Behind the camera talents from three of the animated programs hoping to get in at this year’s Emmys sat down with Gold Derby and discussed several topics including their favorite pieces of animation, what their favorite aspect is of telling an animated story, what kind of stories they’d like to see told through animation and the most surprising voice acting they’ve seen. This was all part of Gold Derby’s Meet the Experts panel on TV Animation that included Karina Manashil (“Entergalactic”), Sung Jin Ahn (“The Legend of Vox Machina”) and Colin Heck (“Mulligan”).

Gear up for some boozin’ and brawlin’ animated adventuring, Critters: “The Legend of Vox Machina” series from Critical Role will storm onto Amazon Prime Video next February.
Season 1 of “The Legend of Vox Machina,” an adult animated fantasy-adventure series based on Critical Role’s first Dungeons & Dragons campaign, is scheduled to premiere Feb. 4, 2022, exclusively on the Prime Video streaming service worldwide. Amazon Studios has ordered a total of 24 episodes across two seasons.
Amazon announced the premiere date at a virtual New York Comic Con panel Friday with the founders and cast of Critical Role. It also released the show’s title sequence (watch below or at this link) and the Critical Role cast’s F-bomb-laced live read of a scene from “The Legend of Vox Machina” (below or at this link).

Critical Role gave fans a first look at the character art for upcoming Amazon original animated series “The Legend of Vox Machina,” created by Emmy-winning artist, animator and designer Phil Bourassa.
Cr is producing “The Legend of Vox Machina,” based on the popular role-playing collective’s first campaign. In 2019 Amazon Prime Video ordered a total of 24 episodes across two seasons after the project broke Kickstarter records. The first season is slated to debut “soon” on Amazon Prime Video.
Bourassa’s credits include character designs for DC/Warner Bros. Animation’s “Young Justice,” “Batman: Bad Blood,” “Batman: Hush” and “Justice League” series.
Bourassa, in a video Critical Role released Wednesday about his joining the series (watch below), said he worked closely with the Cr team to create the anime-inflected character looks.
