"Hey, what other old shows could we bring back?"
That's a question being asked all over Hollywood, now that Fuller House worked America up into a nostalgia frenzy. A little credit is due to the Disney Channel's Girl Meets World, which proved that these old shows could benefit from being bumped into the modern era and given a new generation of kids who need to learn life lessons. It's well into its reboot season, but right now Fuller House is the revival show that's generated buzz, press and more than a few conversations about pop culture nostalgia.

The bonds formed on Step by Step run deep. Series star Patrick Duffy, he of Dallas and Man from Atlantis fame, did a Reddit Ama and no topics were off the table. One that came up more frequently than you'd expect: the ABC series Step by Step. Duffy starred opposite Suzanne Somers on the family sitcom from 1991-1998. Duffy played Frank Lambert a single dad of three who spontaneously marries Carol (Somers), a mom of three, creating a large blended family. Duffy revealed he still talks to many former cast members, including Somers and Christine Lakin. Plus, has there been talk of a reunion?! "I wrote a letter of introduction for Dana [Staci Keanan] to get into law school, and she has since graduated and gone on...

TV icons Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers came together in 1991 for "Step By Step," an updated "Brady Bunch" for the ABC's T.G.I.F. crowd.
The series followed Duffy's Frank Lambert and Somers' Carol Foster, who met on vacation and got married, resulting in the merging of their their respective families of three, plus Frank's Joey Tribbiani-like nephew Cody, who lived in a van outside their Wisconsin home.
Eventually Frank and Carol had a daughter of their own -- Lily -- shortly before the series came to an end in 1998. Though Duffy and Somers have kept us in the loop as to their whereabouts in the years since, the other stars of "Step By Step" have largely left the Hollywood life.
In honor of the 15th anniversary of the show's series finale -- which aired on June 26, 1998 -- click through the slideshow below to check in with the "Step By Step" cast.

Ah, nostalgia for the '90s, that bygone era when rock stars wore flannel and Friday nights were for cheesy sitcoms! It now seems that we could get a reunion for Tgif mainstay, "Step by Step." One of its stars, Patrick Duffy, is apparently all for bringing the Lambert-Foster clan back together.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Duffy revealed his idea for bringing "Step by Step" back. "I would love to work with Suzanne [Somers] again," Duffy said. "The 'Step by Step' cast was so wonderful to be with. They were my family, and I think a little two-hour special about where these people are -- not a documentary but actually doing a show -- seeing where they all come to over the years. It would be so fun to play that goofy Frank Lambert character again, aging another 25 years."
Obviously, Duffy has been thinking about this.

Patrick Duffy is on board for a "Step By Step" reunion!
The actor, who reprised his initial iconic role of Bobby Ewing for TNT's "Dallas" reboot, told The Hollywood Reporter that he'd like to see where the characters of the ABC series are now.
"Step By Step" was a modern-day "Brady Bunch" of sorts: The show followed divorced contractor and father of three Frank Lambert (Duffy) and Carol Foster (Suzanne Somers), a widowed beautician with three children of her own. The two met while on vacation in Jamaica, where they spontaneously got married and then returned to Wisconsin and merged their families.
“I would love to work with Suzanne again,” Duffy told THR. “The 'Step By Step' cast was so wonderful to be with. They were my family and I think a little two-hour special about where these people are -– not a documentary, but actually doing a...

Gather your roller-coaster enthusiasm; nurture your positive attitudes toward blended families. Patrick Duffy wants to do a Step by Step reunion. "The Step By Step cast was so wonderful to be with," Duffy tells THR. "I think a little two-hour special about where these people are — not a documentary, but actually doing a show — seeing where they all come to over the years," he says. "It would be so fun to play that goofy Frank Lambert character again, aging another 25 years." If Boy Meets World is doing it, there's no reason Sbs couldn't, but we're holding out for Urkel.

"Step by Step" -- which premiered on ABC in 1991 -- was one of the first shows post-"Brady Bunch" to highlight the complexities of the modern blended family.
The show centers on divorced father-of-three Frank Lambert (Patrick Duffy) and widowed mother-of-three Carol Foster (Suzanne Somers) as they marry and blend their families, despite the kids' initial resentments of each other.
