“Top Chef” season 15 ended on March 8, 2018 with host Padma Lakshmi revealing the winner chosen by two renowned chefs — Tom Colicchio and Graham Elliot — and award-winning food writer Gail Simmons. To be showcased on this Emmy-winning show for months on end has boosted the profile of all previous 14 winners of “Top Chef.”
We wanted to know what happened to these 14 folks in the years since they took the title. We did some digging and discovered that some of them are running their own restaurants while others work for established locations or freelance.
In the photo gallery above and the text below, we recap each of the first 14 seasons of “Top Chef,” noting the locations, the judges and other finalists. And we update the resumes of all of the winning chefs.

Top Chef season 14 came to an end Thursday night in its typical nail-biting fashion, with returning chefs Brooke Williamson and Shirley Chung both serving up epic meals in their final challenge (and us stress-eating the whole way through).
At the end of their four-course feasts, Williamson walked away with the coveted title—after getting eliminated earlier in the season, coming back through Last Chance Kitchen, and fighting her way back to the top. So when she chatted with People Food about her comeback win, there was a lot of ground to cover!

Casey Thompson, contestant in Season 3 of Top Chef, is partnering with Sam's Club to help promote the store for their non-bulk items.
"The way that they wanted to bring this to the forefront was to have chefs show off how to use different ingredients to use a store for weekly meals, instead of toilet paper shopping once a month," Thompson said. "They really actually have a wide selection of fresh items. Fresh vegetables and fish and meat and cheeses."
Thompson is also sharing some of her own recipes with Sam's Club shoppers through the store's website to show how to use their mix of fresh and bulk items in everyday meals.
"Some of the recipes that I put in there show how to incorporate fresh ingredients with bulk can ingredients," Thompson said of the recipes. "I took a case of Hunt's diced tomatoes and extended them: a breakfast dish, an appetizer dish,...

At the conclusion of this week's Top Chef, Casey Thompson was told her dish was simply "inedible."
A harsh critique, to be sure. Was it deserved? Not according to the All-Star herself. In the following TV Guide interview, Thompson defends her cooking and talks about what went wrong.
On team challenges: What I've come to realize about team challenges is they drum up a lot of drama and it makes it really difficult for us to work together and work alone at the same time. You see the train wreck coming, you just don't know how to prevent it.
On her use of chicken feet: I use chicken feet at the restaurant that I'm at, and the way we use them is to flavor our food... Have I ever cooked them for people in Chinatown? No, never. I was actually hoping for a dish where they would think, "These are damn good chicken feet.

Top Chef has had some chaotic elimination challenges, but this week's jumbled dim sum service resulted in a whole lot of angry — and hungry — patrons reduced to stealing food off the carts. During the madness, front-of-the-house volunteer Casey Thompson was forced to leave her dish in her fellow cheftestants' hands, and the judges' described the final product as "inedible."
Find out what the Texas native says about what went wrong during the disastrous service, why she went on a limb and opted to use chicken feet, and if she blames her colleagues for what went wrong with her dish. Plus: Why was she convinced Jamie was going home over her?

Casey Thompson isn't happy she got sent home on last night's episode of Top Chef All Stars. But it's not like she's losing sleep over it. We caught up with the Ft. Worth-based chef this morning to talk chicken feet, Jamie and her—ready for this?—love of butchery in art... What happened? Why'd you go home so soon? I kind of feel like it was out of control. That's what it was. It's just hilarious to me. It was totally out of control and a disaster. Do you think it was a fair challenge? (The cheftestants had to prepare dim sum for about 100 people at Chinatown restaurant in NYC) Looking back at it now, it was set up for disaster. Let's just look...

Top Chef All-Stars' judges are defending their decision to send Casey Thompson home instead of Jamie Lauren, and they say it was simply because Casey's food was inedible--perhaps because she volunteered to work in the dining room during the dim sum challenge, an example of a chef once again being eliminated for doing too much instead of taking the easy way out. (And it's another somewhat controversial elimination for this season, which is perhaps inevitable...

It's Top Chef's 100 episode - and even Tom Colicchio joined the party by rolling up his sleeves and cooking for the first time ever on the Bravo show. And it wasn't just in good fun. Nope, Chef Tom laid down an imposing Quickfire challenge. The chefs would have to test their speed and ability and cook a dish in the time in took him to prep his own creation. In the end, it took Colicchio just eight minutes and 37 seconds to whip up black sea bass with clams, zucchini and tomatoes. "This will be the first and last time I do this,...

Let's give a big hootie-hoo to Carla Hall, who nabbed her first Top Chef: All-Stars victory in Wednesday's episode - a strenuous challenge that found the chefs competing head-to-head at the Us Open. Split into two teams - orange and yellow - the chefs each devised a dish that would be appropriate to serve to tennis players and Us Open-attendees. Translation: their food needed to be elegant, light and healthful. At first, it seemed like Hall could end up in the bottom: She insisted on making an African nut stew - healthy, sure, but not necessarily to the liking of her teammates.

Dale Levitski
Dale Levitski was runner up on Top Chef: Miami, the third season of the franchise, and he made a lasting impression on gay viewers. Maybe it was his Mohawk, his self-deprecating wit, or his wicked smile, but Dale actually landed at #14 in our 2009 poll asking readers to choose their favorite gay reality show contestants.
After eight seasons Top Chef has finally gotten around to producing an "All-Star" cycle and Dale is one of fifteen memorable chefs returning to compete. Dale will be reunited with fellow Season 3 contestants Tre Wilcox and pal Casey Thompson.
He will also face off against Richard Blais who competed in season four, sported a similar "fauxhawk," and who Dale engaged in a heated blogwar with. (Over the originality of Blais' cooking – not his hairstyle.)
We tried contacting Dale for a comment about his return to Top Chef, but have yet to hear from him.

Last night, during Bravo's Top Chef reunion special, the cabler finally took the wraps off of one of television's worst-kept secrets: that next season of Top Chef would be an all-stars edition that would bring back 18 former contestants to battle it out for another chance at the title. Call it sweet justice for us fans, but after a snooze-worthy seventh season of Top Chef, the cooking competition is returning Dec. 1 (10 p.m.) for an All-Stars edition in New York City with some of our favorite past contestants, including Richard Blais (season 4), Fabio Viviani (season 5), Jennifer Carroll (season 6) and — the one I’m most excited about — Carla Hall (season 5). Judging by the full roster, Bravo went for talent in the kitchen as opposed to talent for drama, so expect a nail-biter of a season. Check out the complete list of 18 cheftestants who’ll duke it out:
