The Giants Shouldn't bench Eli Manning -- they should block for his ass -- 'cause he's still a great Qb ... so says the guy who won 2 Super Bowls with the embattled star. TMZ Sports talked to Brandon Jacobs -- Eli's Nyg teammate from 2005-2011 -- about the 1-5 Giants' crappy offense ... and whether it's time to put Manning on the pine. "I still think right now, I think Eli is great." B.J. says Eli's gotta be used right,...

Watt saw a Youtube video of 6-year-old Breanna crying - in it, she says wishes she was 25 so she could marry the NFL star - he took matters into his own hands. "Does anyone happen to know this cute little girl? We have to find her and turn those tears into a smile," the 23-year-old professional athlete Tweeted Monday. Two days later, Watt did just that and more. Not only did he meet his little fan, but he also made her...

New York Giants fan Joseph Armento was dismayed to learn that the team did not retain running back Brandon Jacobs this offseason - so the 6-year-old decided to take matters into his own hands. Joseph sent a letter to Jacobs and enclosed the savings from his personal piggybank (totaling $3.36) in an effort to help the athlete, who signed with the San Francisco 49ers in March, return to New York. "When he asked me why you were going to Sf I explained that the Giants did not have enough money to keep you," Joseph's mother, Julie, wrote to Jacobs. "Joseph is...

Model Melissa Stetten was on a flight with actor Brian Presley (General Hospital) when the married actor began hitting on her, even going so far to remove his wedding ring in a clumsy fashion. Little did he know she was tweeting the whole thing to her 13,000 followers. He was evidently drinking beer and was wasted, which is a no-no for someone who's appeared on The View talking about kicking addiction. It's also worth noting Presley's final tweet before the flight.
We now have a supercomputer that can simulate a nuclear explosion down to the molecular level, giving us insight into how our arsenal is holding up, or possibly how we can turn Mark Ruffalo into The Hulk for real.

So let’s get formalities out of the way; there once was (still is) a band by the name of Neils Children, they were a post-punk band with psychedelic tendencies and as they went on began to delve a little deeper into the dark side, garage and psych rock. It’s during this period, that I am forced to admit I have prior, I have history, with this band. I say that, I doubt they’ll remember it, though I remember it well. It was a gig supporting The Horrors in Cardiff Barfly, who were touring in support of their debut album Strange House.
(Dear Reader, you can skip over these next two paragraphs if you’re only interested in reading a review, like I imagine you probably are)

The “Insane Icon,” is “Done.”
The most hyped story this week was Sting saying On Twitter that he was “Done.” Not via Tna TV or anything, Via Twitter. Because that’s how professionals deal with major announcements these days. Robert Roode announced early in the show that Sting was going to appear. Thing is that since they announced Roode’s title match against Storm was going to be at the PPV in April rather than the next one in March, they made it a bit obvious that something was going to go down at Victory Road in March. Otherwise why wouldn’t the title match just happen at Victory Road?
In the closing segment Sting came out as promised to address the Tweet that shook the world. Roode made his second appearance of the night to interrupt. Sting immediately converted over to Whacky Insane Icon Sting...

Bobby Roode retained successfully at Against All Odds so he rightfully was the main focus of the show this week. Although you have to question why he made Christy introduce him twice, he must be a glutton for punishment. He also rightfully pointed out that it’s Sting’s own fault he is still champion. The “Insane Icon” didn’t like this and so hit the ring and put him in a No Dq, No Time Limit match against Jeff Hardy in the first match. Is anyone still drug testing Jeff? Only someone on drugs could devise such terrible entrances and face paint every week. Either way, they had a decent opening match which even had a few spots around the stage and ramp. Hardy was all over Roode for the majority, and only lost when Kurt Angle made a return and threw Jeff into the steps.

HollywoodNews.com: Gisele Bundchen got in some hot water when she commented about the other Patriots players – not her husband, Tom Brady – basically being the reason the team lost the Super Bowl.
Now, one player on the New York Giants, Brandon Jacobs, is commenting about what he thinks Bundchen should be doing instead of saying things like that, states UsMagazine.com. “She just needs to continue to be cute and shut up,” Jacobs allegedly told reporters.
And it seems others agree a little but also understand her position as Patriots player Osi Umenyiora commented, “She’s supposed to stay out of things like that. But at the end of the day that’s their relationship and she has the right to say whatever she wants to.”

As if there wasn't enough bad blood between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots already, Brandon Jacobs just threw some more gasoline on the fire. And the Giants running back did it at the expense of Gisele Bundchen, wife of Patriots' Qb Tom Brady.
Following Super Bowl Xlvi, Bundchen ripped Brady's teammates for too many dropped passes in the loss. She says, "My husband cannot f****** throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time...I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."
Well, this comment didn't sit well with Jacobs, this despite the fact that his team won the game 21-17.
When asked his thoughts on Bundchen's statement, Jacobs tells Yahoo!, "She just needs to continue to be cute and shut up."
Jacobs' teammate Osi Umenyiora had a little bit of a different take and was a bit more understanding.

Just some rambling…
DC’s New 52 made the New York Times again. The title of the article is “So Far, Sales For New DC Comics Are Super,” by George Gene Gustines and Adam W. Kepler was published on Saturday, October 1, 2011 issue, and was featured on the front page of the Arts Section. According the article, the first five weeks of DC’s reboot of its universe has increased “the sales of DC Comics by leaps and bounds.” The first issue of the new Justice League – which the authors call DC’s flagship book. Really? I would have thought it was Superman, since the Son of Krypton is the flagship character. But what do I know? – anyway, the first issue sold “more than 200,000 copies, compared with the roughly 40,000 for each of the last few issues of the old book.” Well, I hope it keeps up, but these are the first issues.

Giants fans may have been upset with their team's 38-14 loss to the Colts on Sunday (Sept. 19) but apparently not as upset as Brandon Jacobs.
The New York running back claims that he had tried to toss his helmet towards the Colts' bench, but it got caught on his leather gloves and made a detour 10 rows up to the stands.
"I was frustrated and went to throw it down on the ground, and it got caught on my finger and went into (the stands)," he says. "I apologize for that. It was frustration on my part."
It's pretty funny to watch the Colts fan not wanting to part with the helmet. That definitely would have made for a unique souvenir.
So, do you believe Jacobs' story?...

The proper NFL season is almost upon us, and excitement has reached a fever pitch here in the MTV Newsroom. Our fantasy football draft is a week away, and the season's first Sunday (September 12) happens to be the same day as the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (so you can watch the Green Bay Packers stomp all over the Philadelphia Eagles and then settle in to watch the big show live at 9 p.m. Eastern on MTV). On Monday night (August 16), we got our first glimpse at the New York Giants and the New York Jets in preseason action (MTV News segment producer Saimon Kos was even at the game, sampling the brand new stadium). The Giants won the game 31-16, but the true highlight came in the second quarter when Giants quarterback Eli Manning got mixed up in a strange play that ended with his helmet on the ground and...

Just a few months after being reported romancing Ryan Cabrera, "The Hills" star Audrina Patridge is alleged to be back on the single market. Breaking the news that the 24-year-old has split from her singer boyfriend, E! News cited a source as saying, "Ryan and Audrina are definitely not together right now."
The source who was with her in Las Vegas this weekend went on to say that the Megan Blair of "Sorority Row" still kept the break-up to herself. "Audrina's not talking about it, but people were talking about it over the weekend," the insider dished. "It's still a touchy subject for her." Although her romance to Ryan was shot for the final season of "The Hills", it is still unclear whether their break-up will be included.
In its report, E! News also noted that Audrina has avoided questions over Ryan since attending Perez Hilton's birthday party in Los Angeles recently.
