The Fantasia Festival has announced an exciting addition to the 2009 line-up. Les Lascars from French directors Albert Pereira Lazaro and Emmanuel Klotz is a feature-length animation that had an impressive screening during the Canne’s Critic’s Week. Les Lascars had its humble beginnings as a series of short one minute clips aired on France’s Canal Plus throughout 2000, and the years after. Due to its phenomenal success, this series satirizing everyday Parisian life, was renewed for a second season in 2007. To get ready for the silver screen, Les Lascars’ production team brushed up on their basics (biting and mature humor, exceptional animation and a colorful hip hop soundtrack) and sought out an outstanding cast of voice actors to bring their characters to life. You may be able to recognize the likes of: Vincent Cassel, Diane Kruger, Frédérique Bel and Izm. Les Lascars will be presented exclusively on: Friday July 17, in Concordia Hall Theater.
