza, Arlene or Krystal? Yes, we know some of them are deceased. That's never stopped a soap opera before. We're hoping for Krystal.
Canary's character always had a heated rivalry with fellow Pine Valley gentleman Palmer Cortlandt, played by James Mitchell. Perhaps Canary's retirement has something to do with Mitchell's recent passing.

All My Children is about to get a little less dramatic. David Canary, who has played the death-faking, Erica Kane-duping power broker Adam Chandler (and, for awhile, his twin brother Stuart) for 27 years, has announced that he is retiring from the stalwart ABC soap opera. "My career on All My Children has given me more than words could ever covey, both professionally and personally," the five-time Daytime Emmy Award winner said Tuesday. "I have cherished each and every moment. I would like to thank all the fans who have tuned in throughout the years. Their love and support has meant the world to me." But he added, "This not the last you've seen of Adam Chandler. I will be back to...
