Meg Stalter is taking the lead in her latest feature “Cora Bora.”
The comedy, which premiered at the 2023 SXSW Festival, stars the “Hacks” breakout actress as the titular musician who goes home to win back her girlfriend only to realize it’s much more than her love life that needs salvaging.
Hannah Pearl Utt directs the comedy from a script by Rhianon Jones. The cast includes Jojo T. Gibbs, Manny Jacinto, Ayden Mayeri, Thomas Mann, Chrissie Fit, Andre Hyland, Margaret Cho, Chelsea Peretti, and Darrell Hammond. The film features original music and a score composed by indie artist Miya Folick.
“I’m thrilled for audiences to get to see Meg in a leading role and to fall for her character the way I have,” director Utt said in a press statement.
The IndieWire review called Stalter a “whirlwind and a universe unto herself” who boasts “her unique brand of uncomfortably confident loser” onscreen.

Exclusive: Lissette Feliciano (Women Is Losers) is attached to write and direct On Your Feet, a feature adaptation of the same-name Broadway musical that’s in early development at Sony Pictures, Deadline has learned.
A jukebox musical that tells the inspiring true story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, two Cuban immigrants who launched themselves to international musical stardom from humble beginnings, On Your Feet will be produced by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, as well as John and Jordan Davis of Davis Entertainment, with John Fox exec producing.
Premiering in November 2015 at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway, where it ran for more than 750 performances, the show specifically hones in on Gloria’s Estefan’s trajectory from her early days in Miami to her breakthrough as the lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine — a crossover artist, blending Latin and pop music — and ultimately, her triumphant return to the stage after a near-fatal accident.

"That's so shallow. I love this for you." Universal has revealed an official trailer for a direct-to-vod sex comedy called The List, which looks as cheesy and cliche as you might expect from that title. Just as she starts to get close to living the ultimate dream in La La Land, things become complicated when Abby meets Jake, a waiter with big dreams of his own, who offers a fresh perspective. Starring Halston Sage as Abby, Christian Navarro, Lucy DeVito, Clark Backo, and Chrissie Fit, plus the hot guys: Rich Morrow as Mac West, Gregg Sulkin as Cooper,...

The new trailer for Universal’s romantic comedy “The List” teases Halston Sage and Christian Navarro finding love in a hopeless place – Los Angeles.
Abby (Sage) wasn’t expecting to add Jake (Navarro) to her dating itinerary, but after a rough breakup leads to her building a list of celebrity “free passes” and traveling to Los Angeles to court the rich and famous, his ambition and charm catches her off guard and flips her expectations of love on their head.
The romcom charts Abby’s personal reinvention when her fiancé cheats on her and sleeps with a celebrity on his “free pass” list. Brittany Snow is opening up about one of the “hardest mental health challenges” she has faced in the past year and how she has relied on her friends for support.
Although Snow doesn’t reveal too many details, the American Dreams alum filed for divorce in January of this year from husband of two years Tyler Stanaland. The couple had announced they were separated four months prior amid drama stemming from the Netflix reality series Selling the Oc.
“In the past year I went through probably the hardest mental health challenge I’ve ever faced. In one day, in a matter of hours, my life turned completely upside down,” Snow told Bustle. “I was blindsided and every thing I thought I knew, held sacred and truly trusted in my life was completely different.”
Snow continued, “A couple days later my grandmother passed away and I think every thing I knew about mental health was tested.

Marvel's latest super friend is certainly switching it up for "Women Is Losers," the newest film from actress, producer, and director Lissette Feliciano. This equally depressing and uplifting movie has Simu Liu (who you definitely know from "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" and "Kim's Convenience") acting alongside Lorenza Izzo ("Once Upon A Time In Hollywood"), Bryan Craig ("General Hospital") and Chrissie Fit ("Pitch Perfect 2") in a film that's based off of Feliciano and her mother's lived experiences as Latina women in America. And if you're struck by the title, you might want to check out the Janis Joplin song it's referencing.

After the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday night denied a request to issue emergency relief blocking Texas’ new law that bans abortion at six weeks and, say opponents, effectively eliminates access to abortions statewide, some big names in entertainment expressed their opinions about the legislation.

Reese Witherspoon, Alyssa Milano, Dua Lipa, Kerry Washington, St. Vincent, Eva Longoria Baston, Bad Robot and P!nk were among them. Many shared an image with the text, “I stand in solidarity with Texans & people everywhere seeking reproductive freedom.” The full list of the celebrities who support that sentiment is below; the vast majority of the signatories are women.

It didn't take much for Lorenza Izzo to fall in love with the role of Celina Guerrara in Women Is Losers. "The second I finished the script, there was not a fiber in my body that was telling me, 'Oh no, you shouldn't do this,'" she told Popsugar. "It was like my blood, my soul, my brain, my body was like, 'This is a story that needs to be heard. It's an important story, an ambitious story.'" Ambitious is an understatement for what Izzo and director/writer/producer Lissette Feliciano had in mind when it came to tackling the issues of being a Latina in the '60s. Even getting the film made was an issue on its own. "There was just something so meta about the film in terms of getting resources. To get this movie made was incredibly difficult,...

“Men always seem to end up on top,” goes “Women Is Losers,” the Janis Joplin song that lends writer-director Lissette Feliciano’s 1960s-set feature debut its title. It’s a fitting line to ponder in the context of her over-enthusiastic yet frustratingly clumsy feminist film, which declares “inspired by real women” in its first frame before going on to illustrate their struggles against the era’s routine sexism.
It’s obvious that those unnamed and undoubtedly courageous real women mean a great deal to Feliciano, who utilizes her picture’s protagonist — a young, hardworking San Franciscan battling against the period’s patriarchal indignities — as a mouthpiece to give them a retroactive voice, and perhaps even to interrogate how far women’s rights today still have to go in a world where men continue to end up on top. But while these are commendably well-intentioned ambitions, “Women Is Losers” sadly squanders...

Lissette Feliciano’s feature debut is just as scrappy as her leading lady. When “Women Is Losers” kicks off — so named for the Janis Joplin song of the same name — a righteously pissed off Celina (the wonderful Lorenza Izzo) is all but dragging her cheating husband Mateo (Bryan Craig) out of another woman’s apartment by his hair, but she’s still got the time to turn to the camera and apologize for any perceived lack of production value. This is, after all, “a story about making do with what you’ve got,” and both Feliciano and Celina make a lot out of their talents and passions.

In these highly cynical times, it might be hard to process the true-life tale of a young couple’s romance cut short by terminal illness. But the warmth and touching tenderness of “All My Life” melts even the coldest of hearts in its quest to deliver happy and sad tears. Unlike the phony, syrupy, and predictably manipulative devices of a Nicholas Sparks romance (which contains the base similarity that someone dies tragically), this three-hankie weepie holds a surprising amount of heart and hope to accompany all the cathartic crying.
Jenn Carter (Jessica Rothe) is just an average college student, getting her master’s degree in psychology and hanging out with friends Megan (Marielle Scott) and Amanda (Chrissie Fit). But a chance meeting in a sports bar brings about the greatest moment of her life: meeting Solomon “Sol” Chau (Harry Shum Jr.), a digital marketing analyst whose true career passion lies in cooking.
