When it comes to dramatic storytelling, few shows do it better than Showtime's "Billions." Premiering in 2016, the series initially followed U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and hedge fund CEO Bobby "Axe" Axelrod (Damian Lewis) in a cat-and-mouse game involving financial crimes, determined (and oft-corrupt) government officials, dysfunctional families, obsession, and tested loyalties. While taking some license to push the narrative and give each character a unique personality, "Billions" also highlights the real worlds of federal prosecutors and high finance. The first season and its two main characters were allegedly loosely inspired by the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara's case against Sac Capital Advisors founder Steven Cohen for insider trading.
As The Wall Street Journal reports, depicting these complicated worlds as accurately as possible was important to "Billions" co-creators and writers Andrew Ross Sorkin, Brian Koppelman, and David Levien, who...

On December 9th, 2014 after seven seasons on the road, FX's "Sons of Anarchy" took its final ride. Show creator Kurt Sutter's series about a biker gang from Northern California follows Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), the heir apparent to the titular motorcycle club, and his manipulative mother Gemma Teller Morrow (Katey Sagal), the club's matriarch. After stumbling upon memoirs written by his late father, Jax begins to question the direction of Samcro (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original) and challenges the leadership of his stepfather Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman), the club's current president.
Loosely based on Shakespeare's "Hamlet," much of the core drama centers on the struggle between Jax and Clay for the direction of the M.C. with manipulation behind the scenes from Gemma and Dr. Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff), Jax's eventual wife. "Sons of Anarchy'' has always prided itself on its authenticity, with most cast members...

One thing you could never accuse Sons Of Anarchy of was bad writing. There were those who took umbrage with some of the twists and turns the show’s plot took as the years rolled by like so many motorcycles on the highway, but even when the series debatably jumped the shark, the dialogue and characters remained some of the sharpest on television.
Kurt Sutter’s writers room, with the showrunner penning a considerable amount of the scripts himself, managed to come up with scores of memorable phrases, one-liners, gags, and genuinely thoughtful musings on the themes of violence, responsibility and morality that suffused Sons Of Anarchy for its entire run. It may very well have been the most quotable thing on television.
Outside of sitcoms, audiences rarely busted a gut as often as they did in front of an episode of Sons (and rarely over such questionable content...

Annabeth is set to film the new sheriff role while filming her regular role on "The Bridge," so it sounds like she's...

It’s a big day for Sons of Anarchy casting news: After the announcement that Marilyn Manson will be recurring in the final season, FX confirms that The Bridge’s Annabeth Gish will play new sheriff Althea Jarry. The veteran of Stockton’s Organized Crime Unit will be tasked with solving the murders of Sheriff Eli Roosevelt and Tara Knowles. TVLine was the first to report the casting.
Like the sheriffs who’ve come before her, Jarry will learn she has to work with Samcro to keep bullets from flying — but she’ll be no pushover. (Here’s hoping she fares better than Agent Stahl.
