- Maha began belly dancing at a very early age, in fact, as soon as she learned how to walk!
Growing up in an Arabic family gave her occasions to belly dance during gatherings, and spurred her desire to transfer this passion for belly dancing to others. Her other passion, Latin dancing, came to rise in 1997, where she partnered with well known local Montreal (Canada) dancers during her residence there. Maha performed in several shows and guided the instruction of dancers from 2001 to present. She also made several appearances on television and the Cinema in North America. While earning degrees in Marketing and Management. She later earned degrees in English Literature from McGill University then Concordia University. During her course of studies she ensured taking electives in Modern Dance, Ballet Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Ballroom Dancing, Flamenco and Salsa.
Her full time job as a flight attendant with Air Canada provided her with the opportunity to travel the world, even when she had a layover of a mere twenty-four hours; she always managed to hunt a local salsa club to increase her variety of dance experiences through different regions. It is there that she discovered that the least likely places like Osaka (Japan), Mainz (Germany), Paris (France), Tel Aviv (Israel), housed a generous number of fantastic Salsa dancers! And of course, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver (Canada) and several cities in the U.S. (Los Angeles, New York City, Miami and Houston) and now Cyprus has contributed to her experience in Salsa dancing. Being fluent in 5 languages (English, Arabic, French, Spanish and Greek) gives her multicultural students an advantage by learning to dance without language barriers.
Maha lived in Syria, Algeria, U.S., and Canada these countries gave Maha access to a great myriad of dance styles and skills. That, coupled with her roots in Belly Dance, culminates a potent mix for a unique dance style. Following completion of her BA and certificates she earned a her I.D.T.A diploma and Zumba fitness training. Maha searches relentlessly for opportunities that will develop her craft through seminars and private coaching. Maha resides with her husband and two daughters in Cyprus, and gave birth to her third child in December 2014. - Maha attended McGill University from 1994 to 1999. She made a guest appearance in an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" at the time of being a freshman. Her character was an Egyptian mummy.
