Chances are, you’ve never seen an NHL hockey game like this before. While you can watch the boring, traditional version of the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. the Boston Bruins on either ABC, on the Disney Channel and Disney Xd, ESPN will use tracking technology to recreate all of the hockey action with animated versions of the players, skating alongside everyone’s favorite characters from “Big City Greens.” This is an alternate broadcast that everyone in the family will want to watch. Both the traditional and animated broadcasts of the game will also be available on ESPN+, while the Big City Greens Classic 2 will be available to stream on Disney+ as well. The puck drops on Saturday, March 9 at 3 p.m. Et. You can watch Disney Channel and Disney Xd with a 5-Day Free Trial of Directv Stream. You can also watch with Sling TV, Hulu Live TV, Fubo, or YouTube TV.

In what is always one of the highest-profile events at France’s Annecy Animation Festival, Disney held their yearly presentation on Tuesday night, detailing their upcoming slate of new and returning programs, highlighted by the announcement of the new Emea series “Vikingskool,” and early looks at U.S. series “The Owl House” and “The Rocketeer.”
Disney shared the first images from “The Owl House” and “The Rocketeer” exclusively with Variety, seen below.
This year’s presentation was fronted by Svp for Disney International Media Emea Hélène Etzi; VP of Content for Animation, Digital and Acquisitions Emea Orion Ross; and Nancy Kanter, Evp, Content and Creative Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide, and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.
Targeting 6-11 year-olds, “Vikingskool” had been on Disney’s radar for some time. Originally pitched towards more mature audiences, Ross was impressed and kept the proposed series in mind on the chance it could be adapted to Disney’s demographic.

Sunday July 15th is the last day of Comic-Con 2012, and most of us will be completely worn out looking like Spider-Man in the image above. Chances are he's asleep under that mask. Sunday has always been a cool down day for us, we kind of just try to relax a little bit more and enjoy it. That doesn't mean their isn't anything to see or do though!
We've got a Fringe screening and Q&A, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer 20th Anniversary, Sons of Anarchy, the annual Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical screening, and more! I've always wanted to go the Buffy musical sing-a-long, but am usually trying to leave San Diego before it starts.
Just a little reminder, we will be having our annual GeekTyrant meet up this year to meet our readers, which is something we always enjoy doing! That will take place on Wednesday night, and...

Before you open the first issue of Shane and Chris Houghton’s Reed Gunther, ask yourself the following question: “How awesome is a cowboy riding a bear and fighting monsters?” If your answer was “The most awesome” then you’re going to love this book. Even if that wasn’t your answer, you’re still going to love this book.
Reed Gunther focuses on the titular cowboy, his smarter-than-average bear Sterling and their adventures through an Old West filled with giant snakes, shark monsters and ancient totems. The central man/bear duo is incredibly charming, akin to a Wild West Wallace & Gromit. Reed’s overconfident, super-manly nature contrasts nicely with Sterling’s silent but expressive puppy-dog nature. Granted, Reed is also a bit of a coward and Sterling can be an absolute badass, which provides for some great character moments. There’s an hysterical joke about their...
