Mendoza (Argentina), May 22 (Ians) A sublime performance from Cesare Casadei earned Italy a 3-2 victory over Brazil in a thrilling game of two halves at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina 2023.
The Chelsea-owned midfielder’s flick-on enabled Matteo Prati to head home the deadlock-breaker at the back post. Casadei then doubled the lead, nodding home after his initial knock-down wasn’t dealt with. He then conned Arthur and won a penalty, which he himself converted.
Brazil went for it in the second half. Sebastiano Desplanches denied them once with a fine block, but he was powerless to prevent Marcos Leonardo’s snapshot finding the bottom corner.
Leonardo then got his and Brazil’s second to make for a nervy finale, but Italy held on to make a winning start to their Group D campaign.
Notably, Brazil reappeared in the competition after missing out on qualification in the two previous editions.

Alec Baldwin has set his next project. The actor will star in the upcoming film “Kent State” about the tragic 1970 war protest shootings.
It’s an interesting choice, as the news comes after Baldwin wrapped production on “Rust” earlier this week. Et has learned that “Kent State” is a film about the abuse of power and misuse of guns, and that there will be no actual guns used on set.
As Et previously reported, Baldwin was involved in an on-set tragedy while filming “Rust” in October 2021 outside Santa Fe, New Mexico, when a gun he was holding discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
In January, Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. However, his lawyers announced last month that the charges against him had been dropped.
Baldwin previously pleaded not guilty to the charges and has repeatedly insisted he did not pull the trigger on the prop gun.

The director’s serious examination of the German artist’s life and work has an architectural quality as it moves around some monumental art – and studios
Wim Wenders brings a certain awe, or even shock, or even a kind of reverently docu-dramatised Ptsd to his film about the German artist Anselm Kiefer. The creator of paintings, photographs, colossal installations and illustrated book artefacts is celebrated but in some quarters criticised for his engagement with German fascism and the Holocaust, mediated through his lifelong love for the poetry of Paul Celan. The film shows us his work in all its giganticism, with minimal archival interview material, though there are some fancifully conceived but successfully executed fantasy scenes of the artist in boyhood and young adulthood. The title perhaps intends the use of his first name not in any relaxed way, but in a style comparable to Leonardo or Michelangelo.
