Exclusive: What started as a cool teaser trailer on Deadline has turned into a full-fledged movie package that will be shopped hard at Berlin next week. Andrew Will has written and will direct The Prototype, a sci-fi thriller that will be produced by Will and Shawn Wallace of Variant Films, Sean Cushing of Cantina Creative and Max Leitman of Bandito Brothers. This is being put together in a similar fashion that the Bandito Brothers employed when it did Act Of Valor, the $12 million film that has grossed over $80 million. FilmNation is financing, and Glen Basner will be in Berlin next week selling international rights. Wme Global’s Graham Taylor will be spearheading the domestic deal. We run a lot of trailers on this site, and agency parodies that have gotten jobs and representation for actors and directors, but this is a new one for Deadline. Since we broke this trailer in June,...

FilmNation has announced that they will provide financing for Andrew Will’s (Archangel) The Prototype, a film being produced by the Bandito Brothers, who also made the gritty box office hit Act Of Valor.
The project first begat notoriety when a clip of a short film (being shopped by WWE) was leaked on the internet. Then, in swooped FilmNation and the Bandito Brothers, and like magic, the short film is being turned into a feature entitled The Prototype. According to Bandito Brothers’ producer Max Leitman, The Prototype “combines immersive action and a high-concept story, to the big screen.” FilmNation’s Glen Basner added: “I loved Andrew’s short and immediately saw the potential for a thrilling and cool film. After working with the Bandito Brothers on Act of Valor, I know this will be one of the most exciting action films to date.”

Coming off the special forces mayhem of “Act of Valor”, the $12 million dollar film that they financed and shot themselves over a four-year period and is now poised to earn a pretty penny at the box office, the Bandito Brothers are moving on to the vehicular mayhem of “High Speed”, a movie about illegal street racing. Scott Waugh (one of the Bandito Brothers, along with “Act of Valor” co-director Mouse McCoy and producers Max Leitman and Jay Pollak) will helm “High Speed” from a script by Greg Russo. A few weeks ago I got an invite to see a NYC test screening with just the information of Aov and it involving someone who worked on 300. Due to not normally attending these types of screenings and having absolutely zero interest upon further examination, I turned it down. A new report on Deadline and a wealth of new details are making me rethink that decision.
The film, a “mission movie involving Navy Seals,” is titled Act of Valour (or Act of Valor on IMDb) and stars actual, active duty members of United States Navy’s sea, air and land teams, while also being backed by the military. Written by 300‘s Kurt Johnstad (300) and directed by Mike “Mouse” McCoy and...

Bandito Brothers, the Los Angeles-based HD production and post facility that specializes in high-octane action content, is getting an infusion of capital from private-equity group Hyperion Entertainment & Media Group and Legendary Pictures chairman and CEO Thomas Tull.
The deal is valued at $18 million, with Hyperion and Tull taking a stake in Bandito, which will use the funds to develop a slate of films (fictional and documentary), TV and new-media properties.
Bandito was founded in late 2006 by Mike "Mouse" McCoy, the champion motorcycle racer and stuntman, and Scott Waugh, the filmmaker and former president of Stunts Unlimited. In addition to McCoy, who serves as CEO and creative director, and Waugh, who functions as producer, director and editor, Bandito's principals include COO Max Leitman and chief technology officer Jacob Rosenberg.
Steering clear of CGI effects in favor of pedal-to-the-metal action-adventure filmmaking, Bandito has turned out footage for such clients as BF Goodrich, Ford, Volkswagen, ESPN X-Games, Navy Special Warfare and Xbox Live that has been used across multiple platforms from commercials to Web sites.
