Due to glorious press release timing, 20th Century Fox TV has landed a separate story for its Comic-Con 2014 schedule, even though several of the shows were previously announced in my FX/History Comic-Con 2014 story. Showtime, however, was less lucky and its lone Comic-Con 2014 panel has been bundled into this story along with the 20th Century Fox panels. So continue along for Comic-Con panel details for "Penny Dreadful," as well as "24: Live Another Day," "The Simpsons," "Sleepy Hollow," "Family Guy," "Bob's Burgers," "Salem" and more. Thursday, July 24 *** "24" (10 a.m. in Ballroom 20) - Kiefer Sutherland takes the stage for a panel celebrating "24: Live Another Day." Kiefer is the only announced cast member, but with Jon Cassar listed as moderator, it would be silly to moderate a panel with only one person. *** "Legends" (12:30 p.m. in Room 6A) - TNT's new FBI undercover drama stars "Game of Thrones" veteran Sean Bean,...

This week on Trailers from Hell, writer and produce Alan Spencer talks Joshua Logan's outsize 1969 gold rush musical "Paint Your Wagon," starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Marvin and Jean Seberg. Movie musicals don't come with a more problematic pedigree than director Josh Logan's Paint Your Wagon. Starring two notably tone-deaf non-singers, Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood, and written by that exemplar of "Kitchen Sink" realism, Paddy Chayefsky, Logan's film is a 2 1/2 hour musical made at a time when the genre was considered box-office poison (the film turned out to be one of Paramount's highest grossing films but never earned enough to cover its budget). Marvin, who had a No. 1 hit in the UK with his rendition of "Wanderin' Star," turned down The Wild Bunch for this.

The Voice’s season finale aired last night with Will Champlin and Tessanne Chin from Team Adam Levine and Jacquie Lee from Team Christina Aguilera competing for the winning title. Lady Gaga, Aloe Blacc, Celine Dion, Ne-Yo, Paramore and OneRepublic joined the contestants to perform in a star-studded finale.
The Voice Recap: Group Performances
Chin, Lee and Champlin opened the star-studded night with the rest of the Top 20 performing Outasight’s “Tonight Is The Night.” It was great seeing the rest of the contestants back, and the performance was a lot of fun.
For her Bring-Back Performance Lee brought Matthew Schuler, Caroline Pennell, James Wolpert and Cole Vosbury back to sing an entertaining — but shortened — rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The performance had the coaches rocking out in their seats.
Josh Logan, Schuler, Nic Hawk, Preston Pohl and Ray Boudreaux, some of the eliminated male contestants, came together and performed “Treasure” by Bruno Mars.

Another installment of The Voice has come to its feel-good conclusion — and all that’s left are the inevitable debates about whether Season 5′s champ will finally be the one to achieve breakout, Clarkson- or Underwood-level success and if Mark Burnett will come to his senses and go all Michonne on those blasted SwayBots between now and next spring. Just like the holidays, The Voice finals are creeping up on us. After Tuesday’s eliminations episode, only six singers are left to duke it out next week. We caught up with one of the two eliminated artists from the top eight, Caroline Pennell, the 17-year-old high school senior whose honeysuckle-sweet voice charmed America and her colorful coach Cee Lo Green. She began the competition as a shy singer, seemingly unaware of her talent. But after making it to the top eight, which isn’t any easy task, Pennell didn’t leave empty-handed, “I think a visible change would probably be just my comfort level,...

That's a wrap for Cee Lo Green on The Voice, as his third and final contestant was sent home last night in as many weeks of viewer voting.
After circling the drain but being instantly saved by America last week, Caroline Pennell could no longer escape her fate. Apparently the17-year-old drab-to-fab starlet's rendition of Florence and the Machine's "Dog Days Are Over" didn't impress viewers. And neither did Ray Boudreaux from Blake Shelton's team, who also got eliminated.

The Voice is like a snow globe this season – it loves to be shaken up. And last night's performance show lived by that philosophy, as the artists and coaches once again focused on making risky choices. While it paid off for some, others – including one-time frontrunners – might find themselves in trouble, especially because it's about that time in the season when "shocking" eliminations start happening.
The biggest blunder of the night came from Matthew Schuler, whose rendition of contemporary classic "Hallelujah" from two weeks ago is still floating around the...

You might not have noticed it at the time, but Jonny Gray‘s collected Season 5 performances on The Voice doubled as a journey through rock-music history.
“What was cool about my time on the show is that I got to hit every era of music: I did the 2000s with The Killers, I did the ’70s with Petty, I did the ’60s with The Beatles, I did the ’90s with The Verve and then I finished it off in the ’80s with Phil Collins. I hit the last 50 years of music!”

Adam Levine may be People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2014 — yep, Carson Daly confirmed that the rumors are true — but the Maroon 5 singer got relegated to third-place status on The Voice‘s Season 5 Top 10 results telecast.
Finishing ahead of him? First runner-up Cher, of course, breathing life into a sleepy “Voice confessional” segment with her flame-red hair and “Honey, I’m a legend!” brand of humor.

Tonight, two more singers go home, leaving a scant eight singers left in the competition. After a Monday night of middling performances and strange coaching techniques (Vinyasa yoga anyone? Care for a multi-man lift atop your baby grand piano?), and a lack of standout performers, has tonight’s possible pool of eliminations been split wide open?
Well, the game isn’t quite as unpredictable and exciting as viewers deserve. A quick glance on the iTunes Top 200 singles chart will give you a rough idea of who will remain in the top seven. It’s the bottom three singers who are up for grabs.

Welcome to Song Choice 101 – a.k.a. last night's performances on The Voice. While Blake Shelton is still the best song selector, even he faltered as the top 10 took the stage (see: Austin Jenckes). As a veteran of 2006′s Rock Star: Supernova, Josh Logan knows better than any of his current Voice counterparts what national TV exposure can do for the career prospects of a working musician — and how important it is to capitalize on said momentum.

It looks like even the competition is loving Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler on ‘The Voice.’ Team Christina’s talented crooners have dominated the live shows since day one, and Blake Shelton is finally starting the feel the heat.
The Voice has always been about finding that next voice, but competition between the coaches is a huge component in what keeps fans coming back for more. So when HollywoodLife hit The Voice‘s big elimination show last night, we just had to ask — is Blake Shelton shaking in his cowboy boots over Team Christina’s talent? After Monday’s The Voice performances, it looked like Will Champlin and Ray Boudreaux could be heading home this week. But, their luck held up and they will stay to perform another week. Jonny Gray, Kat Robichaud, and Josh Logan dropped to the bottom three spots. At this point, The Voice debuted its newest twist – the Tweet Save. For a period of five minutes, viewers watching the live performance on the east coast could tweet the name of the competitor they wished to say. It took about thirty seconds to calculate the Twitter votes (I’m still unclear on how this is even possible), and Kat emerged as the saved competitor.
As could be expected, on the red carpet after the show, there were lots of questions for Carson Daly on this new system. A key issue is whether it alienates The Voice fans that watch the west coast airing.

‘Voice’ fans were given five minutes to tweet the name of the artist they wanted to save Nov. 12, and after all was said and tweeted, Kat Robichaud was rescued over Josh Logan and Jonny Gray. Twitter voters, you done wrong!
It’s not that Kat Robichaud, 29, is a bad performer. It’s just that The Voice‘s fifth season is so chock-full of better talent — like, say, Jonny Gray and Josh Logan — they she didn’t deserve that save.
Josh Logan: ‘Man In The Mirror’ Deserved The Save
Now, I’m not going to lie and claim that Jonny and Josh are the show’s best performers. Between Matthew Schuler and Jacquie Lee, Team Christina essentially already has this season in the bag. But Josh absolutely crushed the iconic “Man In The Mirror” on the Nov. 11 show.

Never underestimate the power of Blake Shelton on The Voice.
Although his team lacks a country singer and it seems like the deck has been stacked against him, the three-time winner was still able to hold onto all three of his contestants in the first 100 percent viewer-voted elimination of the season. None of them were even in the bottom three! A pretty amazing feat considering Austin Jenckes was one of only three contestants who didn't crack the top 100 of the iTunes songs chart this week.

It was a first for ‘The Voice’ on Nov. 12, when the fans got to decide who they wanted to save from the bottom three. We all had five minutes to tweet who we thought deserved to stay after the bottom three were announced — however, it resulted in a shocking double elimination!
Since all 12 of the finalists are extremely talented, it was tough to see anyone go home on The Voice – but the two who were eliminated were not at all who we were expecting. Do you agree with America’s save?
‘The Voice’ Performances
The show opened with an awesome performance of “Brave” by Sara Bareilles along with Kat Robichaud, Caroline Pennell, Jacquie Lee, and Tessanne Chin.
Take Our Poll
Coach Ceelo Green performed with his team for his first time this season, singing “Roam.” Wearing a black dress-like(?) pant suit, the harmony sounded really beautiful with two men and two women.

Tuesday (Nov. 12) saw "The Voice" Top 12 lose two of its members, as the show introduced Season 5's latest big twist: The Instant Save. Who did America put in the bottom three and who did they turn out in droves to save via Twitter during those final five minutes?

It's here: For the first time this season on The Voice, the power is truly in America's hands. There are no judges' steals or saves. Viewer votes alone will decide the fate of the top 12 contestants. Based on those votes, two will be eliminated – no matter which team they're on. (Although it was revealed that for the first time ever, viewers will have an insta-save, where live-tweeting will pull one contestant back from the brink.)
Separating the wheat from the chaff is the primary goal now, and some coaches are better at it than others.

Matthew Schuler has wow’d me week after week, and honestly — I can’t remember a time that I’ve ever seen such a talented, male singer take ‘The Voice’ stage (with the exception of Adam and Blake).
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Christina Aguilera‘s team will absolutely win The Voice this season. We’ve heard “Hallelujah” on almost every signing competition — but Matthew Schuler‘s rendition has to be one of the best renditions ever.
Matthew Schuler: Why He Could Win ‘The Voice’
When you hear a song over and over again, year after year, on every show, it gets old — fast. However, Matthew did something different than other artists have. Honestly, this was the most unique and impressive version, even bumping my favorite by Kate Voegele.

Prediction: Tuesday night’s installment of The Voice will be as painful as cardboard paper cut, as unpopular as the words “Paris Hilton’s pop-culture comeback” and as unwelcome as the “shot through some sorority chick’s ‘heart fingers’” camera angle employed during Matthew Schuler’s Top 12 performance of “Hallelujah.”
Believe it or not, I mean this in no way as an insult to NBC’s juggernaut singing competition. It’s just that, with not a single singer bellyflopping into the very deep talent pool Monday night, the prospect of two impending eliminations seems somehow illegal, or at the very least heartbreaking.

Which two singers do You think deserve to be eliminated tomorrow night? Read our take on the top 12′s performances, then vote!
The Voice‘s top 12 contestants took the stage Nov. 11 for a live face-off of epic proportions — and no, I’m not just saying that because Matt Lauer was in attendance. It really was a huge episode full of incredible talent, but only one singer received a standing ovation from all four coaches: Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury! The bearded powerhouse took a huge risk performing Miguel‘s “Adorn,” but his gamble totally paid off in the end.
‘The Voice’ Top 12: Who Else Shone Bright?
Caroline Pennell was first on the stage, and she set the bar pretty high with her crowd-pleasing — no, she literally walked into the crowd at one point — performance of “Wake Me Up.” Even Blake Shelton had to tip his (metaphorical) hat to Caroline,...

With the Season 5 live playoffs of "The Voice" behind us, it's time for the true competition begin. The Top 12 are prepping to take the stage to find for America's vote, with coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and CeeLo Green only able to sit back and hope one of their artists can bring home the trophy for their team. Who will perform well enough to advance to the Top 10? Let's find out!
First up is Team CeeLo's Caroline Pennell. CeeLo's having the cutie sing Avicii's "Wake Me Up" this week. The coach things she's the one to beat, which may be a stretch, but she's certainly a strong contender.
Caroline's youth matches the lyrical content of the song perfectly, and her voice seems to be growing stronger as each week passes. It's an adorable performance, certainly setting the night off on a good foot.
Side note: Wtf is CeeLo wearing?...

Voice fans: I know it’s a tad early in the game, but is season 5 shaping up to be the most interesting season of the highly rated reality competition yet?
After the reveal of last week’s top 12, it’s apparent that this season is already breaking two important trends. One, with only four female singers remaining, is it safe to say we can expect The Voice to be a male one? There hasn’t been a male winner since season 1′s Javier Colon and season 2′s Jermaine Paul. Factors of probability aside, has there ever been a season with...

Raise your hand if you're confused by various choices made on The Voice last night.
We'll assume your hands are up. Because, really, who would have predicted some of the people who made it through? But it wasn't America who made the head-scratching picks on the first viewer-voted eliminations of the season – it was the coaches.

The Voice revealed its Top 12 Thursday night, thanks to America's votes and some anguished decisions from the coaches.
Earlier in the week, the remaining five contestants from each team delivered a string of strong performances during the first live shows. The two singers from each team with the most votes would automatically advance to the next round, while the coaches had to choose to save just one of their three remaining teammates.

Sure to please fans across the nation, “The Voice” season 5 top 12 was unveiled on tonight's (November 7) special results show. Turning up the hype with a fantastic red carpet event, the team leaders rolled out in style in Universal Studios Hollywood.
Posing for a handful of individual snapshots, and later taking a feature "family photo," together, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green all showed up for the event, each of them bringing their own flare, both to the photos, and to the show.
According to the episode results, The two contestants from each team who received the most votes were automatically safe, but the bottom three experienced different fates.
Blake Shelton’s team saved Ray Boudreaux, instead of Shelbie Z and Nic Hawk, while Christina Aguilera’s team, Olivia Henken and Stephanie Anne Johnson were eliminated to save Josh Logan.

In the spirit of total honesty, I have to make a confession: Whenever Cee Lo Green serves up his usual blend of word salad on The Voice, my brain goes all fuzzy like an old black-and-white TV set with faulty bunny ears. (Cut to all of the show’s teenage contestants: “What do you mean by black-and-white TV set? And what does a TV have to do with bunnies?”)
But on tonight’s Live Playoffs results telecast — which whittled the Season 5 field from 20 vocalists down to a lean, mean 12 — the henna-headed, eccentric coach delivered a message that not only made sense,...

It's a very special Thursday night episode of "The Voice," with Season 5's Top 20 about to face the music and find out which two artists from each time earned America's vote to advance to the Top 12. Who will move on and who will coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green and Adam Levine use their one save on? Let's find out!
Before we can get to any results, it's time for a team performance. Taking the stage together for the first time together this season, it's Team Blake. Performing "Free Ride," these five disparate artists don't sound too terrific together. And the less said about that cheesy dance break from Nic Hawk, the better.
Time for some eliminations. First up to learn their fate is Blake's team. The first artist advancing to next week's show is Austin Jenckes, followed by Cole Vosbury. With Nic, Shelbie Z. and Ray Boudreaux left and only one save available,...

Two nights and 20 performances – there’s a lot of NBC’s “The Voice” to cover this week, so let’s cut the chitchat and get to my favorite (and least favorite) moments from the live playoffs! 1. “The Voice Matrix.” “The Voice” is eating itself, you guys. Amber Nicole covered “Wasting All These Tears” from Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope, and Josh Logan performed “Crazy” directly in front of the song’s originator coach Cee Lo Green. The show is referencing itself so hard that “The Voice Matrix” is slowly coming apart at the seams. Be afraid. 2. The real winners this week.

Have you found yourself aligning with any particular teams this early in the game? Do you fancy Blake’s army of country and soul singers? Or Christina’s band of divas and diva-men? This time around, instead of the coaches deciding our fair singers’ fates, it’s you, America. Read on for a crash course on the teams and vote for your favorites.

I really love the knockout rounds, because this is when hubris ruins people’s lives, like a Greek tragedy! So often, when the contestants pick their own songs, they can’t even sing them. There is a difference between liking a song and being able to sing it well with your actual voice. A lesson for us all.Josh Logan vs. Amber NicoleThis was a battle where song choice made a massive difference. Amber chose one that was slightly out of range and essentially tuneless. She did a great job, but Josh sang a beautiful Stevie Wonder song just like Stevie Wonder would have, which is obviously impressive. Christina really did need to pick Josh, but I was quite glad that Amber was stolen by Cee Lo. Kat Robichaud vs. Monika LeighWhat is a better song than “You Oughta Know”? Everyone should listen to it all the time. Janey Jimplin...

Fans got quite the shakedown on The Voice Monday thanks to an eye-opening, sexy and unexpected hip shake from Jasper, Ala., native Shelbie Z., who turned it up several notches on the show's first evening of knockout rounds.
The hairdresser and beauty-pageant coach not only owned Carrie Underwood's morning-after confessional "Last Name," she also showed real star potential and plenty of attitude, playing with her long blond hair provocatively but letting her growling vocals steal the night for Team Blake.

Ka-pow! Let the knockout rounds begin on The Voice.
Just one step away from the live rounds, the coaches must cut their teams in half by pairing off teammates to perform against one another. Tasked with picking their own songs, only one will move on.

But this season there's a twist – for the first time ever, each coach has one final steal. (And it's implied that they can steal someone back that they had previously cut loose in the battle rounds.

‘The Voice’ kicked off its first night of knock-out rounds Oct. 28 by introducing a game-changing, but not-so-secret, weapon for each of the coaches: another steal! Each coach now has the chance to snatch one last singer from another team before the live rounds begin.
While The Voice‘s knock-out rounds offer the first opportunity for one-on-one coaching, they’re also a time during which each coach has to cut his or her team in half. Read on to see if your favorite contestants will be advancing to the live rounds!

Welcome to a new week, "Voice" fans. It's time for the Knockout Rounds. Gone are the days of the Battle Round duets. Instead, each coach will pair up two singers who will each get to select their own song and sing one after the other, fighting for one spot on their team. Who will coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and CeeLo Green keep around and who's getting the boot? Let's find out.
Knockout #1: Team Christina's Amber Nicole vs. Josh Logan
Amber Nicole: "Mama Knows Best" (Jessie J)
Amber decided to take on Jessie's sassy kiss-off track because she felt like it was right in her wheelhouse and she's not wrong. She may be super young, but her performances thus far have revealed that this girl packs quite a punch. She commands the stage during her performance. It's such a theatrical song and she plays that up perfectly.
