We posted the "Victims" trading cards the other day from Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams and now here's the"Villians"! The one below is of China Rose played by the very cool Kathryn Le. You know these cards are virtual but I think I'd buy the set if they ever made up some real trading cards! Click on the card to go see all of the others and remember 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams is out on Tuesday July 20th.

Dread hosted last night - in conjunction with First Look Studios, The American Cinematheque and club Les Deux - the L.A. premiere of filmmaker Tim Sullivan’s splatstick feature 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, and while the bulk of the coverage is on its way from Dread Central’s Cricket Lee, below check out a handful of stills and video of yours truly welcoming director Sullivan to the stage.
Regardless of the sweltering summer heat, the event was packed, with 2001 Maniacs cast members Bill Moseley, Lin Shaye, Christa Campbell, Ahmed Best, Trevor Wright, Adam Robitel, Katy Marie Johnson, Asa Hope, Alana Curry, Alex Luria, Larayia Gaston, Christopher McDaniel, Miles Dougal, Nicole Rae, Andrea Leon, Clifford Allen Wagner and Kathryn Le in attendance for the red carpet and premiere. Also on hand to lend their support to Sullivan, whose "Scream Queens 2" hosted reality show...

After five long years Tim Sullivan is delivering more Southern fried flesh and blood and laughs with 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams. What happens in this sequel is the good Southern folk of Pleasant Valley hop on the bus, literally and head out to find more Northern victims aka Damn Yankess. The "Pleasant Valley Traveling Jamboree" makes it's stop in Iowa and along comes some potential new victims who are doing a reality show called "Road Rascals"starring spoiled rich sisters Rome Sheraton (Katy Johnson) and Tina sheraton (Asa Hope) along with their crew and co-stars.
Introductions are made and the killings begin! Mayor Buckman (Bill Moseley) and Granny Boone (Lin Shaye) lead the southern charge of inventive gory slaughter. This horror/comedy sequel is running on all cylinders like it's predecessor with an added bonus, there's much more blood and boobs! No offense ladies, I'm just telling it like it is and I like it!

Director Tim Sullivan got in touch with a progress report on 2001 Maniacs: Field Of Screams, the sequel to his 2005 Herschell Gordon Lewis homage. And to make it even more appealing, he passed on an exclusive photo (see it below) of Maniacs gals Scarlet Red (played by Nicole Rae) and China Rose (Kathryn Le) “showing off some good ol’ Soutehrn hospitality,” Sullivan tells us.
As for the film itself (which we last reported on here), a temp version was originally slated to be shown to potential distributors at the current American Film Market in Los Angeles, but the filmmaker reports, “After much consideration, the producers and I all made what I believe was the very wise decision to postpone the screenings till the film is 100 percent complete. As wonderful as it looks, there is still a lot of sound work to be done; the current mix, score and Adr are still only temp.

This Dread Central scribe (along with 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys actress Kathryn Le) hit the black carpet of the opening night of Rachel Belofsky's 2009 Screamfest La film festival last night, as well as the after-party at Boulevard 3. Pictures and more follow!
The fest kicked off with the action/horror hybrid The Tournament (an interesting choice to which the audience responded favorably). That film’s director, Scott Mann, was in attendance for the festivities, as were Dimension Films’ Barry Gordon, The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (review here) actresses Ashley C. Williams and Ashlyn Yennie, journalist and actor Luke Thompson, and many more. Click each of the below photos to see them full-size.
Belofsky’s venerated L.A. Screamfest continues tonight in Hollywood with screenings of the features Macabre (review here), Finale, and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl (review here) and runs until October 24. The fest’s centerpiece film, The House of the Devil...

Dread just got back from the world premiere of Rob Zombie's Halloween II (held last night at Mann's Chinese in Hollywood, Ca) as well as the ensuing after-party which took place at Mood on Hollywood Boulevard, and while it really wasn't much of a work night for this scribe, I figured I’d be remiss if I didn't provide at least a bit of ocular coverage.
Playing to a packed and enthusiastic crowd, Halloween II writer and director Zombie was mobbed by paparazzi and fans alike post-show. On hand for the screening and following soiree (and sipping such film-inspired concoctions as the ‘Halloween Twist’ and the ‘Black Widow’) were H2 stars Tyler Mane, Scout Taylor Compton, Malcolm McDowell, Sheri Moon Zombie and series alumna Danielle Harris (among others), as were Zombie stables Sybil Danning and Daniel Roebuck. Horror notables in attendance also included Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (the boys...
